Been a while.. Let’s see how this goes.

Most exciting time of the year – If you are a serious NBA fan, and since you are here, you probably are, this is the best time of the year. Teams start to rebuild, reload, or change everything. New faces in new places. Your favorite player could go from perennial All-Star to bench warmer. Strap in, it only gets crazier from here.

Rose to the Knicks – It’s not a done deal yet but it seems to be complete. I’m not exactly surprised that they let him go but they got almost nothing valuable in return. Robin Lopez, Jerian Grant, and Jose Calderon don’t exactly do much for a team. Maybe as compliments but they 2/3 project as starters… Better to get something for Rose but I would at least want a young player that can play right now.

Gordon Hayward wants out – He is requesting a trade and I don’t exactly blame him. He is capable of so much more than carrying around a team going nowhere. He needs to be a good 2nd or amazing 3rd option.

Clarkson is the future in LA – With the news that Walton is shopping D’Angelo Russell, it is clear that he wants Jordan Clarkson to be the PG of his team. A future core of Clarkson, Randle, and Ingram looks pretty damn good. Maybe they move Russell for a top 5 pick, like they want, and get Buddy Hield. Hield has expressed some real interest in the Lakers. All they would need is a big. Maybe Hibbert could fill the gap for now?

Teague and Hill on the move – Teague came out about his injury and that probably hurt his trade value but I think the Hawks got decent value for him. Trade details aren’t complete but right now the big names are Teague to the Pacers, Hill to the Jazz, and the 12th pick to the Hawks. Looks like the Hawks trust Schroder or they are just starting over. Hill to the Jazz seems weird since Hayward wants out… If Hayward isn’t there, they seem to be on a mini rebuild and they have 2 promising PGs on their roster that Hill will just take time from. The Pacers obviously need 1 or 2 more tweaks to be a serious contender in the East… Not that it is hard to compete there but they are closer now than before.

Simmons gets a promise – The 76ers are finally doing something right. It’s been a long time coming but this rebuild seems to be heading in the right direction. I’ve been posting about their rebuild since like 2012 but it seems like they are finding direction. Shopping Okafor and Noel means they are choosing Embiid and Simmons as their future. I’m okay with that choice but they need to get good value for Okafor. He can be a real force on the block. Shopping him for a high draft pick is the right move. Maybe they should talk to the Lakers about Russell…

    – Cleveland gets a ring – It happened. I’m not a Lebron hater but I’m not a fan. When I saw his reaction to the win, I felt for him. I am happy he could finally do what he wanted in Cleveland. That being said, I think he makes it hard for people to be their best on his team. I know he is a terrific passer but he is so good that people seem to sit and watch him. Irving was finally at his best in the playoffs when he started being aggressive and stop waiting for Lebron to do something. IDK what the answer is but Love was basically a non-factor in the Finals.

Dwight Howard looking for new team, again… – Howard is leaving the Rockets. He wasn’t happy with Harden dominating the ball and now you add on the hire of Mike D’Antoni. Well, let’s just say that it wasn’t going to work. Howard is sort of losing favor around the league… I’m sure he will have suitors lining up for him but I wonder how many will be contending teams? He seems to be a bit of a cancer everywhere he goes. If we had a time machine, I wonder if he would ever leave the Magic?

Looking back, Howard dissing SVG and bolting Orlando looks like the worst thing he could have done. Has done nothing for his career.

It really seems like a bad move now.  SVG made him look better than any coach he has had since.

Happy for Cleveland.  LeBron feels some relief, I bet.

    Better than Jordan? Who knows…

I will cop out by calling MJ the BEST ever, and LeBron the GREATEST ever.

Love the potential promise of a Cavs-Warriors rematch.  Don’t like bogus, overhyped rivalries, but THIS one is a REAL rivalry.  Also, looks like their is now a PERSONAL rivalry between LeBron and Draymond.

Looking ahead: Anyone other than me envisioning the 2017 All Star East team with both LeBron AND Ben Simmons?  That should be fun!

Kevin Durant Sweepstakes begins aka does Golden State form a SUPER TEAM?

If KD stays in OKC, or just doesn’t to go the Warriors I can see Golden State maybe taking a run at Dwight Howard.

Howard can still board, score inside, and block shots.  They might do Hack a Howard (ok, they WILL) but they did that with Ezeli anyway.  Also would help limit Bogut’s minutes.

Wouldn’t work in EVERY matchup, but the Splash Bros. plus Draymond plus Iggy plus Dwight would give them a formidable five man unit.

    What will Pau do?

    And, Dirk?

If Dwight doesn’t go to Golden State does he go to the retooled Knicks?

Carmelo, Porzingas, and Dwight would be a MASSIVE front line.

Those 3 with Derrick Rose at point guard would make for an interesting core.

The draft: Like everyone else I wanna see what happens after the second pick.

Potential draft picks are all over the map.

Hopefully we get an out-of-nowhere YUGE trade on draft night (not counting D Rose).

Will the Celtics keep all their picks?

Will Philly fans on this site be happy?

    Stay tuned…

"The news that Walton is shopping Russell"?

You pull shit completely out of your ass and call it news? I guess the real news here is that Walton has already replaced Kupchak as GM.

I truly feel Indiana wanted that “True Point Guard” and not having to pay Mike Conley for it is good. What I see Indiana doing next is throwing money at Nicolas Batum to be that PG’s running mate which would be fantastic defensively and Batum has a great ability to play within a teams system.

They strike out with him I think they look at Evan Fournier (Coming off a nice season in Orl, is a very good scorer and only 23yrs old with potential to grow as a player), Demar Derozan (It is a long shot, but Indiana has always needed a 2nd scorer and they could try convince him that he, Teague, Turner and PG is a core that would be better than Toronto for him to challenge for a Championship) or Harrison Barnes (I have cooled on this greatly, but Bird wants space and pace and he does fit the mold).

I haven’t heard any actual indication that the Lakers are actively looking to trade Russell. Maybe if the right offer came along to land them an established star but it doesn’t seem likely right now.
