So now that we are underway, what do you notice a few games in?

I notice Kawhi looks like an absolute beast for someone that’s had a solid 9 months off (and a lot longer since he’s had any kind of decent stretch of game time when healthy). I also notice Redick is very important to Philly and is going to be hard to beat for 6th man if he stays coming off the bench.

    Some early predictions –

    Warriors vs Raptors finals

Top 5 MVP vote getters – Davis, KD, Kawhi, Giannis and LeBron in no particular order

Doncic, Ayton – two man race for ROTY but a good class nonetheless

5 possible All Star Game bolters –

Joe Ingles, Nik Vucevic, Nikola Mirotic, Khris Middleton, Caris Levert

    What have you noticed early?

    Who do you predict for:

    Finals?

    Top MVP chances?

    Top rookie chances?

    Surprise ASG candidates?

A Little 2 Early for Evaluations. Becuz a lot of Teams haven’t had their Home Opener. But the Pelicans r the most surprising team. They seem to continue that Hot Streak they ended the season on. Randle will help them a lot. JJJ has been the most surprising rookie. I have to admit being a Grizzlies fan I wasn’t happy they picked him. He’s averaging 17 pts/6rbs. He’s like a taller Kawhi. And with starting PF JaMycheal Green out for a month with a broken jaw, it’s his time to shine.Lavine looks like a Candidate for the East All Star team. Tatum has been Boston’s best player. Amongst the MIP candidates Bobby Portis is off to a great start. Caris Lavert is finally injury free. Nic Staukas seems to be playing with more confidence. Ayton has been the best rookie so far. Doncic 2nd, JJJ 3rd & Young 4th. Right Now I have Warriors & Celtics in Finals. That could change for me around the All Star break.

AD is gunning for that MVP award.

Kyrie has been on a slump though. Really rusty the first few games.

David Fizdale is proving how good of a coach he is this year. Almost beat the Celtics last night playing guys like Allonzo Trier and Noah Vonleh, and they’re actually fun to watch. They’re kind of like the Nets last year in that they don’t have anyone great currently but they’re playing so hard and smart

Pels are pushing for home court advantage and AD’s getting his MVP

Raptors should be the favorites to go to the Finals

If Brooklyn had an All Star I thought it would be DRuss, but Caris Levert is making a strong case

First of all its way to early to make assumptions but whatever the seasons finally begun.

I think Toronto could win alot of games and push for 70 if healthy and motivated. This team is ridiculously good and Leonard and Green are still noticeably rusty and out of sync with the rest of the team. They will probably split the season series and Toronto got the 1st game at home which is fine but I dont see Boston beating Toronto in the playoffs.

The biggest problem this team had in the playoffs since losing Biyambo was closing defensive possessions. They had nobody that was a capable rebounder aside from Valanciunas and Jonas was not a guy to gather loose balls he is a positional rebounder. Now they have Leonard who is a monster rebounder, Ibaka playing Center replacing Poeltl who was a terrible defensive rebounder last year and Green who is fundimentally sound.

Warriors have 3 very talented and young Centers that they dont even have to play to win games and Cousins returning from injury. This team is so deep its ridiculous. Clear cut favourites.

Houston seems to have lost its defensive identity. I dont think they are the team to beat out West this year.

The Pelicans look like a new basketball juggernaut early on. It will be interesting to see how long this lasts but Mirotic is scoring 30+ a night and their offense is extremely uptempo thanks to Davis improving his playmaking skills. After the 1st week Anthony Davis is looking like an early MVP finalist.

I’m surprisedby Levert’s play, he’s he Nets leading scorer I think with his craftiness and skill off the dribble, with floaters and other shots he makes. I want to see if he can sustain this
