I am a die hard sixers fan, and I love the success they’ve been having this year, but I don’t think this team can win it all. This feeling has NOTHING to do with their recent slump.

I came up with a 3 part idea for the sixers this offseason to get the team younger and make them overall better.

    1. First, amnesty Brand. He is useless and is pretty much finished. Lavoy Allen and Nikola Vucevic have outplayed, and he’s only taking minutes from our young guys.

    2. Next, S+T Spencer Hawes for Nicolas Batum. Batum would be a great fit at the 3 for the sixers. He plays awesome D and can hit the open 3. Next to Jrue and Turner, he’s a much better fit than Iguodala, especially since he can be effective w.o the ball in his hands.

The Blazers do it because they have a hole at center. Camby is getting oldER, and Oden looks like he isn’t going to pan out. Hawes is a very good defensive rebounder, and can pass the ball, so he’d be a good fit next to Aldridge.

Nikola Vucevic WILL be better than Spencer Hawes. His post game is much better, as is his jump shot. Offensively he’s going to be a nice weapon.

    3. Deal Iguodala, Meeks, 1st round pick, and Lou Williams to utah for Derrick Favors and Devin Harris (also maybe Raja Bell if the Jazz would include him, but he’s definitely not a deal breaker). Harris has fallen out of Favor in Utah, and he would be a nice bench option for the sixers, and only has 1 year left on his deal. Favors would be the perfect fit at PF next to Vucevic because of his athleticism and defense.

Lou would provide some nice scoring for the Jazz. Dude can put up points. Iguodala could be the primary perimeter defender, which the jazz need against wings in the west such as kobe and durant. He’s also a great passer. The Jazz have a logjam at the 4 and 5, and Millsap and Jefferson are both having outstanding seasons.

The sixers line-up would look like this-

    1. Jrue-Harris

    2. Turner-Bell/FA

    3. Batum-Thad Young

    4. Favors-Lavoy Allen

    5. Vucevic-FA

I think that team is awesome offensively and defensively. Young, athletic, and can score the ball in a variety of ways.

why would they trade their all-star/best player?

As a Blazers fan we would need more then that, he is a RFA so we can still resign him and people were offering alot more last season picks plus a starter. So we would need Hawes and a pick or Hawes and Meeks maybe.

Batum is worth much much more than Hawes, Batum is 23 and balling with all the physical tools to be a a star in this league.  Sixers give way too much up for Favors and Harris.  Favors is yet to prove anything and Harris seems to be running out of gas.

i’m not sure if you’ve been watching favors, but he still looks lost.  a frontline of vucevic, favors and LAVOY ALLEN could compete….in the D-League.

You guys need Iggy. You’d fall apart without him.

     I like his ideas.

And you guys are forgetting how good Hawes was playing before he got hurt.  The Sixers are 12-2 with Hawes because he’s defending, rebounding, blocking shots, passing well, and hitting evrything.  He’s shooting like 60%, averaging a double double, and is one of the most efficient big men in the league.  And he’s only 23 still.

And Iggy is not our best player, he’s only on the All Star team because of the teams record but he needs to go.  The Sixers would trade him because if he’s our best player then they will never advance anywhere in this league put it that way.

And @Juves you have obviously not watched any of these guys play.  The Sixers are winning now with Lavoy Allen starting, and Vucevic is playing great, the Sixers are 7-1 when he get’s over 20 minutes for good reason.  He’s a legit starting C in the league with a lot of potential.  And Favors is hardly 20 years old, he’s putting up solid numbers in the limited minutes he’s getting, and not only that he always has good +/- numbers when he’s on the court.

Favors and Vucevic as a starting frontcourt is about would be about as promising a frontcourt as there is in the leauge.

Whatever happens it just better happen, I will stop going to Sixers games if Iggy is still on the team after the deadline.

McBailey you obviously don’t watch the Sixers.  Go check Iggy’s playoff stats last year against Miami and compare them to Turners.  Iggy doesn’t do anything for us but play great defense.  His offensive production is easily, and I mean easily, replaced by Turner.

