I was just wondering if anyone besides me thought that Dennis Rodman should be in the Basketball Hall of Fame I know he didnt score a lot of points but he has the rings and he played excellent defense and he was a tenacious rebounder. His 13.1 rebounds per game make him the eleventh best player ever in this statistic.

    Career Stats
    7.3 ppg 6,683 Points
    13.1 rpg 11,954 Rebounds
    Assists 1,600

    5x NBA Champion (1989, 1990, 1996, 1997, 1998)
    2x All-Star (1990, 1992)
2x NBA Defensive Player of the Year (1990, 1991)
    2x All-NBA Third Team Selection (1992, 1995)
7x NBA All-Defensive First Team Selection
    7x NBA Rebounding Champion (1992–1998)

I think so. Not being a scorer shouldn’t eliminate anyone from the hall of fame especially when they excel at other parts of the game. He was the best rebounder of the past 30 years and was also a top defender and was major contributor to 5 championship teams. That’s enough in my book.

The guy should be a hall of famer, but I guarantee he will never get in. The NBA has a big thing on image and I think that hurts his case, plus I think later in his career a lot of his off court stuff distracted from how amazing he was. I’m not sure I have ever seen anyone play better defense on Shaquille O’Neal during his best years than Rodman. Looking at the awards, I feel like he must have gotten cheated out of quite a few because he had some really nice years even past his Piston days. On top of everything I loved how the guy gave it his all. He was relentless. On the floor and diving for every ball. He played every game like he was in a contract year.

Unequivically yes. He won all the time, and was the best inch for inch rebounder ever. To get the board he did playing with centers like Zo, Ewing, Robinson, Shaq is just astounding.
