Pacersfan22ParticipantBrice Johnson. MJ takes a Tarheel, Brice will be able to step in immediately. This will be an interesting offseason for the Hornets but adding Johnson is a start after averaging 17/10 this past season.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantI’d go with Damian Jones. Hes sort of a project but has a decent upside and could develop into a strong rim-protector which is something this team doesn’t have right now. I’d let big al walk this offseason and focus on resigning batum and lin.
I don’t really like the idea of drafting ulis to replace lin because I don’t think you could get away with playing him and walker together for stretches defensively like you could with lin.

benny15Participanti’ll go with Brice Johnson. originally wanted to go with a combo guard who can help create the way lin did as a secondary play maker, but then batum is on top of their off-season priority list, and no matter who they take here wont replace him if he decides to sign elsewhere, so might as well go with the good local college kid who can be molded into a simillary type of role player as marvin williams was this past season.

nill650ParticipantI think they would take Baldwin if he falls with lin testing the market and 4 starters that need to be resigned but since he is off this board I am going with Siakam
I don’t think Brice will still be available and despite the unc connection, siakam fits exacly what they need.
darkhorse is Yabusele

OhCanada-ParticipantI think Charlotte would draft a player they are sure can contribute immediately and quite frankly after a playoff appearance with basically the whole roster on the open market I would too. Gotta show these guys you are committed to growth and adding to the team.
Caris Levert would be my pick if I was confident he could return and be healthy. Since I’m not and I do not have anyways to gauge how much risk would be associated with picking him I would look elsewhere. They really need a wing and Richardson has proved a few things. He has great size and length for a wing, he is a lights out shooter and a good athlete. Seems like a solid pick at 22.
Although Levert would be very tempting here as another ball handler/playmaker with Kemba and hopefully Batum.

HitsterParticipantBrice looks the sort of player MJ and co would draft from this place in the first round as the Hornets are fairly conservative drafters. Jones would also be looked at closely but I’m going with Cheick Diallo for the following reasons-
The Hornets let Biyombo walk last summer and possibly regret it.
Recently drafted bigs Frank the Tank and Cody Zeller are more finesse big man and Diallo gives more energy and defence options.
Al Jefferson is an FA and might move on or the Bobcats may be reluctant to commit him to a long term deal.
Associate Head Coach Pat Ewing is known for being a good developer of big men and a raw prospect like Diallo might be easier for Pat to mould and work with.

dremill24ParticipantMalachi Richardson.
Not his biggest fan, but he’s got a lot of raw talent at the wing. Great physical tools can help him be a very good defender if he wants to be. His solid handle and ability to create space allows him to get his own shot, but as of now most of those shots are a bad idea, which is his biggest problem. The Potential is there though, and with so many potential departures from CHA on the wing, the positional need makes some sense too.

Arc12345ParticipantI’m a big fan of the slightly undersized forward. I think he can become a really good player.
In what mold that is, remains to be seen…but I think his game has a lot of potential for growth. He’s got the desire and heart to be great. That’s half of it right there at this point.
