KingPapasParticipantI cant help but look ahead. Since Kobe and Tim Duncan both retired the same year they will both be eligible for Hall of Fame same year. Who will headline the class? I will have to go with Kobe. I understand it is up for debate on who was better player but Kobe was more of a Global icon then Duncan.

HitsterParticipantMailman Malone and Pippen went in the same year, Pat Riley,Ewing and Hakeem also and MJ went in same year as Stockton, David Robinson and Jerry Sloan. So I don’t see any issue with Kobe and Tim going in the same year, both had 5 titles, Kobe scored more points but Tim won more MVP awards, so maybe do joint headline enshrinement. I don’t think there are any other first year locks who will be eligible the same year as Kobe and Tim unless say KG suddenly called it a day.

KingPapasParticipantI’m talking keynote speaker, who will speak last etc. There has been some great HOF classes. Do you happen to know who headlined the Ewing and Hakeem one?

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantIf Duncan were a player who actually cared about these sort of things this could potentially be an issue. As it is, I think Duncan would gladly concede headline status to Kobe. It’s pretty cool that they will be going in together though, as the 2 most accomplished players of their generation.

HitsterParticipantIf Kobe conceeded it to Tim it would be such a respectful thing to do too. The alternative could be put a coaching legend in and give them top spot but I’d guess Popps will be in as soon as he is eligble.
