I’m a huge fan of both of these players BTW (I do not want to lose Okafor and I hate how Love’s being beaten up in the media)

Just thinking outside the box here, both guys seem to be on the outs by the media covering them (But for all we know the 76ers/Cavs love these guys and refuse to deal them away to potential competition like the Celtics)

I do think, however crazy it may sound right now, that an Okafor for Love can work out greatly for both players and teams

    1. FRESH START Cleveland gets back a young stud to pair up with fellow Dukie Kyrie Irving beyond the Lebron Era, Philadelphia can market Kevin Love as the 1st step towards the future with Ben Simmons emerging as the face of franchise in time

    2. CAP ROOM The Cavs would be saving close to 20 million in cap space which would certainly help out them in free agency, the 76ers start spending some money again thus showing to agents we arent still being cheap and are now very open to signing Free Agents

    3. FREE AGENCY Cavs get to actually add a piece or 2 to an already successful franchise, 76ers can lure a Guard or 2 in FA now that they know Philly has a young dynamic SF and All Star level PF…Lebron lures a few Vets to sign for less, Love lures a few younger guys to sign for a little more, guys like Delladova and Fournier make sense IMO

They should flip Okafor for some wing and or guard help.  Bringing in Love would essentially create the same logjam there is with the current roster no?  Plus, I believe Simmons and Okafor can play together…. Love and Simmons?  I don’t see how that could possibly work.

after watching the finals, i don’t think you want love as your veteran precense.  you definitely don’t want his contract either.

i actually think they should consider trading okafor for teague and hardaway jr and a pick.  atlanta gets a true low post player with size and can afford to let horford walk.  schroeder showed he can take over the pg role.  76ers get teague who would probably be the #1 scoring option and hardaway jr. who has showns signs of being a productive wing in ny.

Not a good move for either team. As much as love has been maligned in Cleveland his ability to stretch the floor has actually been a very important factor in their success. Even when he doesn’t have the ball, he opens up driving lanes for kyrie and lebron just by being on the floor. Swapping him for a traditional back to the basket center in okafor would completely change the dynamic of their team, and I don’t think for the better.

If the sixers are going to move okafor it will almost definitely be for guard help. Bringing in love just doesn’t make any sense, and i highly doubt he’d be too enthusiastic about it.

     1. Even with the difference in salaries between Love and Okafor, Cleveland would still be over the cap (counting the cap hold for Lebron). So they won’t be able to sign any free agents because of this deal.

    2. Love and Simmons play the same position. Don’t think you want to block Simmons,

    3. Cavs are in win now mode. I doubt the want to wait on Okafor’s development.

How does everyone seem to know what position Simmons plays?

He looks to me like one of the most versatile prospects I’ve ever seen. Considering that positions in the NBA are all about who you can guard, and he has the size and athleticsim to hopefully develop into one of the most of the versatile defenders in the league, I wouldn’r rule out the possibility of him playing any of the five positions on the floor.

I feel like speaking with certainty as to what his role will be on the NBA court is putting the wagon before the horse a little bit

Well, this series is 3-3 going back to Oakland, and Kevin Love has yet to have a "good game" in the Finals.

Lots of guys have been effective off the bench.  Kevin McHale, Toni Kukoc, and Lamar Odom come to mind.

Love doesn’t have to DOMINATE, just give them enough scoring, 3 point shooting, and a guy to help TT/LBJ on the boards.  Either starting or off the bench.

LeBron, Kyrie Irving, and TT are really rolling right now.  Even JR Smith is playing well.  Kevin Love could be a GSW backbreaker if he can get it going.

With Bogut hurt, Iggy banged up big time, and Mo Speights out of the rotation, Kevin Love could do some damage inside with no real paint presence (other than Festus Ezeli in glorified role playing limited minutes).

Yeah, if he stinks it up and the Cavs lose, then consider trading him.

If not.  Work him into the offense, and tell him to add some muscle.

If they DO trade him, why not trade him back to Minnesota?

Trade him for some combination of the 5th pick, Shabazz, then either Pek or Dieng.

Rubio, LaVine, Wiggins, Kevin Love, and Karl Anthony-Towns would be a heck of a core.
