Do not think we need the rest of the article, and these measurements will soon be public to everyone. Still cool to see what happened today.

Pistol Pete. The PelicanParticipantI was just about to post them. Thanks my man! Now let the conversations and predictions begin!!!
I love high all of the point guards are measuring bigger. Burke 6’1, Kabongo 6’3, Seth Curry 6’3, of course Carter-Williams 6’6, Siva 6’1, and Pressey 6’0, and Pierre Jackson, 5’11. Liking that!

machu46ParticipantMan, I’m blown away that Siva came out at 6’1″ in shoes… he always looked like 5’10” at best to me lol.
Big measurements for Burke (he’s at least the same size as CP3 was) and MCW (just freakish size, and maybe just as important, measured out at 185 LBs, which is still skinny for someone his height, but isn’t anorexic lol).
And I’m just in disbelief with Nerlens Noel’s weight… he better be able to prove that’s only because of the injury.
Also, Shane Larkin’s lack of height and even worse wingspan doesn’t bode well for his stock at all IMO.

XYRYXParticipantThe weight of some of the prospects are really interesting to me.
Noels 206 and his body fat really raise the question if he can ever put on more weight to bang under the basket. A red flag to me now. How should his knee resist all the pressure while beeing almost 7 feet tall without some strength?
Schröder is the lightest player from all. Interesting how he will hold his own in drills and and workouts against the other prospects.
Adams and Tony Mitchell came out as the biggest winner to me. Beasts.
Oladipo and B-Mac both have a reported max vertical of 42 BUT Cahd Ford teeted this:
Oladipo 3.25 sec & McLemore 3.27 similar sprint scores. Oladipo 10.69 much better than McLemore 11.87 on agility drill #NBACombine
Victor could have been an inch taller but looks like the way better athlete of both and is listed with 214 pounds – wow!!!

mikeyvthedonParticipantMeasuring with a 5-10 wingspan is damn small. Lucky that he is super athletic, should excel there, just think it relegates him to definite 2nd round status. Shabazz’s measurements surprise me 0. Rudy Gobert is insanely long, he seemingly helped himself. Still think that kid will get bodied, his upper body strength seems to be majorly lacking. Ben McLemore measuring 6-3.5 w/o shoes bothers me WAY less than Nerlens measuring at 206 lbs.
Everyone was talking about Zeller’s short arms, but Olynyk far outdid him on that one. He measured with a longer standing reach, still think Cody will kill him in athletic testing, running. Schroeder’s measurements show his relatively freakish dimensions, monster hands as well. Nothing to insane, again, highly promote the use of the +1.25 system of just adding an inch and a quarter to "height with shoes". Unless you think Seth Curry goes from 6-1 to 6-3 every time he laces up a pair of Nikes 🙂

GottaBeTheShoesParticipantIf Roberson could’ve added that 2 inches that curry did then it would’ve helped him a lot.. Roberson shoes were one of the few .75 inches. would’ve been 6’8.25 in Seth’s shoes. Roberson also had a long Wingspan should help him seeing he plans on being a PF (or at least he went with the PF group)

SiggyParticipantSteven Adams has prototype C size. I could see him playing at 270 without losing any of his athleticism.
Vander Blue is closer to 6’5? Fooled me
KCP’s wingspan is better than advertised.
Canaan’s size is disappointing. I would’ve never guessed that Burke’s bigger than him.
Clyburn and Covington have great size for the wing. Both 2nd round sleepers.
Larkin with a wingspan shorter than his height. Not good.
Olynyk with T-Rex arms too.
Adonis Thomas looks to be in great shape.

mikeyvthedonParticipantSeeing that he is only 206! That freaks me the hell out, he is going to be going up some grown men in the NBA. It just makes him look naturally skinny, plus it looks like it may be exceedingly difficult for him to gain weight. His 206 to me would be a bad number, surprised Ford would rather focus on his measuring a tad taller than Anthony Davis as opposed to saying how this weight must raise some question marks. Especially seeing that he was listed at 228 at Kentucky. Well, not surprised Ford brought up, per se. Just a tad disappointed he would rather stand by his never ending quest to keep Nerlens at the top of his board as opposed to bringing up that this kid is DAMN skinny.

JoeJoParticipantI can’t recall seeing a player with a wingspan a full inch shorter than his height without shoes like Olynyk. A player even having the same wingspan as his height isn’t that common and the T-Rex cases tend to be like Mason Plumlee where their wingspan is something like a quarter inch shorter. But a full inch? Wow. I can’t say I thought that would be the case watching Olynyk play. What does this say about the most famous T-Rex in NBA history, Kevin Willis? Was he like 6’10 without shoes with a winspan of 6’8?
I’m surprised Elias Harris wasn’t invited to the combine. Even though his draft stock has dropped since his freshman year, I thought he was still in the second round mix. He still could be but it’s not too promising that he wasn’t even invited. He wasn’t rejected once but twice because after the initial list came out, three more players were added by the demand of general managers. It’s been quite a fall for him. He could definitely have been a first round pick after his freshman season.
I’m not surprised to see that Grant Jerrett had a very long standing reach for his height. His neck is as short as I’ve ever seen on a player. I can’t think of anybody else shaped like him.
Michael Carter-William’s wingspan is shorter than I expected. I thought he would have a +5 wingspan. A 6’7.5 wingspan is still pretty good for a point guard though. He doesn’t quite measure up physically to a player he’s been compared to, Shaun Livingston. Livingston stood a 1.5 taller and had a 3.75 reach advantage.
Mbakwe is only 6.675 without shoes? I didn’t see that coming. With his long arms, he’s got good total body surface area.
I wished they measured Allen Crabbe’s ears. I hope this didn’t come across as mean. I meant no harm.

