The Boston Celtics, both want Marquis Daniels and Bruce Bowen on their roster, and possibly find a way to resign Stephon Marbury, or sign another back up point guard…I think they should do these moves to accomplish their goals…The Celtics should trade Oklahoma City native, Jr Giddens, Oklahoma State alumni, Tony Allen, and their 2010 first round pick, to the Oklahoma City Thunder, in return for cash considerations and a future second round pick…Sam Presti is always willing to stockpile first round picks, so gaining the Celtics first round pick, would give him a # of 3 first round draft picks, in the 2010 NBA Draft..In another move, the Celtics should trade, OJ Mayo’s childhood friend and high school teammate, Bill Walker, to the Memphis Grizzles, for cash considerations..This is both a basketball move and business move on the Grizzles part…They wanted to add toughness to the team this off season, and Bill Walker sure does provides that, and his arrival in Memphis will sure make OJ Mayo happy, which they always want…With those 3 players gone, the Celtics would save up about 5 to 6 million in salary, and will have extra money, from the cash considerations, from both teams, to sign Marquis Daniels, straight up, instead of fiquring out a sign & trade deal with the Pacers, sign Bruce Bowen, and resign Marbury for more money, to keep him happy and in a Celtics jersey.

100% agree…except I don’t know about Marbury haha. Bowen & Daniels would certainly boost that bench. Celtics do need to find a backup PG…that is pretty important, I just don’t think Marubry is the best option. I kind of scratched my head when they waived Pruitt.

Why do any of that? You can sign Bowen for Vet’s minimum and then maybe give up a Tony Allen to get Daniels. Why give up on Walker?

Even if the Celtics get niether, there still the best team in the East and will be a team who I think can beat the Lakers in the Finals.

The Thunder doing the trade would be mainly for the pick, this deal would give them a 3rd first round pick in the 2010 NBA Draft…If they didn’t land in the top 3, they could use few or all of the picks to try trade up, so that’s why multiple picks are valuable, especially for a team that already knows their destined for the lottery

that as the spurs want to get younger, the celtics want to get older. i think the c’s should try to acruire daniels and leave bowen and marbury alone.

I feel like Hudson could actually be a pretty good back up to Rondo this year, so i dunno about them getting a backup pg. But i completely agree with everythng else.

A celtics fan I can agree wif all of those moves, but I wuldnt mind acquiring all of these veterans, if u think about it this off season has been mainly dedicated to signing, hard nosed tuff defensive veterans. There’s nuffin wrong wif adding more experience to this roster, especially if your getting them for cheap.

Not sure what adding Marbury will do though he probly would be better if he had a full training camp to get in the flow. If they sign Daniels no need for Bowen who is aging. They have Sheed, House off the bench to shoot 3’s and Bowen defensively isn’t what he used to be.
