Lotto StudParticipantWhat more could they possibly do to try and get it right?

Celtics3178ParticipantI was talking about this with my buddy last night after seeing they want to trade the pick. The celtics are there best trade partner. The celtics own a Grizzlies first round pick that’s unprotected on the last year. The celtics can give them back their pick, toss the celtics pick this year it’s a late first rounder. Then the kings pick so they get a lottery pick and 2 other chances at a prospect. It makes sense for both teams. The celtics get a talented big man this year and the grizz work on their future.

Lotto StudParticipantCould or should they command Terry Rozier in return?
0- Posted on: Fri, 05/18/2018 - 4:55pm #1117244
publius2481ParticipantWith Conley there, I do not think that makes much sense. He does not fit what Memphis needs to get back to immediate contention. Rozier is also a year away from restricted free agency, so he is about to get expensive. Even though I am a big fan of his (I am a Celtics fan, so of course I like him), I would not package the 4th pick in this draft (you can a really good player at 4) for a package where Rozier is a major piece.

markfitz14ParticipantHe prbly has a certain guy he likes and would want to get at 4. Might be a draft night trade if it did happen. Bamba to me would be a good fit. He could slowly develop behind Horford next year. Be there to take over when Horford gets to the end of his current contract. Ainge might want a differnet big though who is better at stretching the floor.
I think Rozier could definetley help the Griz right away. Yeah he will need to get paid, but he could be a 6th man 30 min a game guy or play alongside Conely too.

Robb_CParticipantBulls trade up for Porter?
7th pick and Portis for the 4th..

ChewyParticipantPorter is young enough to make it an enticing offer…

Arc12345ParticipantHawks need to give whatever is necessary except for Collins to get their hands on this pick.
I’d love to move Schroder but Memphis already has Conley. I could see them biting on Prince plus the 19th pick (maybe even include the 30th pick). I’d love to ship out Bazemore but that’d be too good to be true.

r377ParticipantWith conley and gasol they want to make another run and grab a veteran scorer – makes sense
With their salary they would prob need to package it with chandler parsons so its not quite as valuable.
Maybe Dallas with parsons for Barnes
Minnesota for wiggins (would need another team to swallow parson contract)
maybe miami if they are rebuilding – james johnson, waiters, winslow. some sort of vets

negguaryParticipantsixers offer 10,26,33 Covington and tlc or Holmes. They get multiple picks and probably the guy they desire in either bridges. They also get an established young player that fits their scheme in Covington who also spaces the floor. Holmes or tlc gives them rotational players necessary to make the playoffs. Best offer! Lol

EndlessknightParticipantIf they gave up that much I would personally drive back home to Philly and kick Mr. Butterfly Collar’s ass.

negguaryParticipantthat you can unload cov’s contract to create more cap space for a max player and player specialist I would say you actually gained a lot especially considering we don’t need three rookies that I’m proposing including in this trade, three rookies that having a lower percentage of contributing as well as compared to the fourth pick that could potentially garnish you a player like mpj that would fit amazingly with this team now and for the future. Plus the addition of more cap space. Not to mention of your able to unload Bayless’s Contract which would save you an additional 5 mil if you released him or 9 if you traded him which would then put you in position to potentially sign to max level players with one or both taking a kd level paycut lol

EndlessknightParticipantWhy would they want to get rid of Covington? The guy is a defensive player of the year candidate in the prime of his career. He had a bad playoffs but he was playing hurt. It does nit make sense to give him up for an unproven player.
I would give up 10, 26, TLC and Bayless. That’s about it.
0- Posted on: Sat, 05/19/2018 - 8:08am #1117273

negguaryParticipantif this is the prime of his career then we are already twO weeks late on this deal. Did you watch his performance in he playoffs? He failed to contain anyone anD I mean anyone. Yeah point to the deflections, cool stat bro. We can not use a streaky shooter who can’t put the ball on The floor at all for 15 mil per. I dump him just to get him off the books at this point. He’s also not a DPOY candidate that list has already come out. Trust me this is coming from a day one fan. Don’t become emotionally attached to the point that you hurt your team. I think you missed all my point regarding the fact that you can clear a significant amount of cap space where you can get an MPJ and possibly still sign two max level players. Do you hold on Covington to miss Out on all of that? If so don’t quit your day job kidd.

negguaryParticipantI still plus oned you because getting rid of Bayless’s Money is a plus as well

draftmangtParticipantIf the Cavs really feel Lebron is gone I could see them offering Love and a future pick for 4 and Parsons contract.

The GoatParticipanthttp://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y7nnycv2
Andrew Wiggins, #20, Chandler Parsons, Dillon Brooks to Toronto
Derozan, Tyus Jones and Aaron Brooks to Memphis
#4 and Valanciunis to Minny
0- Posted on: Fri, 05/18/2018 - 4:32pm #1117240

OhCanada-ParticipantDerozan and Valanciunas for Wiggins and a 1st round pick? Nah. Raps maybe in play for pick #4 if they wanna blow it up though.
0- Posted on: Fri, 05/18/2018 - 7:10pm #1117251
The GoatParticipantJust an idea. If you got a future draft pick or picks as well, it may be good enough, no? Perhaps yeah, just leave Minny out of it and go to the Griz direct. Anyway i think the Raps have to blow it up with something like this. You cant repeatedly get swept then blame it on a Coach of the Year candidate.
0- Posted on: Sat, 05/19/2018 - 7:17am #1117271

OhCanada-ParticipantI agree they really should blow it up. The goal should be a championship and this team isnt winning one. Trade them while they still have some value.

kobyzParticipantThey were really high on Bagley and wanted him so much, falling to number 4 and losing a chance for him is davestating for them
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/20/2018 - 8:08am #1117378

Demarcus OnealParticipantMemphis needs to pick Marvin Bagley and let it rest
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/20/2018 - 10:05am #1117385

HitsterParticipantGasol can opt out next summer and will likely be off to a contender unless he wants to ensure his 2019-20 pay day. So the one reamaining time to get trade value for him could be this year. Logically Memphis should be looking for more picks not shopping this one.
Gasol is still a fine player but is 33 now, Conley whilst a very good player has never been an All Star so it isn’t as if he is a top star wanting to win now.
A lot of teams would be interested in that pick as regardless of who goes in top 3, some very good players will be in play at 4. Could Memphis be trying to see what offers teams below them in the draft offer for 4th.
Chicago with 7th and 22nd would seem to have the assets. I don’t see Dallas giving up much to move up a spot. John Hammond at Orlando is canny to. Knicks may be tempted but apart from Frank N do they have other assets they could move?
Philly have picks as said above to make a good offer.
Might Boston get involved, they are owed a first rounder from Memphis and have Sacramento pick next year except top 1 protection via Philly. Ainge made radical changes last summer and if Memphis did want an established player has Gordon Hayward and a few other good pieces. If he could pull a deal to get his hands on this pick and keep the Sac-Town pick it would prove his genius ability.