XYRYXParticipantAdams really stood out to me, perfect numbers for his frame I think!
KCP is really looking good to. Saw an interview of him and really possesses a very well filled out body. A humble kid imo, compared himself to Shane Battier.
I totally agree with you on Elias Harris. I hope he finds a roster spot next year cause he was the leader of the Gonzaga squad and teams are always looking for a high character guy with energy, power and a well rounded game. Maybe quite a few germans in the league next year: Dirk, Ohlbrecht, Pleiss, Schröder and Harris!!!
Oladipos numbers haven’t been exactly disappointing but an inch more could have helped him a lot but in the end someone I would take in the top 8 without a doubt if I need a wing on my team.

I meant no harm.

tblazer_NZParticipant6’5 without shoes and 6’7 with them will hurt his stock. thought he would be another .75 inches taller.

Chilbert arenasParticipantI’m with you on the height in shoes controversy. So even though Kabongo is 6’1.25 he’ll be listed at 6’3 for the rest of his career senselessly.
Few reasons why I HATE the measurements in shoes :
1.) Yes they play in shoes, but they aren’t always playing in the shoes they’re measured in, air force ones are high heels for men.
2.) They round up the measurements anyway, so why not do height without shoes rounded up or height in shoes rounded down.
3.) They haven’t always done listing in shoe height so someone like Tim Duncan who is actually 6’11 without shoes looks 3 inches taller than Blake Griffin who’s listed at 6’10 because he’s 6’8.5 without shoes, 6’9.5 with shoes, then round up to 6’10.
4.) Height and wingspan should be viewed as relative to each other so there are inconsistencies with the ratio when you add shoes and round up.
And finally do they do the standing reach in shoes?0- Posted on: Thu, 05/16/2013 - 6:44pm #775977
JoeJoParticipantNo way Duncan’s 6’11 without shoes. He never looked like a “NBA seven-footer” to me. It’s not like the Spurs try to downplay his profile or anything. They persisted in listing him as a power forward even though he’s been a center for most of his career after Robinson retired so he’s not historically compared to great centers like Kareem, Hakeem, Wilt, Russell, Shaq, Robinson and so on. Duncan’s certainly an all-timer, a great legend but his shotblocking prowess doesn’t set him apart from centers like it does power forwards.

machu46ParticipantNot sure how accurate it is from back then, but DraftExpress has Duncan listed at 6’11” without shoes.

XYRYXParticipantI have on doubt Duncan is this tall at all. H always looks a little bit smaller because of his crouched posture but back in the days the measurements were made without shoes often and they even listed this hight as the official height.
Thats the reason why guys like Blake Griffin are almost the same size as Duncan but in reality are a few inches shorter. Same with Dwight imo.

Chilbert arenasParticipantPierre Jacksons 7’6 standing reach only makes his dunking ability that much more impressive, I bet he’ll have a top 3 vertical.

GottaBeTheShoesParticipantYeah 7’6 is 1.5 inches lower than what Nate Robinson’s standing reach was at (of course no one believes he’s 5’9 but still)

surveParticipantRichard Howell at 8.8 % bf
CJ Leslie 8%thats weird.
but…give credit to Howell, he was kind of a fat boy a year or two ago and has worked really hard on his weight and gettng lean.
Deshaun Thomas is one guy who I dont think measurements and bf help or hurt him on the offensive side…..you know what you are getting with him and thats a scorer. if someone is looking for him as a heavy rotation player, then defensively…thats a whole other story.
Ray McCallum, no surprises there, pretty much accurate with what his height has always been stated. I like him as a prospect.

omphalosParticipantBazz might have measured in “shorter than expected” but he has got some pretty damn long arms, look at that standing reach! It’s not that far off a lot of the Cs in terms of standing reach.
I’m a bit disappointed Bazz couldn’t get his body fat further down, but that still looks to be a lot less than it was at UCLA.
Just a point on the body fat, he actually measured in with lower body fat than Harrison Barnes did last year after carrying an injury through his second college season, and he has a higher standing reach too.
Also, I am in complete agreement with the “measuring in shoes” debacle, it seems ridiculous to me.
It’s the reason why Kobe at 6’6 looks a hell of a lot bigger than newer players who measured at 6’6.
Also, I’m curious about whether they measure standing reach in shoes or not as well, I guess they must do, considering they do verticals in shoes.
Ledo had good measurements, he’s 6’6 in shoes but a huge standing reach for his height, those long arms are going to help him out immensely at the next level.
Very surprised that McLemore measured in the same height as Bradley Beal with a shorter wingspan, I thought he was a bit taller than that.
Looking forward to the athletic testing, should be really interesting.

JoeWolf1I thought Wolters looked big compared to the other points in the combine, but he’s almost 6’5” in shoes. That will help his cause since he is a bit of a combo or scoring point.

Lotto StudParticipantIn my book Plumlee is the biggest winner as I expected he would be 7’0″. I’m just waiting on his vert test to be around 37 inches or better.

HitsterParticipantNerlens Noel at 206lbs was a worry to me, what happens when he’s going against 260lbs NBA C’s. Sure he is an elite athlete
and will have great leaping ability to get to the rebound or block but he’ll take a pounding unless he can bulk up. Also with him not playing due to his injury you’d think he’d have gained weight through that. The one good thing is that we have seen guys like John Henson get up to 220lbs plus when he was 21 years old so someone like Noel with a similar build could perhaps add weight in the next couple of years. Also Noel’s athleticism will keep his draft stock high so I’d guess he’d still likely go top 3.
Steve Adams was impressive as we all guessed and Rudy Gobert also looked in great condition.
