“Yes, Melo’s shots are new this year as well.”

“big blocks get sent into the crowd and not into the invisible wall like before. I’ve seen one get sent halfway up the lower bowl. ”

“I thought I already posted this, but since people are asking, yes, Kobe has new sig jumpers and they look nice”

“DRose is my boy too. he got hooked up with a new J, his signature floater, and dunk package. Bulls are sick this year”

“t-mac has a new shot. Not sure how much PT he’ll be getting next year though. So close to being a bull! ”

“all kinds of nice blocks this year, including chase downs. ”

    “Yes. KD has new shots.”

“I agree, didn’t care for Bron’s shot last year at all either. Several shots were re-done, including his. Looks way better. ”

    Lebrons rating is 97
    Dirks is 83
    Wades is 96

I’m gonna have an absolute blast playing with that Sonics team. I hope that Payton can really get into guys defensively and back people down like he used to do. Also, how much fun would it be to play with one of those Sacramento teams from the early 2000’s? Or maybe that Magic team from 1994-1995?

Very very, That Bibby-Webber duo was dynamic…plus that team also had specialist tyoe players like Peja and Christie on the wings and a very skilled center in Divac. Too bad they got cheated by Donaghy and crew. they were soo fun to watch.

On a side note, I wonder why 2K stopped at the ’98 Bulls team and didn’t include the seasons MJ was a Wiz.

All of the classic teams are there because they’re needed for the Jordan Challenges. As far as including MJ in his Wiz days, I think that 2K could have added a couple of challenges. He does hold the NBA record for most points scored in a game by someone 40+, so that’s one challenge right there.

I wonder how come they didn’t put the 93-94 and 94-95 Houston Rockets on the game?

I think they should’ve put the 97-98 Pacers on there… They took the Bulls to 7 games in the ECF’s that year.

Overall ratings mean nothing. I believe Dirks rating was 84 last year and he still put up +20 and +8 rbs a game.

I was gonna post this but I wanted to leave it for Jammin. Lol
They also have released information much earlier this year which is great. Mike Wang is back on board and everything. There even answering twitter questions! Thats why I think this will be the best basketball sim game ever.

I agree with you… Overall rating doesn’t mean a whole lot… I mean, I can find a way to go to work with a 60 rated player.

Dirk probably isn’t rated that high because his speed, quickness, vertical, dunks, steals, blocks, defensive awareness, etc aren’t that high. His offensive stats are off the hook though, which is what he’s all about. I’ll give somebody 40+ with Dirk lol… Jab, pumpfake, stepback… Money!

In the grand respect of things though, I wonder what Kobe is rated if LeBron and Wade are 97 and 96?

It’s also good to hear they’ve tweaked the jumpers. LeBron’s was garbage in 2K10 and so was Derrick Rose’s jumper/floater.

I hope they improve the Draft Combine this year. I’m gonna cry if they give my guy a rating lower than BJ Mullens again. I understand he’s not supposed to start out great or anything, but is a starting rating in the high 50’s/low 60’s too much to ask?

I can’t wait to see the downloadable content. More classic teams?

Co-sign with you on the D-League. 9 times out of 10, when something like that is implemented in a game for the first time, it’s gonna underwhelm. I’m expecting big improvements in 2K11. At least real rosters and coaches, or the ability to update your D-League rosters through online downloads or play with D-League teams in Quick Play.

i would be happy if they just took random players from the free agent list when you start a season for all i care…just as long as every other player doesnt look the same and get 4 year contracts to be a benchwarmer, and the cpu actually using the league would be cool

I heard they were going to make a Jordan career mode, but I am wondering the logistics of doing that with only a handful of older teams. Will Michael have to go up against the more modern NBA players, or will it just be kind of a mock NBA thing? Should be interesting to see what they do. Would it not be cool to be able to pick certain guys again in the draft? I am sure people here would die from excitement if they could pick Len Bias. Well, just wanted to know if anyone could clear the Jordan mode up. Is it just going to be Michael in the Finals or during significant situations in his career, or are you actually going to be able to start from Day 1 until retirement?

The crux of my visit with 2K was to check out the Jordan Challenge mode, which puts players in the shoes of Michael Jordan and his teammates during 10 of Jumpman 23’s most illustrious games. But it isn’t enough just to win those games — a subset of challenges task players with repeating certain historical elements of each showdown, like scoring a certain amount of points, holding opposing players to a certain amount of points and even achieving certain field goal percentages. As I clumsily made my way through a few of these games, it became apparent that, damn, it musta been hard to be MJ.

Being my first time going hands-on with NBA 2K11, I was shocked at how skilled the CPU players were. Make a bad pass and you’ll pay for it; linger too long on a jump shot and watch it get swatted — starting to sense a theme here? Aimlessly playing was kind of like being slapped across the face with a limp, wet fish: painful, humiliating and just a tad bit slimy. The awareness of these players was startling.

But they were the best of the best in their day — classic teams who had made it to the world’s stage, ready to take on MJ and his Bulls — and it’d been a while since I dished the virtual rock. I screwed up passes, charged guys like crazy and pulled lay-ups with the kind of grace … well, with the kind of grace you’d expect from somebody who got slapped in the face by a wet fish. And even through all of that, through all of the flubs and embarrassing mistakes in front of the 2K reps who looked on as I played, no doubt wondering how I got this job, I had fun.

It’s in large part due to the controls, which admittedly didn’t feel as intuitive as when I played NBA Elite 11 but were streamlined and easy to grasp in their own right. Holding the left trigger, I was able to use the left analog stick to do cross-ups and maneuver around the court — for the most part, what I had in my head wasn’t too hard to realize on the hardwood. Hitting the right trigger turned on the turbo juice. Using the right analog stick as the shot stick, it wasn’t long before I was awkwardly faking out guys mid lay-up and pulling no-look passes. My game may not have been the prettiest, but I’ll be damned if it wasn’t technical.

After spending some time in a few of the Jordan Challenge games, I was shown the ultimate reward: drafting MJ into today’s NBA. Upon completion of Jordan Challenge, players will be able to place MJ on the team of their choosing (I went with the 76ers, to rep my hometown) as a rookie. In this mode, you can only play as MJ — when he’s subbed out, you can sim the game until he comes back in — and you’re given a live grade on how he’s clicking with the team. If you’re a ball hog, you’ll get a poor score, and you won’t get many points to dump into his attributes (said points effectively letting you shape Jordan into the type of player you want him to be).

Stepping away from my session, it was obvious that NBA 2K fans will have a lot to excite them here — the Jordan Challenge mode is just that: a challenge. The replay value is there, and thanks to better contextual animations and improved presentation (thanks in no small part to that ex-TNT producer they brought on), it would seem NBA 2K11 isn’t going to simply sit in the corner and watch NBA Elite 11 prance around the ring. If they follow through on the promise to address server instability, it’s going to be hard to usurp NBA 2K11 as the premiere basketball game this year. EA, ball’s in your court now.

This is a MUST. I’m tired of the lagging, connection problems, etc online. I can’t tell you how many games I’ve lost online because my players were lagging while the dude’s I was playing was moving fast.

How did you get this gig? Sounds awesome man, what did you think of Live Elites new control format? Is it really as evolutionary to basketball games as they are claiming it to be? I like that Jordan mode, that could be pretty cool, though of course so would starting off with Mike as a rookie in 1984, though I know how difficult that would be to set up. Still, well done man, I am looking forward to the game, though I have always been more of a franchise/association person myself, I am sure the Jordan mode will be something I will have to try out.

In NBA2K10 you can change the minutes per game for my player. Go to the options in the mode, go to presentation and you will see it.
