2quick4uParticipantMVP:
1. DURANT: he’s become the most complete player in the game, by far…there’s no other player as dominant in both ends and that can contribute in as many sections as him while reflecting all that in wins..in this era of unicorns, the real one is not Anteto, Porzingis, Davis, Markannen or Simmons..the real unicorn is Kevin Durant.
2. HARDEN: he’s numbers are great but are not as impressive in today’s era as if he played in other decade. Let’s be real here, all the inflated numbers players have today are due to one thing:PACE
as good as his numbers are, he shooting less than 45% FG and is turning the ball over 4.3 times a game..still the sum of his numbers plus the wins of his team results in him beeing at nº2.
3. CURRY: if Curry is at nº3 is only because he’s already missed 13 games, if not he should be at nº2…Curry&Durant are just so good that is unfair for the rest…when you have the 2 best and most efficient players playing for the best team, there’s nothing much the rest can do but pray…
4. K.IRVING: he’s putting up very good stats in an efficient way while being part of the best defense in the league and the best team in the east.
5. DEROZAN: he keeps improving every year, this one is shooting the ball better than ever at 48% while shooting more triples then ever, and all this while making the raptors the most complete team in the east and the best candidate to dethrone the cavs.
6. L.JAMES: it’s amazing the fact that at 33 he’s still putting up these type of stats, but nothing that other legends like Chamberlain, kareem, Jordan, Kobe or even an unathletic guy like Nash have not done before..plus Lebron is benefiting from playing in the era where numbers are inflated because of the pace..
truth is as impressive as his stats are, he plays no defense anymore and his teams can’t compete against top teams..
7. G.ANTETOKOUNMPO: he started the year like if he was possessed from a greek god, but he’s playing like a human lately and as good as he is, he’s showing he still has flaws in his game and still can’t make he’s team a top one..but well he’s still 22 and that’s scary.
8. K.TOWNS: he started the year slowly, like his team, but in the last 6 weeks he’s showing he belongs to the top10 list, and as good as Butler is, Towns is the main reason the Wolves are ranked at nº4 in the west.
9. OLADIPO: this man has exploded big time and is not only having great stats with great efficiency but is taking a mediocre team to the playoffs without any excuses.. Davis and cousins should learn a bit from him.
10. EMBIID: when Embiid is healthy he impact in both ends like few in the league can..this year he’s even improving his percentages while shooting more and while taking his team for the playoffs for the moment..
DPOY:
1. A.HORFORD: his defensive stats might not be flamboyant and people don’t like that in an era where every one has video game stats..but that’s the difference, some players have "super heroe" stats that don’t reflect in wins while others have "human stats" that really impact the game, like Horford.
he should get the award as he’s the anchor of the best defensive team in the league and the nº1 team in the east.
2. DURANT: he’s become the most complete player in the league and now can also impact games on defense..him and Green are both right there, but i think Durant has been more consistent and is having career year in blocks.
3/4. GREEN/EMBIID: i think there’s a tie here..Green is playing tough like always but Embiid is the main reason for the Sixers being the 5th best defense in the league..but wins also have to be taken into account, that’s why the tie.
5. CAPELA: it seems like no one is talking much about this man, when he’s one of the main reasons of houston´s success..in fact if it wasn’t for him, houston would be a totally different team..he’s having a border line all-star season and he is their key to have a chance to compete for the finals.
MIP:
1. V.OLADIPO: i think there’s no competition at this award..as many good surprises as there’s been this year, no one can match up with Oladipo´s year..Porzingis, Dunn, Gordon, J.Murray, Warren, Ingram or even Anteto..all having great years but can’t compete for the award, as long as Oladipo keeps like this.. this is what happens when you unleash a beast out of Westbrook´s jail.
6th MOY:
1. L.WILLIAMS: i think that as long as he stays elegible for the award, there’s no other candidate…only if he doesn’t, then Gordon would take it.
ROY:
1. D.MITCHELL: i guess not a popular election but this kid is been averaging 23ppg/3.5rb/3.5ast/1.7st/48’5% FG/86% FT in the last 2 months…and what’s most important, he’s already become the best player on the team at 19…he looks like a more athletic and efficient Lillard..
2. B.SIMMONS: yes he sure is having great all around stats and probably better than expected but again, in today´s NBA those type of stats are not that impressive, specially when you are a 6’10 point guard/forward…i mean even Drummond is averaging 4 ast a game…as young as Simmons is and as much time as he has to correct them, he still has many flaws in his game that really need work..
3. TATUM: when someone is big part and a big reason of the success of his team, he absolutely needs recognition, and Tatum should stand at nº3, at least…he looks like an Otto Porter clone already, with the difference that Porter is only 19 and has much more room to grow plus has the clutch gen.
4. MARKKANEN: everyone that saw him play at eurobasket is no surprised with him and is playing as expected but in the last 10 games the kid is looking even better, averaging 18ppg/8rb/3.5 triples/48% FG/90% FT and if Mirotic get traded he should improve those even more..
5. L.Ball: i guess most people would have Kuzma in their top 5, but for me Lonzo deserves to be here as he’s clearly changed the franchise; as many critics as he gets, the team wins more games with him and the lakers are a top 10 defensive team when he’s on the court.
watch out for Lonzo after the all-star, because his numbers could improve big time.

holefillers1ParticipantI watched Embiid make Horford look foolish the other night. A couple times he didn’t even make an attempt to defend.
Embiid is a vastly superior defender as all stats indicate.
Also Mitchell has no chance to win ROY as his team will not make the playoffs.

frogmanParticipantWithout looking it up I’d say the majority of rookie of the year winners did not make the playoffs that year. It’s not exactly a pre-requisite of the award.

Celtics3178ParticipantNot saying horford is the dpoy but philly only scored 89 that night and Embiid can’t win an award when he’s missed as much time as he has this year already

SubZeroParticipantPaul George deserves DPOY love. I honestly believe he’s as good of a defender as there is in the league but he doesn’t get the shine that Kawhi and Draymond get

FritzParticipantI think J Butler is more responsible for the wolves being a 4 seed than Towns. Most wolves fans would agree. Butler has been amazing and has been the leader of the team and carrying them in the clutch many games.

jerb2011ParticipantRussell Westbrook will be averaging a triple-double again, and the Thunder will finish as a top 3 seed. He will win back to back MVP.
