    1 Steal 1 Bust
Who is your one steal and your one bust from the 2009 draft?
I see Dejuan Blair as a bust because in college he is just stronger than people. He gets his points and rebounds by being a bully. In the NBA he wont be able to do that because he is undersized and won’t dominate people with his stregnth.
The steal in the draft will be Lester Hudson. He will see some instant minutes and contribute right away. He may be the Anthony Murrow of next year. He is a smart player and can play both guard positions but he is a primary point guard.

    Runner up:
    Bust- BJ Mullens
    Steal- Dionte Christmas

Im a big Lester Hudson guy too,he is a sleeper who I think will be a good producer. The sleeper to look out for besides him is Sherron Collins and the high profile player that looks the most like a bust to me is of course Rubio (if he declares this year), and besides him Gani Lawal

Jorrye you straight hate Rubio. To me I think the player with the most upside in this years draft class that hardly gets any attention is Patrick Patterson. The dude is an NBA Starting PF from the minute he’s drafted. He’ll shine his competition for years to come. The biggest bust to me is Mullens. I dont think He’ll be half the player he was in hs going to the nba.

I agree with the Blair bust because I just see Robert “The Tractor” Traylor all over again. For my other bust i’d have to say Earl Clark, I just don’t see him doing too much in the league. And for my steal i’d say Terrence Williams if he goes as late as this site says he will, because he has lottery talent imo.

I dont think Clark will be a bust. Since Rudy Gay isnt a bust Earl Clark wont be. They have the same skill sets and body. I believe in him

Earl Clark isnt even close to as skilled as Gay maybe as athletic Clark cant shoot and he has no handle so he cant play SF he reminds me of Julian Wright and he is too weak to play PF in the league

I guess you haven’t watched much of Earl Clark….he can’t dribble but yet he reminds you of Julian Wright, riiiight. He actually has above average handles for a SF, as does Wright.

What!!!! Yeah neither can dribble thats why Wright gets no PT cause he cant handle the rock well enough to make offensive moves and Clark will get exposed in the same way (by the way not literally cant dribble)

    Quoted from nbadraft.net

“His versatility sets him apart from most small forwards as he has the ball handling and passing ability to create shots for himself and teammates”

    Quoted from draftexpress.com

    “Clark’s biggest assets—his athleticism and ball-handling skills”

“His offensive game begins with his dribble-drive game, as he takes his man off the dribble with ease going either left or right”

    get it straight billy boy

Man yall dudes on this website rely to much on these draft websites I have watched them both (Wright and Clark) play and neither of them can get their own shot off the dribble. Watch Clark play and you can see he can only dribble by other teams power fowards thats why players like him and Julian Wright get drafted so high because people overrate these players abilities

Look at the history of this website and they have made alot of mistakes about player comparisons and players NBA abilities over the years

JT is going to be one of the best players drafted in this class. He is completely going underneath the radar. Third leading scorer in the NATION! He is a scoring machine!

Byron Scott was thinking about letting Julian Wright play backup point in the preseason, he doesnt have a bad handle and he is a good passer. Just because you dont make shots off the dribble doesnt mean your not a good ball handler, it could just mean your not a good shooter off the dribble. When have you ever seen Clark or Wright get their shot blocked or the ball stripped from them when dribbling. I have never seen that happen to them, honestly.

Hansbrough and Darren Collison, I wouldn’t take either one of them if there were 3 rounds in the draft. Collison is just terrible and has absolutely nothing to offer as an NBA PG. Hansbrough plays below the rim and just throws his shot puts up at the backboard and then outhustles everyone for the putback, can’t wait to see how that works out for him at the NBA level. The funniest thing to me about Hansbrough is that his biggest attribute all these years is going to be his biggest detriment in the NBA. He has always been great because he is a maniacally hard player. How do you think his over aggressive everyday play is going to go over with his teammates in practice? This is the NBA….considering that the only run he’s going to get will be in practice, he’s going to drive his teammates crazy with that bullshit. What starting PF is going to want to go to practice and deal with this moron everyday when he is just trying to stay on point for an 82 game season? What Hansbrough should do but he won’t is just go straight to Europe where he could put up the same numbers that he does in College be a God to the fans of whatever team he plays for and make a ton of Euros.

I think a steal is going to be AJ Price. Offfensively he has a pro game already, imo he is the most NBA ready PG coming out this year. I love the pace that he plays at, he’s almost always under control he understands spacing so well, has very underrated court vision, awareness and passing skills. By far is the best shooter off the dribble of any PG coming out this year.

Possibly Marcus Thornton from LSU, personally really like him. His game is kind of street and fundamental with a nice jumper and he’s a very strong guard.

Since when is hustle and aggresiveness (even over) been a detrement for a player in any sport? Hansbrough’s hustle and intensity is what’s gonna probably get him first round money. Trust me every coach in the NBA/CBA/NBDL/NCAA and any other basketball association on the planet will take a player that gives it his all all the time (even in practice) the some talented prima donna that thinks the world revolves around them (alot of those guys in the NBA). As for the original post I think the sleeper in the draft Evan Turner, he has the next Brandon Roy written all over him. As far as the bust go I think Jordan Hill, he has the next Stromile Swift written all over him.

I agree with you the NBA is full of prima donnas which is one of the main reasons for my opinion. I also agree with you that every other league that you mentioned hard practices are valued, but not the NBA. Once training camp is over practices in the NBA are nothing like College, etc. The main focus is just staying in shape and injury free. Hansbrough is a bull in a china shop and I stand by my opinion that no PLAYER is going to want to be bothered with him on a daily basis. Coaches might like it at first until he starts sending the whole team to the IR.