In fact he’s the glue that holds this team together, and he’s the only player on the roster that can defend the other teams best player on a nightly bases… I believe that Lou Williams has to go, I have been saying this for 2 years now, Holiday and Turner are being held back by the coaches choice to play Williams more so than Both young talents…In my mind, Collins and Management have failed both Holiday and Turner by keeping Lou Williams around to steal all the shots and minutes, it really has left me at a loss for words…Now I also think Based must go too, but he won’t fetch us anyone near Batum’s level straight up, I believe Batum is a lot like Iggy and Turner and I’d rather try to steal a power forward like Beasley ….I think adding a young Pf is the only way to go…Trade for Beasley, Amnesty Brand and make a strong push for Dwight Howard in the Summer…keep Holiday, Turner, Iguadola, Young, Vucevic and Allen at all cost, trade for Beasley using Hawes or Williams

I absolutely love your passion for our team but your so wrong about Iggy it’s almost heart breaking…I agree he shouldn’t be the best player on the team but that’s not his fault, it’s the coaches and GM’s fault they didn’t make a move to clear minutes for Holiday and Turner, if they would have made the right choices to play those two more maybe they would be the best players on the team by now…I am convinced that a t trade with Minnesota would put us on the right path, if we make a Williams for Beasley trade and Amnesty Elton Brand we will be in position to make a splash in free agency… Iggy is not the problem Mr 19134

You’re welcome to your opinion, dude. I’m sure whatever team he goes to, since you’re so sure that he’ll go that you’ve wagered your fandom of the team, will love to have him. Hell, Indy is stacked with wing players and I’d still want him on my team.

I would definitely do Meeks and Hawes for Batum, but as 19134 said Hawes has been a monster when he’s on the floor. He’s restricted as well, and I heard Batum and Portland were having trouble coming together on an extension. Hawes fills a need for a team that’s on the brink of contention in the west.

And anyone who says Iggy is the best player on the sixers doesn’t watch the sixers. He isn’t the glue to anything. I cannot stand him. Evan Turner can do exactly what he does offensively, except better. Batum would become our #1 perimeter defender.

Lou has also been having a sensational year, and will most likely win 6th man of the yr award

I would do the Trade if you switched Favors with Millsap and you can have bell also.

and I can tell you with 100% confidence that Iggy is our best player right now, but I agree that he would be our 2nd or 3rd best player if we moved Williams and let Holiady and Turner play 35 minutes per…The Trio of Jrue, E.T and Iggy can co exist, with Thad and Jodie Meeks backing up the Sg and Sf spots, Turner can play Pg and give the Sixers big back court looks for 6 to 8 minutes a game…We must move Williams for a player like Micheal Beasley, I would include our 1st rounder this year to sweeten that offer for Minnesota, Beasley would be the perfect fit at Pf post Elton Brand…I would bet my life the Sixers Amnesty Elton Brand in July, clearing 18.5 million in cap, then figure in Nocioni’s Team Option at 6.5 million per and Hawes’ expiring 4.4 Million Dollar salary and the Sixers are on a path to MAX CAP SPACE in the Summer of Superman…Those 3 bodies off the roster equal 28 Million in Cap Space…They would have the core of Holiday, Turner, Iguadola, Beasley, Young, Vucevic and Allen ( Jodie Meeks could be brought back for cheap, but we could also upgrade by getting a Nick Young to fill it up from 3 ) Signing Dwight Howard would be the obvious GOAL in the Summer of 2012, The Sixers could offer him the Max, maybe they’d give Orlando Hawes and a Future 1st in a Sign and Trade??? The stats are very telling for the Sixers, when they have production from the Center spot they can be among the league’s best, if you swap an over achieving Hawes for the likes of a Dwight Howard the Sixers look very different, thats why I believe they have to make a run at a young Power Foward this year, trading Lou Williams and our 1st rounder for Beasley sounds perfect, he can create for himself and hit an open jumper, and he can extend the defense out to the 3 point line at the Pf spot, a formula Howard and Magic rode to the NBA Finals…I believe a Starting 5 of Holiday, Turner, Iguadola, Beasley and Howard would be a vastly improved version of Howard’s former squad…all four of his potential teammates are more dynamic then their Orlando counterparts…people that harp on defense forget the Magic ran Hedo at the Sf/Pf spot, and they were still a top 5 defensive squad, Beasley is a far better defender than Hedo was and has the potential to get better, we often forget players get covered up by other players greatness, next to Howard a player like Beasley could resemble the player a lot of scouts predicted him becoming…

I have been waiting a few years for Sixers trade threads but now that we have them I am seeing nothing that I like.
