Strengths: 2-guard with prolific offensive skills … Excellent outside shooter with good range … Has a scorers mentality and knows how to score in a variety of ways … Fundamentally sound … Solid in his midrange game with a quick release and good shooting mechanics … Excels at catch and shoot. Also knows how to create shots for himself off the dribble. A decent athlete, though nothing outstanding … Plays with a lot of maturity and composure, not easily rattled and steps up in clutch situations … Excellent free throw shooter … Solid defensively, although he doesn’t pick up a lot of steals, he stays in front of his man and puts forth good effort … Has a solid understanding of the game and plays well in a team concept …

Weaknesses: Not especially long or athletic. A shade under 6-5 … Could struggle to find the same success creating shots against bigger and more athletic opponents at the next level … Has struggled some in his senior season with defenses no longer having to focus their attention to Nick Fazekas and keying their attention around Kemp. Making matters more difficult is the loss of point guard Ramon Sessions who was able to set Kemp up for shots. Kemp’s shooting percentages are likely to drop off as he’ll be forced to take more difficult shots … Not a great passer. Lacks the vision to consistently set up teammates for baskets … Must cut down on turnovers. His ball handling isn’t where it needs to be … At a disadvantage playing in the WAC as his statistics aren’t as highly regarded against lesser competition … Knee injury caused him to miss his sophomore year. He has rebounded with 2 solid seasons since then but the concern for his knee is still there …
