so Ive been doing bunch of research this past week on the draft, and its clear there is lots of depth at the wing positions (sg/sf) with very little separation among these guys. Im very interested to see how things shake out come draft night. Here are my current rankings with a few comments although what im really hoping for is some more insight from you guys on who you like/dont like and why. Right now my order is very fluid and changes almost daily but I do have all these going from #16 through #38 in this order order currently:

donte divicenzio—just loved what he showed at the combine really standing out in drills and then in the scrimmages making plays all over the place showing that he can do lots of things to help a team from rebounding to shooting to pushing in transition.

zhaire smith—best athlete in this draft. Odd prospect in that he played mostly in paint as a big man of sorts despite being 6-4. But his shooting form is decent and if put him on the floor he will make plays happen and if the skill level comes around he could be a steal.

kevin huerter—has an undeniable nba level skill as arguably the best shooter of this group. He is also taller then most at 6-7 and that will help getting his shot off. And he well he wont be breaking ankles, he does enough off the dribble and finishing at the rim that he wont strictly be floating around perimeter.

lonnie walker—to be honest, i only have him this high because just about every site says heel be taken high. Personally i dont see what all the hype is about. Good body/athlete and as a true freshman, he is young and has lots of room to grow. But i dont see anything that really jumps out to me.

keita bates diop—originally after just reading about him and knowing he is an upper classman that picked it up this past year, I thought maybe round 2 based on potential. But then i watched his tape and I have to say he seems like a first round lock to me. Very safe pick and his jumper is good enough to combine with having the length to play both forward spots potentially.

chandler hutchison—one of the few seniors on this list meaning he will drop due to potential, but he really has an nba style game with the ability to play in transition, shoot from out side and attack the paint. This site compares him to landry fields who i think could have had a long career due to just being a well rouded player if not for injuries and i think hutchison will help a team.

jerome robinson—another guy I was hesitant on after reading about him but after watching tape, this guy is a scorer that can create his shot and shoot lights out. He should be able to translate his skills to the nba.

khyri thomas—elite defender who just plays a very mature style game. Can make shots and finish strong. At 6-4, could guard either guard spot. He might not be sexy or flashy, but he does exactly what you need and if he gets opportunity for minutes could be a steal

troy brown—another guy im kinda skeptical about but sites all seems to like him. I went to an oregon game this year and didnt remember anyone on the ducks squad jumping out to me as a pro, but again watching video, he has a well rounded game and just seems like a smoth nba player. Does things on defense and is a swiff army knife on the court who just needs to become better shooter.

josh okogie—he killed the combine measurements and he has good size for a wing with ability to guard the sf’s. He doesnt jump out at you on offense, but he plays well in the open court and attacks the rim hard and has above average strength and athleticism and put up good scoring numbers in college. This guy seems like safe cnadidate to plug into an nba rotation who will bring the little things.

deanthony melton—good rebounder for a gaurd and plays solid defense. It was very promising to see him take guys off the dribble one on one at the combine and his jumper looks very solid for a guy who didnt score much in one year of college.

jacob evans—very similar to josh okogie above, just brings it on defense and does enough on offense to keep himself on the court. I give okogie slight edge due to physically being a little stronger. Also watching evans doing shooting drills had me scared as his jump shot form was kinda ugly.

dzanan musa—reminds me of rex chapman with his ability to just pull off the dribble from anywhere and shoot contested threes in the blink of an eye. Has good length and can attack poor close outs although probably wont beat too many guys off the dribble one on one.

grayson allen—solid shooter who does good job of squaring his shoulder and getting release off quickly which is a big time skill in nba. He also developed a lot over 4 years as a ball handler. Probably wont break guys down in half court sets much but in the open court with head of steam is a very good ball handler who can push it and make the right play.

gary trent jr—i would have ranked as my #2 pure shooter after huerter. Reminds me of another former dukie in trajan langdon. Isnt the most explosive guy but hes young and has a nice jumper and could help a team looking for a floor spacer.

melvin frazier—solid athlete with good length who attacks the rim and plays good defense and will be active off the ball. A little lackadaisical with the ball in his hands which could lead to some turnovers but lots of raw skills that could could be a difference maker if harnessed

anfernee simmons—hard to judge this guy based on highschool tape. I also watched him in workouts and shooting drills and he has the ability to explode to basket and is well rounded offensively but im afraid his shake n bake skills might not quite translate vs higher level comp and nothing about his defense or shooting makes you think he will stand out. This guy needs to be pushed vs harder comp to see what hes capable of.

landry shamet—terrific court vision and above average shooter and ball handler. Just worried about his physicalness and ability to create one on one at the nba level. At worst though hell be a good spot shooter with a high basketball iq who reads the court well even if he cant play pg due to creating off the driblle.

