    The San Antonio Spurs are widely regarded as the model NBA organization.

    Players, coaches, and other staff members who have had the privilege of earning their spurs, no pun intended, in San Antonio hold a good batting rate of landing a job elsewhere because of that particular pedigree.

    Recently, the team announced a number of hires within the organization and one of those involved is former Knicks and Raptors forward Landry Fields; the team’s new college scout.

    “Fields joins the Spurs after a five-year NBA playing career. An All-Rookie First Team Selection in 2011, Fields averaged 6.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 23.6 minutes in 255 career games with the New York Knicks and Toronto Raptors.”

    Interestingly, the 28-year-old only played five seasons in the NBA.

    Outside of his on-court work, Fields owns a solid background highlighted by his education at Stanford University. His basketball acumen coupled with a good deal of intelligence should do him well in his new capacity with the Spurs.

    Who knows, this might just be the beginning of bigger things for Landry Fields.

      Tearing the labrum in your hip is never a good thing. Alex Rodriguez and Troy Tulowitzki struggled to get back to their old form in a less physically gruelling sport. The only other basketball player I remember who had this tear was Jonny Flynn, and he was never able to get back to being the guy he was coming out of Syracuse.

     The Spurs always sign solid backroom guys and although Fields is very young to leave the NBA as a play, he’ll be able to work his way up the orginisation and learn from Pops and Burford etc.

    Gregg Poppovich is 67 now and Ric Burford 56 so they cannot go on forever so getting young guys beedded in is a very smart move for the organization,.

     Wonder what happened to Fields he was looking like a draft steal then all of a sudden he hit rock bottom.

     Had nerve damage in his shooting elbow and basically forgot how to shoot uf remember correctly.

       I had a similar problem with my right wrist. It started around when my parents first got the Internet.
