high floorParticipantSuch a shame, 5th lottery pick to go down for an extended period (Embiid, Randle, Smart, TJ Warren and now Gordon). Glad to hear TJ is coming back soon, but I really really hate injuries man. Especially to young players.
I was pretty surprised how well Aaron was playing in limited minutes, and his shooting has made improvements faster than I anticipated: 58% FG, 50% 3PT%, 67% FT so far this season.
Sounds like Orlando may sit him out the rest of the year, and if that happens I guess Channing Frye would get all the minutes he can handle, maybe some for Mo Harkless as well

high floorParticipantIt sounds similar to the Jones fracture that Kevin Durant suffered, so I would imagine an 8 to 12 week timeframe. But but writer John Denton of the Orlando Magic thinks he could be done for the year. I’m inclined to believe John Denton since the magic are notoriously cautious with letting their young players heal

ballislyfe25ParticipantFoot injuries are definitely common amongst NBA and basketball players in general but they seem to be occurring much more frequently over the past few seasons. I wonder if the shoes have anything to do with it. Some of these Nike basketball shoes are so thin and, in my opinion/experiences, provide very little ankle stability. Steph Curry must rock Under Armour for a reason…

XYRYXParticipantInteresting assumption! I think last year or the year before Manu completely ripped through his Nike shoe sole while attempting an ingame move and I think the commentator said it was the 2nd time within a week something that extreme happend. I’m a sneakers guy and know that the quality of older 90s and early 2k shoes are better than right now. It’s true that the game is way faster now and the shoes need to fit this style even for big guys and especially with really long guys with big feet playing wing positions (KD & Giannis have insane hands and huge feet.
In my opinion all the ankle, knee and a lot of back problems nowadays can be directly related to the high speed/usage/tempo of the modern NBA. Back then shoes had to fill other needs and were stronger imo. Then came the Air System, Reeboks Pump and own air suspension, And1 starting to be someone. I had a like 3rd year/model/evolution DMX damping system in a pair of Iverson style street sneakers and this was the best damping system I ever had in any shoe and the quality of this shoe was fantastic!
BTW: GET WELL SOON MR. GORDON, ENJOYED YOUR SUCCESS SO FAR VERY MUCH!
