Rumors have been flying for weeks already, sometimes changing. But the end of the DRAMA is finally upon us. So of the many possibilities, who do you believe will finally be “our” guy?

Bender? Dunn? Brown? Murray? Heild? Other?

Or will a trade happen for Okafor? Noel? Haywood? Love?

or will a long shot come in, Cousins? Butler?

    Someone else?

Damn I can’t wait already. my gut feeling is J Brown since Ainge gets no biters on is trade requests.

But truth is I also know anything is still possible.

What’s your gut feeling saying ?

    GO!

I’m not a Celtics fan but looking at your team and draft situation I would be fairly surprised if you guys don’t end up trading the 3rd pick and probably others for players already in the league. You guys were a playoff team retaining most of your fairly young core, does a Bender or Murray or Hield help you win now? Maybe. Does a trade for a legit veteran help you win now? Most likely. I really think the Celtics could end up trading all their picks and a few guys for Kevin Love in some sort of trade. End up with no rookies next year and minus a role player or two and instead have a at times all star. I think Love would have a resurgence if boston gets him because he can be the main focal point of their offense. Kinda rambled a little bit but like I said I would be surprised if the Celtics keep the 3rd pick.

What i would like Ainge to do is:

Trade the 3 Pick for one of the Sixers bigs

Then use the picks 16, 23 and 31 to do a trade so Boston could pick Jaylen Brown (i see Brown in the range of 6-8).

Boston don’t need 3 or 4 rookies so this might be the best rout to take.

    What do you guys think?

This is not the NFL. A package of lower picks does not = a #6-8 pick.

Possibily if Rozier is included. 16 and 23 and Rozier. Might not get above 8 but maybe up to 10

I still have a feeling when it’s all said and done that okafor winds up with the Celtics. None of the players they would draft at 3 would fill an immediate need and this is a team looking to win now. Drafting Dunn at 3 (who the sixers really want) and swapping him for okafor just makes sense for both teams.

I think the T-Wolves really want Dunn. I think Ainge sees alot of himself in Brown, wants him, but probably thinks that three is too high a spot to pick Brown concidering all the interest in the 3rd pick. If Boston could get Brown and maybe Gorgui Deing (a Nerlens Noel clone) from Minny for the 3rd pick I think it would trump the Sixers Okafor offer (or a Noel offer). You know Thibs has to love the defensive potential of Deing but he is a huge "stop the ball first" guy and we all saw what he did with Rose out in front of his Bulls.

Okafor is definately the leading candidate. Anybody else is just guessing.

If they keep it, go best player available. Keep piling up assets.

They are a few years from being a championship contender and Ainge will take their assets and turn them into something.

I don’t really know who is the long-term BPA. I don’t see it as one of the guards, so I would take a chance on Bender if they can’t deal the pick.

There is no possible universe in which Brad Stevens wants Okafor. Look at the Cavs. Their ability to rotate defensively just won them the NBA Championship. Bigs getting out on the pick and roll is essential in the Celtics defensive schemes. Okafor at this time is a player who gives back every point he scores.

it seemed like they needed another perimeter scorer besides Thomas. I know they’re looking at Dunn or a trade, but why not take Buddy?

The Celtics should trade the pick and try to bring in Okafor.  If they can trade for Okafor and keep all of their key pieces, they could make a solid run at Durant.  With David Lee, Amir Johnson, and Jerebko coming off the books, the Celtics have about 60 million to play with, 55m after they bring in Okafor.

With 55 million in cap room, Avery Bradley, Isaiah Thomas, Jahlil Okafor, Marcus Smart, and Kelly Olynyk, the Celtics can sneak out of the 2016 off-season with Durant, Horford, Courtney Lee, and Joakim Noah.

They can enter next season with a line-up of:

    • Isaiah Thomas / Marcus Smart
    • Courtney Lee / Avery Bradley
    • Kevin Durant / Jae Crowder
    • Al Horford / Kelly Olynyk
    • Jahlil Okafor / Joakim Noah

That’s gotta be a top-2 team in the East, maybe even the best and a top-5 in the NBA.  The Celtics can have a very successful offseason.

He played on a team where the coach allowed two guards & a small forward to jack up 45 long range shots per game –

Igniting the opponent’s fast break & it was EZ bucket after EZ bucket

    I don’t know how a 19 y/o Center gets blamed for that

Noel’s blocks per game were cut in Half from 2.5 to 1.2 & he was Useless defensively – why does No one ever talk about Noel’s Massive Defensive drop off????

B/c it Ruins the Narrative that Everything is Okafor’s fault —- this team lost 199 games & won 47 the last 3 years – Okafor was there for 53 games……..

I’m sorry Analytics doesn’t tell the whole story here……..

Noel’s decline has everything to do with being played out of position at PF.

Finally, we can post. In the mean time very disappointed Ainge didn’t make or get any major trades. Did predict Jaylen Brown and after watching as much film as I could I do belive he will be a good one. Explosive finisher that can go right or left very well. Potential stud on defense. Also happy we didn’t draft a PG at 3.

Bender (my choice) I guess was just too young to make an immediate impact in Ainge’s eyes.

As a Boston fan I will say he better be. I do like Okafor and would have been happy to get him. But the word was Boston preferred Noel. What that tells me is Okafor’s value is lower than some think because his defense is not adequate enough.

His value has tanked because everyone knows that the Sixers need to trade him. Glad they didn’t give into the low ball offers. No matter how bad his D is he’s still a 20+ ppg high efficiency scorer. They don’t grow on trees.
