There are some situations I would like to discuss for this All-Star game as the newest All-Star Ballot comes in.

    5. Will Kevin Love make the All-Star Game and do you buy that Lamar Odom has more votes?

    4. Does Blake Griffin deserve to make the All-Star game over Dirk Nowitzki?  Blake is a fun player to watch and averages 21-13 and leads the league in dunks BUT Dirk Nowitzki is behind him in votes by almost 100,000 votes.  Dirk Nowitzki is in the top 3 for MVP voting but might not make the All-Star game.  Really?…

    3. Will the Lakers have 3 players as starters in the All-Star game?  Melo may be traded by then, leaving the next forward to start, being Pau Gasol.  Yao is out so Bynum has a chance to win the spot.  And Kobe is Kobe.

    2.  Will the 5 immediate backups at each position for the Eastern All-Stars be the Celtics starters?  Garnett behind Stoudemire.  Pierce behind LeBron.  Allen behind Wade.  Rondo behind Rose.  Shaq behind Dwight.

    1.  HOW THE FK IS MONTA ELLIS NOT EVEN IN TOP 10 VOTING FOR GUARDS IN THE WEST?

I mean Kevin Martin, Vince Carter, Jason Kidd, Tony Parker, Russell Westbrook are above him?  Dude isn’t even top 10 voting.. SMH.

     5. All star game voting is mostly about popularity and Lamar Odom is on the Lakers, one of the most popular teams in the league so I can see how Odom has more votes

    4. Blake Griffin is not going to make it over Nowitzki. Hes not going to be voted in as a starter and I highly highly doubt that the coaches will choose Blake over Dirk

    3. I think Pau is more likely to take Yao’s spot than Bynum and deservingly so

    2. I agree with the Big 3 and Rondo but I’m not really sure if Shaq will make it as a reserve since I think the coaches will take either Bogut and/or Horford before Shaq

    1. Agreed. Again i think this is bc of popularity. Despite the huge number Ellis has been putting up, he doesn’t get much exposure

    5. Will Kevin Love make the All-Star Game and do you buy that Lamar Odom has more votes?

Kevin Love will not make the all-star team (even tho he should), I believe Griffin makes it before he does. And I don’t agree with Odom having more votes than Love, he’s not better or more valuable than Love.

Really?

Griffin deserves an all-star spot, but not over Nowitzki. Hes not a better than Nowitzki (yet).

    3. Will the Lakers have 3 players as starters in the All-Star game? Melo may be traded by then, leaving the next forward to start, being Pau Gasol. Yao is out so Bynum has a chance to win the spot. And Kobe is Kobe.

Kobe and Gasol makes it, but No way does Bynum should make it. He’s missed too many games to be considered.

    2. Will the 5 immediate backups at each position for the Eastern All-Stars be the Celtics starters? Garnett behind Stoudemire. Pierce behind LeBron. Allen behind Wade. Rondo behind Rose. Shaq behind Dwight.

Rondo, KG, Pierce, Allen makes the all-star, but not Shaq.

    1. HOW THE FK IS MONTA ELLIS NOT EVEN IN TOP 10 VOTING FOR GUARDS IN THE WEST?

I live in the Bay Area and I’m used to media and mainstream over looking us. And it’s not just basketball. San Francisco is just as major a city as Los Angeles, yet we continue to be ignored by media. If Monta was playing for the Clippers, he would have made it last year and specially this year.

     5. Love will get snubbed imo, he plays for Minny which will work against him

    4. No Dirks shooting numbers are off the charts for someone who works outside the paint, blake is winning in votes cause hes the sshiny new toy . 90% of NBA voters are idiots/bandwagon fans/ idiots

    3. Maybe , unfortunately though cause Bynum doesnt deserve it

    2. Neither Shaq or Ray will get in imo

    1. "90% of NBA voters are idiots/bandwagon fans/ idiots "

toungue out, you have a lot to learn about the all-star game. VOting has absolutely nothing to do with a guy making the all-star game or being deserving. VOting simply picks the starters. DIrk is not about to miss the all-star game simply becasue he is behind in votes. Who cares if lamar has more votes then klove, neither is gonna start. Pau is making the all-star game regardless if melo is traded and yao being out will have zero impact on whether bynum makes the game or not. If yao gets the most votes and cant play, then david stern picks the replacement. It does not go to next in line of votes.

From last night, quick example of his mentality , skip to 5:33 and 4:48

You guys should watch these highlights , there are some really good plays . It shows plays for Both LA and GSW (about 60-40 GSW though since it’s a W’s fan but still you get to see the best plays outside of Browns block )

I laugh everytime I see Nateoak post man. I’m gonna ask this: Do you think Monta Ellis is REALLY one of the 12 best/most popular players in the West? If you truly think that, that’s some bandwagon stuff man.

