NBA Comparison: Ronald Murray

Matthew Maurer – 1/21/2007

Strengths: Lewis possesses a NBA ready body of that is stronger than most players his size in college Add to that his solid body control and he becomes capable of converting some difficult finishes around the basket Explosive scorer who can single handedly drop serious points Has three point range on his jump shot Intelligent player who plays with great court savvy Excels at driving to the basket and drawing fouls by creating contact on defenders Shows a solid pull-up jumper off the dribble Possesses a scorers mentality and is very aggressive at attacking the defense Clutch player who can make big shots in critical moments of games Underrated rebounder who does a good job using his upper body strength Is a hard player for bigger opposing players to post up due to his upper body strength Defensively he has all the physical tools to develop into a solid defender, except great size

Weaknesses: Defensively Lewis plays just average defense despite his athletic gifts Rarely does he play defense with much intensity nor does he attempt to play the passing lanes consistently Known for being a streaky shooter who can go through extended periods of hot/cold Doesnt always get full separation from his defender, it is not unusual for Lewis to have his defender on his back on his drives to the basket This questions his overall quickness as most of his defenders recover rather quickly Has yet to learn how to utilize the mid-range jumpshot Either he shoots threes or drives to the basket, often there is no mid-range While not terrible, Lewis is not the greatest ball handler Has yet to show that he possesses the necessary court vision to create scoring opportunities for his teammates Settles too much for the jumper instead of driving the lane Can go through times in games where his shot selection can be questionable
