Embiid, Noel, 2015 3rd pick, Dario Saric and the potential for 4 first round picks next year could hold the key to something special in Philly provided they don’t go crazy and break it up again. From what I could see out of Embiid, he looks legit and as Noel matures and adds more weight to his frame, he looks like a defensive force. Saric can come off the bench as PF, great passer, high IQ with great potential. What becomes interesting is the potential for drafting four first round picks in 2016. I would imagine Philly being better, but still a lottery team next year. I would also imagine the lakers being better with Randle returning and the potential of adding towns/okafur. I honestly cannot see the heat as a lottery team again and OKC should be much better with Durant returning and a full off season to heal. I don’t think we’ll see the benefits of Hinkie’s plan for another couple years, but should be very interesting.

They missed out huge this year, a week before playoffs it looked like they were a chance to have the Miami and OKC pick’s as steal with the injuries to Bosh and Durant. With this draft being deep they could have added great strength to their roster and be a year ahead. They also had a 20% shot at the lakers pick, which they obviously missed out on.

Next year all those teams will be significantly better and the draft at this stage does not appear as deep. The lakers have Randle and Kobe back with the addition of Towns/ Okafor, Miami if they can re-sign Dragic will have Bosh back as well and obviously Durant is a massive inclusion for OKC with a deeper roster than they had for the majority of this year.

The only positive for Philly is they still get their guy with the 3rd pick, it would be a hard place to come back from if they slipped to 5th. It has definitely placed Philly a few years back in their strategy. Next year will be intruiging for philly fans, as you stated they will likely have all four picks and have a chance to develop Embiid and Noel. Hopefully it is not too long before we get to see Saric. Still an exciting future for philly.

I was so relieved when Miami got the 10th pick. The Wolves would’ve traded the 11th pick in the draft for Thad Young.

The fact that it’s almost a certainty that they’ll get 4 first round picks next year is pretty incredible.  Having said that, I feel like next year’s draft is supposed to be pretty weak relative to the past few, and the only pick that’s likely to be a great pick is their own.  The Lakers pick could possibly end up being a top 10 pick, but that could change depending on what they do this offseason.

They have some interesting talent on their roster with Embiid, Saric, Noel, and likely Russell/Mudiay, but none of them are really slam dunk prospects IMO.  Embiid would be, but he seems to have serious injury concerns.

It’s going to be interesting to see how this all plays out.  I can’t imagine they’ll keep Hinkie if the team is still crap after like 5 years on the job.  They need to start showing some improvement.

I think that while the draft may be pretty weak up top (after Simmons, Labissiere and Brown), it isn’t below-average in the mid-late first round, where most of the Sixers picks will be anyway,

So many potential 2015 first-round picks returned: Kris Dunn, Melo Trimble, Jakob Poeltl, EC Matthews, Buddy Hield, Brice Johnson, Damian Jones, Isaiah Taylor and Troy Williams (+ there are always several surprises), I think these Sixers picks can be valuable and will have a lot of trade value (I don’t think that the sixers need 4 more rookies in 2016, especially with Saric probably coming).

I agree that next year’s draft will be pretty weak overall.  If I was the sixers I would look into trading 2 firsts in 2016 and possibly a 2nd rounder or two for another pick this year.  The lottery is loaded with quality talent, and even a great shooter later in the round like R.J. Hunter would be a great pick up for them.  A team like the Thunder or Jazz would defenitley listen to offers considering their rosters are already loaded.  A team in the top 10 might even be willing to listen if the Lakers pick is included.
