The Scare Crow RisesParticipantAfter running several simulations on a lottery generator I’ve noticed a few interesting patterns…
The 76ers worst possible draft position seems to bottom out 5th or 6th respectively, they’ll definitely have a solid chance at drafting a Guard in that range to fill out their starting lineup, that means Smith Jr/Fox/Monk could all be in play, they could also target Jayson Tatum to start at SF if they plan on using Simmons as PG or even better PF…
The best case scenario for the 76ers is them winning the #1 overall pick and receiving the 4th pick from The Lakers, essentially turning MCW into whoever they want to pair up with Simmons/Embiid/Fultz?
Let’s say they select Fultz with the Top Pick, Jackson goes to Boston and Ball goes the Suns, who’s become the BPA? Who’s the best fit with this roster long-term?
G Fultz/TLC/Korkmaz/McConnell
F Simmons/Saric/Covington
C Embiid/Okafor
After looking at the roster a little deeper, we have to think we’re good at F, Robert Covington’s defense and ability to hit a open 3 gives him an important role in the starting lineup, Simmons can’t realistically defend the elite PG’s on a nightly basis, his best asset will be breaking down PF’s and creating plays for his teammates, he’ll need a supporting cast of defenders and 3 point shooters, Markelle has to be able to play OFF ball and defend the PG position, if we’re only drafting Fultz to score in isolation sets, then we’ll have to draft a G that can defend and possibly hit an open 3
De’Aaron Fox seems to fit the mold of an elite defender BUT can he improve his outside shooting? He’s definitely a gamer and he’s shown that winning the game matters to him, we’d love more intangibles guys out there…
Here’s the rub, Fox can’t play OFF ball, he can’t be relied on to stretch the floor for Simmons/Fultz and Embiid and that’s what brings me to Malik Monk, he’s got great athleticism, he can run guys around screens, and he can definitely stretch the floor for his play making F’s and Scoring G, he’s also going to make life easier for his back to basket Centers, Monk feels like the perfect fit in any scenario IMO, he’s got the potential to be the SG here for a decade, lots of open shots and opportunities, plus he seems to have been underrated by a lot of people, I think he’ll have a chip on his shoulder and come in with something to prove…
Another scenario I can see happen is landing a lower combination of picks, say 4th and 5th, in this case I could totally see us draft FOX and MONK to pair up in the backcourt, hopefully Fox and Simmons can coexist and develop consistent jump shots, having Monk, Covington and Embiid in the lineup helps space the floor…Fox’s defense and intangibles is worth a Top 5 pick IF you’re adding Monk with another top 5 pick…Only the 76ers could pull this off realistically…
So worst case, we land the 4th-6th pick and hope to select Malik Monk if he’s still available
Best case is we win the Top Pick and add Fultz and Monk with the Lakers pick at 4
Middle Ground, we get the 4th and 5th picks and go after a Fox and Monk backcourt

EndlessknightParticipantI hope the Sixers get a top three pick but miss out on the Lakers pick. The best the Lakes pick can be is 4th, next year it’s unprotected. Rather have a shot at Porter or Doncic next year that a chance to get an extra Monk level player is year.
If they do get a top 3 pick I hope they come away with either Fultz or Jackson, no interest in Ball.

llperezsixers best case scenario is 1st and 4th pick and worst case scenario is the 7th pick. Lakers could have a top 3 pick or no pick at all. The announcement of the nba draft lottery is a huge day for both organizations and could ahve drastic impact on the future of both teams.

BleedGreen808ParticipantIf the Sixers get 1 and 4 why not just go Fultz and Taytum? Assuming everybody is healthy a core of Fultz, Taytum, Simmons, Embiid, and Saric would be ridiculous. Covington, TLC, and Holmes are also really nice young players.

Ahkasi ClayParticipantPhilly can not get the 7th pick without the Lakers falling out, giving g them a top 3 pick also. So the worst the 76ers can do is #6. Or is my math wrong? (It has been before)

vulture711ParticipantJonathan Isaac here. Jerami Grant with a jumper he provides depth at 3 and stretch 4. They would take him higher than people think

Memphis MadnessParticipant^^^
i like that Isaac pick. That’s a big team there but he gives Sixers shooting and scoring. You can roll Simmons, Embiid, Isaac, Saric, and either McConnell, Covington, or Okafor out there and you let the OTHER team worry about it.
if they end up at 4 but WITHOUT the Lakers pick I wonder if they try to trade down with Sacto at 8 and 10. Then they can target Malik Monk. Markkanen might be at 10. Or Zach Collins. TJ Leaf might be a good pick too. Okafor might be in play on draft night, too.