Word, you truly don’t understand the ASG way Toungeout. It’s about popularity, who’s new and fresh and the old stars who can still play get in.

I’m not sure about putting Ellis, Griffin and Love in the all star game. Then good teams like Utah and Portland wouldn’t even have a representative. That’s kind of tragic to me (the Jazz in particular).

"If Monta was playing for the Clippers, he would have made it last year and specially this year."

Eric Gordon deserves to be an all star just as much as Monta Ellis but nobody is talking about him.

Eric Gordon derseves it more IMO. He’s been playing LIGHTS OUT and Griffin gets all the credit.

    my all-star team:

chris paul, deron williams, russell westbrook, kobe bryant, kevin durant, manu ginobli, carmelo anthony, dirk nowitzki, pau gasol, blake griffin, tim duncan, zach randloph

you can obviously make great arguments for kevin love, monta ellis, lamar odom and a few others.

    My all star dream team:

Earl Watson, Ronnie Price, Andrei Kirilenko, Jeremy Evans, Fransisco Elson.

With Deron Williams, Raja Bell, CJ Miles, Paul Millsap, Al Jefferson, Gordon Hayward and Mehmet Okur coming off the bench.

Fesenko is the injury reserve, and the coach is Jerry Sloan.

I might be a little biased.

If hes my 3rd best SG probably yes

Knicksboy you dont ge the term bandwagon, bandwagon is when people like a team just cause of success, there are tons of bandwagon LAL fans, bandwagon NY fans and Boston and especially Miami fans . GSW had them beack in 07 but after that they lost them. If your a die hard fan of a team that doesnt have a mega star on a really good team or a team on a hot streak (w’s 07) you are likely not a bandwagon. The Clips are on a hot streak and have Griffin and are in LA, they are picking quite a few bandwagon fans . What your referring to is a home team biased, not bandwagon fans

How does Gordon deserve it more? He doesnt carry a team and isnt playing as well as Monta

    My west team

    PG: CP3, DWill,

    SG: Kobe, Monta, Manu

    SF: Melo? (tradeed?), Durant

PF: Gasol, Griffin, Odom (LA bump)

C: Duncan (need a spur), Love

    East

PG: Rose, Rondo, Felton (NY bump)

    SG: Wade,

    SF: LBJ, Granger

    PF: Amare , Boozer, Bosh

    C: Howard

I see it playing out as follows

    East                                        West

    ———————————————

    Rose                                        CP3

    Wade                                       Kobe

    LBJ                                          Durant

    Amare                                      Melo

Dwight                                      Pau(Yao’s out, and Pau moves to C as he’s played mostly there anyways)

    Reserves-

    Parker,D.Will,Westbrook,Dirk,Manu,LO,Love.

    ————————————————————

Rondo,KG,Booz,Felton,Pierce,Granger,Bosh(I think coaches are going to see his 19-8 as him being good enoughto do that with two SUPERSTARS)

    5. Will Kevin Love make the All-Star Game and do you buy that Lamar Odom has more votes?

No and Yes. Odom has had mostly an excellent season for the Lakers. They are contenders, he has always been someone who is team first, stats later, and fully deserves to make it. Love is having an astronomical season rebounding the ball, but 9-30 is 9-30. No 9-30 teams ever get allstars.

Really?…

Absolutely not. I am a HUGE Griffin can. And the Clips have been winning ball games lately. But have you watched the Mavs without Dirk? He is a legit MVP candidate and absolutely deserves an all star nod. He is having an amazing season, and out of all the really good teams, there might not be one with a bigger first to second best player dropoff than Dallas.

    3. Will the Lakers have 3 players as starters in the All-Star game? Melo may be traded by then, leaving the next forward to start, being Pau Gasol. Yao is out so Bynum has a chance to win the spot. And Kobe is Kobe.

Kobe, Gasol, Odom. Very possibly these 3 could make it. Dont see Bynum in there unless he wins voting.

    2. Will the 5 immediate backups at each position for the Eastern All-Stars be the Celtics starters? Garnett behind Stoudemire. Pierce behind LeBron. Allen behind Wade. Rondo behind Rose. Shaq behind Dwight.

KG, Yes. Rondo Yes, Pierce probably, Allen maybe, Shaq no. Theres too many good players in the Eastern conference to put Shaq on there just to have a true "center".

SMH.

Russ should be ahead of him…and maybe Parker. Vince is getting fan votes as is Kidd. Kevin Martin is truely showing how the general public sees nothing in Ellis. He is really really good scorer. He shouldnt be an all star. But behind Kevin Martin? Wow, that surprises me.
