rileymcshea3ParticipantThis trade is more of a filler for teams, but give me your opinions
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=m599axp
Nuggets get Eric Gordon, Rockets get Ryan Anderson, Hornets get Wilson Chandler and Omar Asik
Nuggets lost Andre Iguodala this off season and get Eric Gordon to take over that SG position.
Rockets get their stretch 4 to space the floor for a guy named Dwight
Hornets get Wilson Chandler to fill in that SF position and play off to allow Tyreke and Jrue run the offense. Asik gives them some more defense along Anthoy Davis downlow.
Like I said earlier this is a team needs deal, and Hornets might not take it simply because Eric Gordon is more talented then Chandler and Asik.

rileymcshea3ParticipantMy bad about saying the Hornets, I meant the pelicans, the trade machine got me thinking they were still the hornets

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantLike you say this is probably something the Hornets won’t take because they will get the short end of the stick. IMO Gordon and Anderson are the two best players in the deal and they’re losing both of them.
I do feel like Houston will try to move Asik for a stretch 4 though. Asik proved last year that he was a good starting center in the league and should not be relegated to the bench but doesn’t really have the skill set to operate next to Dwight. That being said his contract (which pays him $15 million in the third and final year of the deal) makes him a little bit trickier to get rid of. Houston does have some young guys like T Jones or Motiejunas they could package with him in order to sweeten the pot.

Mad MaxParticipantI like the trade in theory, but NOLA will need more since they’re giving up the two best players. Maybe throw in Jordan Hamilton and Dontas Montiejunas and a draft pick to NOLA to sweeten the deal.

Have it on strong authority Pelicans not only haven’t talked to Rockets about Asik sign-and-trade but likewise have no interest in him0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/05/2013 - 8:19pm #814700
