This is unfortunate for Alexander, but I’m not surprised here… He really hasn’t shown any promise since he was drafted. He was one of those players who shined so bright in workouts, that teams fell in love with him. Alexander is a great athlete, but he doesn’t know how to play basketball.

I think you made some keen observations on Alexander. But lets keep in mind that everyone going into the draft knew he was a project, so Milwaukee, nor anyone else, should be surprised by the short term results. He’s a guy who’s only been playing basketball for a few years and still has a lot to learn.

I personally thought he would have a much better year in 2009-10, but that serious hamstring injury has apparently put an end to that possibility. I watched him one year at WV and thought he was horrendous. Then I saw him the next year against teams like Georgetown and couldn’t believe how much he improved. So I for one haven’t given up on him, but time will tell.

Rtbt hit it on the head. I He’s a guy with a ton of natural ability who needs good coaching and practice reps. Everything about him reminds me of Tom Gugliotta, except he’s a MUCH better athlete. If the Bucks give up on him they’ll regret it in a few years, guaranteed.

yeah he doesnt know how to play basketball ..yet..he is still young and a project…the bucks do want him still they are just saying that hes not worth that 2plus million and i dont blame them for that, if they can keep him for cheaper. the problem from what i hear is that he hasnt gotten much if any better which, even if a player is a project, they show some slight improvement

I thought that the 8th pick was too high for Joe… To see him get drafted ahead of Brook Lopez still brings chills in my spine because I knew that Brook is a way better prospect than Joe… To be impressive in workouts is fine but sometimes people might miss out on some better players in the end…

Alexander is a great athlete.. But his basketball IQ isn’t so great..Shannon Brown was a player that blew teams away in workouts with his athleticism.Never was able to put it all together while he was with Cleveland…Then bounce around a few times until he became a solid player with the Lakers after learning how to really play the game of basketball……Maybe Joe needs to find a team that will bring out the best in him…Like Shannon did with the Lakers

He doesnt have a bad attitude. He is one of the hardest workers in the game and he, like anyone else, thinks he should be getting rewarded for his work. Guys, honestly, if you dont know what you are talking about, why comment on it??

On one memorable occasion he caught a full court outlet pass only to tip it behind him to a cutting teammate.
While his passing has been great, his shooting has been another story.

that being said I think in Milwaukee he is one of the stronger rebounders
