high floorParticipantConcerning Jabari, my main point was that I think he’s going to be very good & that his worst case scenario is still a good player. That’s why I originally put his floor as a Mark Aquire caliber player. But after reading yours and Lalaki’s feedback below.. that was an unintended dis toward Aguire after I researched his stats a little deeper & saw that he was a key contributor to a championship team.
I started following the NBA game in the late 80’s, early 90’s and during that time Aguire was a steady 15-18ppg scorer. But I didn’t realize that was more towards the tail end of his career, compared to when he was putting up 25 a night routinely in his early/prime years. Dude was a stud.
So yea, looking back Aguire was a poor choice as a floor for Jabari. Too late to edit.. so instead I’ll put Jabari’s floor a bit lower, say former Clipper Loy Vaught. Vaught was a 6’9 forward who from 1993-1997 averaged 15.5pts and 8rebs per game, with average defense to his credit.

dcaseParticipantAquire was a really good player but he was not better than Melo. Yes Aquire has two rings but that was only after he was traded midseason to a great Pistons team that lost in the NBA championship the previous year.

cozmojimParticipantSome of those are auftly laufty likely scenarios. Big dog, Camby, and Sheed were damn good players. I’d say those are the best case for the above mentioned. And that not a slight on their talent.

Jr. ROXASParticipantI like the worst case scenario comparisons for Turner and Hezonja. Lafrentz was an ahead of his time stretch big who blocks a ton shots. Injuries killed him though. Webster to Hezonja is pretty spot on but yea I have confidence Mario can surpass him.

high floorParticipantboth in attitude and physicality.. but they are both similar in size (standing 6’11 and around 235lbs) and talent. They can fill a stretch 4/5 role efficiently on offense, and can protect the rim against slashing guards & wings.
I stand by my original comparison as I think their 2-way styles of play are pretty comparable & that Turner will be an integral part of many Pacer playoff runs. Just with less Techs

Robb_CParticipantI can tell you haven’t watched both in person, if you did you would really account for how different they are in transition.. Myles is a bit awkward doesnt run the floor nearly as well as Rasheed did.. He might be able to go inside ans out like rasheed but he wont be like Rasheed.

A few things…
Myles in my opinion can be very special, an all around talent like Rasheed Wallace but with better temperment. The skillset is slowly developing and his great showing for the USA Select Team is Turner showing the league that he is not an afterthought to Porzingis and Anthony-Towns.
It’s time that we stop comparing Jabari to the likes of Melo and Pierce, he just does not have their shooting acumen or offensive creativity and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. I think he can work to be and play like Jamal Mashburn in his hayday if he improves his outside shot and playmaking ability.
If Mario puts it all together, he can be like Michael Finley in his Dallas Maverick days. I can easily see him being the next Gerald Green and be all feast or famine with his shooting and athletic ability.
For Jokic, its plausible that he turns out to be a European version of Christian Laettner. In Laettner’s first four years in Minnesota (age 23-26), he averaged 17.2 PPG 8.1 RPG 3.2 APG 1.2 SPG & 1.1 BPG and was an All Star in his first full year for the Hawks at age 27. These are numbers Jokic can achieve as he becomes more comfortable in this league.
I see Nerlens being a complementary piece moving forward, but if he improve his finishing ability at the hoop and a consistant 15ft and in jumper, he can be much like the 3x All Star that the skinny Nance was for both Phoenix and Cleveland.

DanielcmccartyParticipantNerlens Noel is the second coming of birdman on the court. Jabari Parker really started to come on strong at the end of the season. I think he’s poised for 18ppg+ this season. The USA select experience this summer will be good for him. They say he’s slimmed up a lot. That will bode well for him. I think he takes a big leap in his third year.

I remember watching Parker in a Chicago Summer League Tournament and just kept saying to myself this kid is smooth like Pierce..
What is great about Jabari’s game is he’s extremely smooth, almost has an effortless approach to the game.. just like Paul did..

DolanCareParticipantThere’s really no comparison for Turner. The closest comp I can think of is Kurt Thomas. Good defensively and can knock down shots. Difference is, Turner is on his way to being a reliable 3 point shooter.
