HitsterParticipantLast year probably apart from Ben Simmons we would not likely have guessed the other members of the NBA All Rookie First Team.
A lot will depend on who gets good playing time across the season and until the FA market moves have happened it will be even harder to predict. Last year De’Aaron Fox looked as if he had got the keys to the Kings but they then signed George Hill who took minutes away from him whilst he was there.
Trae Young may look a logical guy to get a lot of the ball but until Schroeder situation is resolved we won’t fully know.
Ayton will likely be a starter right off and could put up good numbers. Bagley will need to force his way through a frontcourt logjam but should get good minutes. Doncic will likely start but will his overall stats be that striking despite his ability.
Jaren Jackson could be an interesting option for ROY, he may well get the starting birth and could showcase himself.
Kevin Knox will be long term but with Porz out and the Knicks having guys out of contract, he could see unexpected big minutes.
With the talk that the Lakers were always going to take a big then Mortiz Wagner could be the guy to see lots of playing time from further down the draft.
Whether there will be a Donovan Mitchell type breakout from the middle of the draft will be intersting too?

ZouldiersParticipantLonnie Walker IV could be this year’s Donovan Mitchell. Great situation in San Antonio and could be in line for huge minutes. I won’t be surprised if Chandler Hutchinson cracks at least All NBA 2nd team.

jonus grumbyParticipantagree with Hutchinson. He was a senior so should be more prepared than most rookies and not a lot in front of him. Plus Bulls hearing that he was not a popular pick with the fans so they may be inclined to force feed him to justify the pick.

SpacegrassParticipantJosh Okogie imo is gonna be the dude that surprises people. He has the build , athleticism , and freakish length like Mitchell had. Except he is a very good 3 point shooter. Him as a 6th man of the year candidate , scoring threat off the bench is very real.

Celtics3178ParticipantMarvin Bagley imo will win rookie of the year. I am really high on Bagley game. he had teams game planning to stop him and carter next to him and he still dropped 20 and 10. The guy is an absolute beast and I really like WCS next to him. Fox I think has a Chance to be a Michael Conley type player. the rest of their team is pretty awful tho and no picks next year kills them.
I have been Vlads most vocal heckler. I’ll stand by the fact that he sucks as a GM. That being said I can admit when I’m wrong and even tho a broken clock is right twice a day I think Vlad really hit his last two first round picks.
With all that said The rest of that team sucks and I still hate Vlad great player awful front office guy.

Memphis MadnessParticipantROY: Collin Sexton
1st Team All Rookie
Sexton
Ayton
Luka
Bamba
Miles Bridges
2nd team
Jaren Jackson
Mitchell Robinson
Donte Inferno
Kostas Freak
Kevin Huerter
… the 1st team guys put up better "fantasy stats" but the 2nd team guys give you more quality production and higher long-term value.
Mikal Bridges, Moritz Wagner, and Kevin Knox all have solid/promising rookie seasons.
Not sold on Bagley, Trae, and Porter.
The two Carters should be pretty good, too: Wendell (Bulls) and Jevon (Grizzlies).
I think Trae Jimmer Barros will disappoint. Although he will have the green light and hit at least SOME of his Pistol Pete Weapons Grade Shot Selection heaves. Ditto for Michael Porter, Jr. aka the 2021 Co-ROY with James Wiseman.
Ray Spalding is another "sleeper pick" (although I had him 11th on my last Big Board) to put up solid numbers along with some flashy highlights. Gonna be a GREAT fit on the new Cowboy Showtime team in Dallas along with fellow rooks Luka Doncic and Kostsas Freaktempo. Who knows… Dirk might play ’til he’s 50.
Zhaire Smith and Hamidou Diallo compete for the dunk contest. That’s about it.
I think that in five years those 2nd team guys (JJJ, Crazy Mitch "Freak Knick" Robinson, Kevin "The Legend" Heurter, Donte "The Air Show" Inferno, and Kostas Freaktempo) will be running the league.
Jevon Carter is my Moneyball value pick for point guard. Looks like a cross between Alvin Robertson and Chauncey Billups.
One of those 2nd round wings will do pretty well (10 and 4?), but most of those generic 2nd rounders look too much like Devean George or Tony Wroten and not in a good way. I think this draft is less mega-deep than I thought.

ChoppyParticipantI think Doncic’s all-round game will translate to the NBA and the experience of playing against grown men in Europe will speed up the adjustment period. At this point, he’s my favourite for ROY.
