llperezI have family in sac and they are all glad he is gone but surprised they got so little for him. One thing I don’t get is everyone is putting it on the Kings for not getting more but I think there are a good number of teams around the league that need to be questioned and answer as to why they didn’t offer up more. It was known cousins was attainable and yet nobody would offer up more then hield and a pick? It’s like in 2008 when the lakers got pau gasol for kwame brown, Javaris crittenton and Marc gasl(hindsite shows this deal wasn’t bad due to Marc’s play but at the time he was a second round pick who was still being stashed away in Europe and nobody knew he would be this good). Everyone gave the grizz crap for not getting more for a in his prime skilled center who immediately helped lakers make 3 straight trips to finals but my question was why weren’t more teams blowing the grizz up? Same thing with cousins, is his reputation that bad that nobody was willing to offer substantial assets?

IndianaBasketballParticipantDivac said he had a better offer a couple of days prior to making the trade (why the hell he acknowledged that? I have no idea). Does anybody know what that offer was?

negguaryParticipantwhat’s up? I know you are a real Indiana fan, what do
you think about the pacers heavily pursuing oak?? Do
you think that he helps you guys, or as a real fan k ow
that you should just start over fresh and trade George. Honestly George is one of my favorite players and one of the most underrated and would love to
see him winning. I also think trading him now would get you a lot of value and would put the team in a bette position. What you think?

The GoatParticipantIt’s seems the Pels had offered an additional 1st Rd pick and apparently dragged it citing fear that Boogie would leave. Article on Real GM.. you can only believe a small percentage of what’s on there mind you

ThenilonatorParticipantEveryone is dropping the slipper into the kings for not getting a better deal, while I do think they could have done a little better than what they did, this deal tells me more about the immaturity and type of person cousins is rather than how bad the kings organisation is (although that’s probably pretty tight). No team Was giving up equal talent/picks for a guy who carries on like an attention grabbing teenager, the consensus is the Pelicans won the trade, I wouldn’t be so sure just yet!

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantI heard that Cousins agent said he would NOT sign an extension with the new team if he was traded. That, in itself, was a huge red-flag for teams trying to trade for him. Fortunately for the Pelicans, you also have a young once-in-a-generation player that will be the ONLY reason Cousins signs long-term. I don’t think any other team in the NBA has quite an asset as Davis.
That said, there may only be 2-3 teams that Cousins would sign long-term with, just so happens that the Pelicans MIGHT be one of those.

DolanCareParticipantI’m confused. Where does Cousins actually want to play? Where does he want to sign an extension?
