R-Dot-13ParticipantIm going to have a lot of people disagreeing with me, but i think New Orleans will be a top 4 seed this year .
When they are healthy they have a great lineup, with 3 possible all stars this year. (Paul, Okafor, West)
Pkus the have Peja, who with his shooting ability can light it up for 30 any game. Then they have Butler who is a good shooter, and a young guy in Thornton who is a good scorer, plus they have a solid bench, they are top 4 IMO.1. Lakers
2. Portland
3. Spurs
4. Hornets
5. Denver
6. Dallas
7. Utah
8. Golden State/ThunderLakers beat GS/OKC 4-1
Portland beats Utah 4-2
Spurs beat Dallas 4-2
Denver beats Horntes 4-3Lakers beat Denver 4-3
Spurs beat Portland 4-3Lakers beat Spurs 4-3
West conference Champs Lakers.

Daprob89ParticipantThats descent and i respect your opinion but its a couple things im disagreeing on….
Portland is not #2 seed
Lakers would sweep GS or OKC
Lakers wont go 7 games with any western conference team

deshawynkeys91ParticipantCome on basketball ppl… birdzilla/r dot sorry but the G.S.W aren’t going to make the playoffs for that to happen that means a. randolph pretty much has to turn into an all star this year b/c s. jackson along with selfish players (c. maggette) and young players is not enough to make it to the playoffs in the west.
i think its more realistic that houston makes the playoffs before the g.s.w… houston aleast will field a team that plays defence and has alot of tough team first guys that will battle every night the only problem is how are they going to score on a consistant basis…
however i see the Western Conference seeds ending up like this:
1. Lakers
2. Denver
3. S.A
4. Portland
5. New Orleans
6. Dallas
7. Utah
8. Phx. or Lac.( depending on team health)0 - Posted on: Tue, 08/11/2009 - 9:46am #199198
SwatLakeCityParticipant1 Lakers
2 Spurs
3 Nuggets
4 Mavs
5 Blazers
6 Jazz
7 Hornets
8 SunsLakers beat Suns in 5 games, Spurs beat Hornets in 7(they always have a tough time against them), Nuggets beat Jazz in 7(This will probably be the series that everyone will be talking about because of the heated rivalry between the two.) And Mavs beat Blazers in 6.
2nd round Lakers beat Mavs in 6, Spurs beat Nuggets in 6 as well
3rd round Spurs beat Lakers in 7
Finals: Spurs vs Cavs(rematch of 2007 finals, and once again the Spurs win, but Cavs come awfully close. Spurs win Championship in 70 - Posted on: Tue, 08/11/2009 - 10:28am #199235

MagikKnickParticipantTo the Blazers defense, they were the 3rd seed last season, and only have gotten better…

j1232eParticipantis not going balls out in the regular season, they are an older team that will rest the older players more. San Antonio is set for qa playoff run not a regular season run. Portland is young and want it all now regular season means everything to their young core.

SpencerIsHawesomeThere are questions whether or not Peja will even play this year, and if he does it will be limited minutes. His knees are shot and body worn down.

8. Clippers (even against my better judgment)I think Portland is going to be very good this regular season, but I don’t see them getting to the western conference finals:
Lakers vs. Clippers 4-1
Ptlnd vs Jazz 4-3 (I think DWill is a lot for Andre Miller to handle)
Spurs vs NO 4-1
Denver vs. Dallas 3-4 (WHEW, what a series… I can’t see KMart and Nene making it all the way to the playoffs again)Lakers vs. Dallas 4-2
Portland vs. SA 2-4 (I think Parker is too much for Miller again, and Duncan will have GO in foul trouble from the first two times down the court)Lakers vs. SA 4-3 If RJ can shut down Kobe, which I doubt, they have a decent chance… Could they resign Bowen?
