Rumors out of San Antonio say Aldridge is on the Trade Block

He is 30+ years old, and plays the same position as Simmons and Saric. The last thing that we need is another 4 man.

However, if he is trully available then it is a good thing for the Sixers simply because it opens up 3 team trade possibilities.

BTW, you can’t trade the right to swap picks. You can only trade the pick itself, which comes with the swap rights. You surely wouldn’t trade a top 5 pick, plus Okafor and Noel for Aldridge. 

I can tell your a sixers fan. That would be a horrendous trade for San Antonio. LA is worth much more than that.

Since when in Danny Green a "throw-away" player? 3 and D guys are at a premium in today’s NBA. Also hit like 50 3’s in the finals one year, and you think he’s a throw away?

"Big Ben/LA/Embeast Big 3" does not constitute a Big 3. You can’t just take any 3 players and say they are a Big 3 even if they are the best on their team. I am a Hornets fan, and I would not say "Kemba/Batum/MKG" is a Big 3.

 The Lakers would likely be the first to call as Jim Buss is likely desperate to save his job. I’m not sure if the Spurs would be interested in taking on prospects.

If I am Cleveland, I’d swap him with Love, wanted them to sign LA all along the summer Love was a free agent

 Boston is going with the likes of Amir Johnson at the four. They’re a contender and have some cap room and assets. I could see Ainge and Stevens liking the idea of savvy vets like Aldridge and Horford in the post. 

 If Aldridge isn’t a Spurs kind of guy, there’s no way Okafor is. Okafor had more off court issues in his first month in the NBA than Aldridge ever did.

 It takes a special piece of shit to not fit in with the Spurs and their winning ways.

 Highly doubtful he goes anywhere. In the small chance he does, I think it’d be Boston if anywhere. Toronto doesn’t have the assets to get him. Minnesota possibly. Utah for Favors? Two bigs like Favors and Gobert together is unusual these days, LAs range may be perfect next to the Stifle Tower, but that’s about the only reason why I could see Utah do it. Milwaukee would love to get Aldridge.. for Monroe LOL

He’s strictly a 4 that can’t defend and relies on his mid range game, which is easily the best in the league among bigs. The Aldridge for Favors swap makes a ton of sense. San Antonio would want a high character guy in return. If Houston struggles early, maybe offer a package centered around LMA for Harden? Might be a risk worth taking for San Antonio at this point. Harden is alot like Manu offensively.

 I had a feeling this was going to happen when LA first signed with San Antonio. The problem with LA is that he is so talented at what he does, but he’s also incredibly non-versatile. He needs his touches on the elbows, he needs isolation plays, he needs half-court sets. That’s difficult to constantly accommodate into a Spursian style of play. 

He also is difficult to play without a rim protector next to him, which the Spurs don’t really have at the moment. 

If the Spurs do move him, they should take the opporunity to get a point guard in return. Dejounte Murray is a few years away. 

 Phoenix was very interested in Aldridge last summer. They have a ton of young assets to put together a formidable package if the spurs decide they can’t compete with golden state and want to start to get younger and rebuild. It’s highly unlikely though imo. I doubt Aldridge goes anywhere this season.
