NBA Comparison: N/A

Aran Smith – 9/13/2006

Strengths: Precocious player with excellent size and point guard instincts Really understands the game well for a young PG and excels at passing the ball and finding teammates His size makes him very intriguing as a 6-5 point guard, as he can double as a 2G as well as cause size mismatches and see over defenders running the point Good defender, has excellent foot speed, especially laterally (drew a charge on Leandro Barbosa, one of the quickest guards in the world) A solid athlete who is equally adept in the half court as well as in an up tempo game A decent outside shooter, also scores well on the move with a nice repertoire of mid range shots Shows excellent creativity and vision Good ball handler

Weaknesses: Lacks experience playing at a high level, although he had a great opportunity to shine in a starting role for the Lithuanian National Team at the 2006 World Championships Still hasnt fully matured physically. Needs to add a lot of strength to his body Added strength will allow him to take the ball inside and become a more effective rebounder Must become better shooting the 3, has good touch but needs consistency.

Notes: Another in a growing line of recent big European point/combo guards Impressed NBA scouts at the 2006 Reebok Euro Camp in Treviso, Italy … Started at point guard for the 2006 Lithuanian National Team at the World Championships in Japan and helped lead them to a 7th place finish.
