1)Am I wrong in thinking and advocating that terrence jones should and will play small forward in the NBA? dude was a point guard till his sophmore year of hs I believe and is now 6"9 so theres no doubt hes got the handles. Awkward jump shot but its not like thats such a terrible thing plus in todays game hes an ideal SF I feel like

    2) Ignoring Lance Stephensons rookie year between getting in trouble off the court non stop during the start of the season and then having a coach who favored non rookies pretty much on a team that had more depth than anyone in the NBA but not quality depth if you know what I mean adding up to Stephens not getting much PT and then when he did Granger got pissed and Stephenson lost his minutes pretty much. If you check out their roster the pacers have like 3 guys at every position but its not like theyr the kinda guys where you say oh Id like to have that guy theyr just somewhat random guys. But considering/ignoring all that do you think he has an acceptable second year whenever the leagues back up and running averaging around 10ppg which would be a good 2nd year in my opinion

Addressing question #1: At least right now, I don’t think that Jones can play the 3.  His handles aren’t good enough at the moment, as he turns the ball over frequently when he tries to go right.  He also moves like a big man and lacks the quickness to defend NBA threes effectively or beat them off the dribble.  Plus, his shot is really inconsistent, and he has a slow release.  His biggest strength is his rebounding, which is more important for the 4 than the 3.

Jones must of played PG in a very bad classification..he has back center handles..seen way too many times him dribbling off his foot or turning the ball over, and I’m a UK fan..BUT staying in college another year will def help him. Good decesion.

Terrence Jones is a little too slow to play SF and I know they say Anthony Davis played PG but I don’t remember hearing it about Jones, If he works on his ball handling and footwork I do think he can play SF but without it he is a tweener in the bad way. On a side note he has no chin.

If you look this site has it on their notes that he began his high school career as a point guard, however that was way before he grew six inches and was a high-major prospect.

I don’t know if he’s really right now to play the 3 in the league, that being said he’s going to have to become more of a wing player if he wants to be drafted high and successful.  At times he has flashes of brilliance and reminds me of Lamar Odom.  He’s young enough he can put it together and it says something that he wanted to return to school.

I don’t know if he’ll ever be a good fit for the Pacers.  I’d like to see him moved somewhere he can have an opportunity to shine.  They have too many players at the guard position and he’s on a short leash.

    1. T. Jones does need to work on his ball handling, but I think for him to be successful in the NBA he has to be a SF. Even though he gets a lot of rebounds, he gets them by being bigger and more athletic than a lot of college players. At the NBA level that will not be the case. He doesn’t play strong down low and will get out powered by NBA pf’s… either get tougher or work on ball handling to be hybrid type sf. I think he is more of a finese player and will take the SF route.

    2. Lance Stephenson will fizzle out and will not be in NBA in a couple years if not sooner.
