Celtics3178ParticipantLooking at the western conference the blazers really need to blow this team up. They have some stud players that can get good returns.
Damian Lillard is a beast. Teams will be drooling if he’s available. With golden states window looking like another 4 years the best thing to do is get young talent and picks. With butler not happy with KAT. trading lillard for Kat makes sense. Throw in what ever salaries need to be tossed in to make it work.
Send Wiggins to the raptors for DD. Wiggins goes back to Canada and the raptors get there young prince of Canada. The raptors get younger and a talented scorer. The Twolves get their super team. lillard DD and Butler. That would be a tough team of talented hard workers.
The blazer finish off their rebuild by trading CJ to the lakers for Ingram. CJ is the perfect running mate for Lebron. He’s a hard worker he’s ok with being a second option and he can explode on any night. The Blazers get Ingram to team up with KAT. They are both young talented and athletic.

BallerScriptParticipantFeels a bit to unrealistic to make all of these deals
The only one I can envision happening is the DeMar/Wiggins deal0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/05/2018 - 6:16pm #1121661
cohenbc1ParticipantIt never fails to amaze me, the number of people who insist that 50-win teams need to "rebuild."
Don’t you understand how hard it is to go from a bad team to a good team, especially if you’re not a glamour franchise? Look how long Sacramento, Phoenix, Dallas, Detroit, Orlando and New York have been trying!
It just makes so much more sense to try and maintain a team at that 50-win level, and go for the one or two big moves (draft picks, trades, free-agent signings) that vault you into 60-win territory and championship contention. Even if you fail to make that jump, in the meantime you put a good product on the floor, built a fanbase and made some great memories for them, and created a winning reputation which helps lure stars.
Eventually every team will become bad, and have to try and rebuild. Some may not succeed for a couple of decades. Why bring that on yourself sooner rather than later? It doesn’t make sense.
I know some people will probably point to Philly and "the process," but there was a lot of luck involved there.

SportsNinjaParticipantAs a Kings fan I can say I’m actually not so pissed we’re in rebuilding mode. I wouldn’t want to be a playoff contender right now. The league is a joke and I can only hope they get it figured out about the time the Kings get better.
I’m not watching a single second if anything other than Kings ball. I will not go to NBA.com either. It will be hard because I’ve been boycotting ESPN too… I need to stop boycotting things.

mowestenParticipantMaybe I’m missing something, but it seems like the Wolves would be left with Lillsrd, Bulter and DeRozan.
I’m not sure that works.

timinator1ParticipantThey’d get creamed on the boards and in switches.

Andv1 WaitingParticipantI will break down both teams possible options:
Minny- I first establish who I am keeping If Butler isn’t locked up longterm I have to make sure that is done first before I proceed with trading either Wiggins or Towns…
For Arguments sake we will say that Butler is. I would then contact these 3 teams I would also only trade one of the either Wiggins or Towns…
KAT trades (bare in mind I don’t know if $ would work)
:Lakers Ingram,Ball(assuming his Knees is fine/no issues) and a Pick or 2 for Kat and average deal like Dieng. This may be a little bit of low end deal but this will set the table for the next move. It also gives you two things A Pg that can play defense run your offense to a T and A sf who has all the Thibs tools you could want. This may seem low but you fill mulitple needs and gain youth/assets back and sets up for another move if you want to take it…
Pelicans: Lets say A.D is like get me out of here and Butler recruits him… KAT,Dieng(to make money work),Tyus,Teague for A.D…
Orlando: Bamba,Gordon and maybe a pick for Towns and Dieng…This gives you a young cheap prospect in Bamba and a vet who is locked up and may thrive under Thibs…
Wiggins deal..
I would contact the Wizards and see if they would be open to this move Wiggins and Dieng for Beal and Porter straight swap..Hear me out…This may put you in Cap hell for T-wolves but if you Kept Kat you turn Wiggins into a SG moving Butler to the SF spot and Porter the PF spot your starting lineup is now KAT,Porter,Butler,Beal and Teague…Wizards do this move to remove the Porter deal from the Books and give John wall a new running mate…

Andv1 WaitingParticipantPortland I would hit full reset as this team has probably hit it’s celing 1st or 2nd round and out…They had no excuses as their team was healthy/no major injuries….
I would Talk to teams with multiple young players and reasonable deals on the books…
So first team I would call is Philly… I would offer one of Lillard or C.J(let them choose) and ask for the following back: Futlz(Key piece),Dario S,A pick preferably next draft(only top 3 protected), and Covington for the Player wanted out of Dame and C.J,Aminu and 2x 2nd rounders.
T-wolves Dame and one other player out either Aminu or Harkless for Teague andWiggins…Upgrade at P.G and you Slide wiggins to either SG or SF.
Lets say they do C.J for 76ers package and Dame for T-wolves package: The Blazers end up with
PF:Saric,SF: Wiggins,Sg Futlz and Pg teague and Maybe Nurkic at C…
T-Wolves end up with Kat,Taj,Butler,(insert F.A funny if it was Lavine) and Dame..
76ers get Joel,C.J and Simmons as Core big 3
However my guess is all teams just stay the same lol..

nath09ParticipantI think if I want to put together a big 3 I want to make sure they play three different positions. I mean GSW have 5 All Stars that play 5 different positions and are clearly 5 different players. You can put Butler at 3 but they really are three guards who might just get in each others way/