KT is a slightly shorter, more athletic Luch Richard Mbah a Moute, and that is worth a late 1st to me.  Josh Okogie, again, is seriously being undervalued in this draft. This kid (yes, KID), is a young, bouncy athlete with a great shot and developing perimeter skill set. I think in 3 years people will regret not taking him. He is my sleeper in this one. Ride or die with JO.

I don’t think Josh is being undervalued, he’s a jack of all trades but raw and undersize, is like DeAndre Kane or a smaller less athletic iman shumpert…

Really that’s how I feel about a bunch of these guys. Flip a coin. So many guys that all seem to be in the same tier. Really about what type of player you want as a team.

I also agree that Josh Okogie seems like maybe the most underrated guy. He’s pound for pound the best athlete in the draft, has a 7ft wingspan, and was productive in College. I don’t get why Zhaire Smith is mid first and Okogie is late first yearly second. They seem very similar, yet Okogie seems more advanced.

Two wings that really have grown on me are Zhaire Smith & Chandler Hutchison. Smith is what you would get mixing Tony Allen + Gerald Green, plus combined with his age he is a really tempting guy to take in the lotto. And Hutchison has such a smooth game, reminds me a lot of Khris Middleton

Smith is a type of player you need to dig into and look at the numbers. I certainly see a Tony Allen, but I don’t see any Gerald Green outside of Smith being a great athlete like Green. Yes Smith shot 45% from 3, but on only 40 attempts. A bunch of reports question his shot and say he’s reluctant to shot 3s. Thats not Green, thats Tony Allen. Thats just over one attempt a game and him making one like every two games. Gerald Green has attempted three 3s in a single minute, he’s a gunner. Instant offense type of player.

Thomas looks like a perfect fit next to Oladipo in Indiana. Can shoot, is athletic and awesome athlete.

If Lonnie Walker isn’t your first pick of this litter you are fired.

care to elaborate as to why?

He has typical size (6-4, 190lbs). He averaged 11 pts on 41% fg shooting with under 2 assists per game. Is an average three point shooter. All reports are that he looses focus on defense and and is not a standout on that end of the court. But with all that said, i cold overlook it if he had something about his game that stood out. Like he had this great shot making ability or could break ankles with ease. But he doesnt. In fact videos i saw of draft workoputs where he was going one on one he was struggling big time to beat his man and was forcing bad shots.

So what makes lonnie walker so special?

His numbers increased when Brown went down with an injury. Scouts basically think he’s like Jaylen Brown, were the fit, talent and system didn’t match the guys skill set. Which makes some sense as Walker caused Browns numbers to tank also. I was way down on Brown, so I now listen when scouts say things like he’ll be a better pro than College player. He’s got upside in creating for himself and other, while being good defensively. Really he has about everything you want but production. There’s a reason he’s higher than the other players.

ive seen numerous players over the years get the "hell be better in the nba then in college" tag, sometimes it works and someotimes it doesnt. But with brown, you had a guy who put up more points, assists, rebounds and had 3 inches and 30 lbs on lonnie walker. At least with brown you had the body to say "man if he puts it  together" You dont have that with walker. He measured at 6-3.5" without shoes. Hes a smaller gaurd. If im wrong, so be it, but i just dont see it with him.

If you dig into his team, the reports make sense, they asked him to do things that aren’t his strength. He’s a SG, not SF and he was coming back from an MCL sprain. He’s 6’4.5” with a 6’10.25” wingspan, so he has plenty of size for a SG. He’s also a way better shooter than Brown was coming out. Brown went third overall, Walker is late lottery to mid first round. So yea he’s risky, but he has good upside as a two way player.

He has elite athleticism and a picture perfect jumpshot. He underperformed last season due to coming of an injury and playing on one of the worst passing teams in the NCAA. He has unique finishing ability and loads of defensive potential. He does lack awareness but that can be learned. He played full a chaotic style of defense on his high school team so he is adjusting to playing solid team defense. He has a great work ethic and loads of raw ability so I see his upside being as high as any guard in this class.

Divencinzo is going to be a stud in the NBA. I like him the most out of these wings.

I am a bit of a fan of Jacob Evans and could see him being a Trevor Ariza type of wing  in the NBA with his size and 3 and D skills, but he isn’t as athletic as Ariza was coming out of college and he was a bit more inconsistent this past season than I expected on offense. He has good all around skills, but his shot creating skills are mediocre at best right now. I’m willing to believe in him because he’s a cerebral player

Lonnie Walker is raw but he does have potential, the Knicks think he might be the next Donovan Mitchell supposedly but I don’t know if he can improve as rapidly as Mitchell has. To pick Walker at 9 just seems like a reach to me but I will admit he wasn’t a perfect fit for the style of Miami tried to establish last season. He’s the type of player that would be best served to have a defined role and Miami kind of plays positionless ball
