McDunkinNo one’s quite sure exactly how this would work — likely least of all the guy who posted it. But a Cavaliers fan has started a GoFundMe campaign to prevent Kevin Love from playing in Thursday’s Game 6 of the NBA Finals, when Golden State visits Cleveland with a 3-2 series lead.
The goal? $10 million. Money collected so far? Hold on, let me check … ah yes. $15. Giles Debenham, who created the page, wrote:
Kevin Love is playing like a bum and just taking up room on the court. Pay this man to take a seat and let the Cavs win these finals!!
OK, that’s debatable. But this is obviously a joke, to anyone with eyes. A more practical GoFundMe would be to raise a couple mil to pay off a referee. At least that has precedence.

halfdecayedParticipanthis 2 points performance was horrible to say the least, and defensively he was himself, which is also horrible.. Just give Jefferson more minutes and let Frye take care of the rest IMO.. But it probably won’t happen, I think the coaching staff are still holding hopes that he’s gonna bring something to the table, but it has yet to happen..

BasketballGuru24ParticipantI really believe its a call from upper management to start love. I don’t care what anybody says but this is going to be his last few games in a cavs uniform.
It seems as if they are praying he could have some miracle game to drive his stock higher, or simply auditioning him for other teams.
It goes beyond the stat line with love. He seems to have lost all confidence. Every time Lebron or kyrie have the ball, he just wants to be as far away from it as possible. Lebron yelling at him or giving him the death stare after every bad position doesn’t help at all.
If this decision was up to Tyronne Lue, im sure he would be starting jefferson. I just don’t understand how you can play love 32 mins in must win games, when he is costing you more than he is providing you

The GoatParticipantI just crunched the stats and if you work out how much Kevin Love is paid and how much he’s played this season including the postseason, he’s making approximately $6580 per minute, just from his contract

top prospectParticipantdon’t know squat about basketball and the business behind it. Fans (u guys) need to remain fans. K Love’s situation is f’d up in Cleveland. Just ask Bosh and D. Wade.

mcbaileyParticipantI tried to ask them, but they just showed me a ring on both middle fingers. What do you think that means?

markfitz14ParticipantYup still the 2nd best 3pt shooter on the team after Kyrie. He is just slow and has no grunt on defense. Nobody has ever said driving into the lane "oh no there is KLove I’m about to get rocked"

McDunkinThe last game summed up big Kevs last 2 seasons in Cleveland. Every offensive possession he was involved with he either ran to the corner to space the floor or set an on ball… then ran to the corner to space the floor.
Every defensive possession he was on Golden State ran an on ball with his man so he’d have to guard the pick and roll. He was trying to stay with Curry, Klay and the rest of the Golden State guards… Then he’d try crash rebounds long.
None of that fits into what makes Kevin Love an elite basketball player. When LeBron traded for him he hoped that Love could be transformed, just like he transformed Chris Bosh. Bosh was always the scapegoat on LeBron’s teams and had to learn to be a rim protecting 3pt shooter so Miami could play him next to LeBron.
Love will never be an elite perimeter defender. He’s not even an average one. He’s an average post defender as well.
What makes him an elite player was his low post scoring (which is now rusty an unused), his ability to stretch the floor (he now stands in the corner every play), his offensive rebounding ability (hard to get boards standing in the corner) and his defensive rebounding (which is hard to do 25 feet from the basket, switching on to guards).
There are plenty of superstars who can’t play great defense (James Harden comes to mind), but Love at least tries. He puts effort in. He just doesn’t have the length or athleticism or the foot speed to be good at it.
Love would be elite in almost any other situation other than Cleveland (with LeBron) and Golden State (they have a once in a lifetime balance.
Trade him to a borderline team and if he’s allowed the freedom in the offence to do what he does well, he will excel once again.
On the Cavalier’s he is completely redundant.

TyroberParticipantThey arent going to bench him. Theyll feed him early and see how he does on his first few shots and if he throws up some bricks then Jefferson will be in the game soon after. Everyone makes a big deal about who starts but its who finishes the games that matters and it surely wont be Kevin Love.

NBAjunkie81ParticipantIn a 7 game playoff series it’s about Match Ups………. It’s very much like a Chess match…….
Bogut hardly played all year but he saved Golden State’s bacon in the Western Conferencre Finals against OKC………….
K.Love doesn’t offer much in the Match up against Golden State……. That does Not mean you get rid of the guy or that he is Not a Valuable member of the Team………….
the GM & the Coach have to put a team together that has pieces that may Only be used in certain situations against certain teams…….. Every Top team understands this & builds accordingly……….
