So I look at these 5 guys and kinda struggle to put them in order and who is likely to be picked before the other.

Kinda want to break it down and see what you guys think:

Best Scorer: Now-Valentine he has the ability to do a bit of everything. I think Beasley ultimately becomes the best due to his athleticism and stroke, I have doubts about Richardson at the next level, I think he was smart to come out whilst stock is high, but not sure how useful he will be.

Best Defender: Patrick McCaw I think he could be a lock down wing defender, if he can get a 3pt shot very valuable commodity.

Best All-Around: I thin Valentine and McCaw are pretty even here, again I think McCaw will be better long-term, but silly to count out an Izzo guy after what Green has done.

Most Potential: Malik Beasley I know it’s just from highlights, but you know when you watch someone and think that kid has something? I really get that feeling with Beasley and while I don’t think any of them will be All-Stars I see a Courtney Lee type role for him which is a good defender who can score and be a valuable piece.

Most likely to contribute immediately: Valentine kind of a no-brainer as he just has a great all-around game, defensively he struggles but he would be a really nice piece in the 2nd unit for a team.

What do you think of these guys? Who goes first?

You can’t say Denzel may be successful because he’s an Izzo guy like Draymond. Izzo is a great college coach but Draymond, ZBo, and Gary Harris being successful isn’t all because of him. It also ignores that guys like Shannon Brown, Adreian Payne, and a bit further back Mateen Cleaves failed as 1st round Izzo guys.

Coach K is a great college coach but had plenty of busts. Same for Roy. Boeheim too

Really the only guy that isn’t putting out busts is Cal, but that’s also a product of the recruits he gets. And he did have some failures at Memphis

This mock is ridiculously fluid. I don’t know if Skal goes 4th or 34th. Does Maker go before Zimmerman. How about Korkmaz or Luwawu. Murray or Valentine. Bender or Poetl. It’s so confusing I might now even make a mock draft this year. It’s all a crap shoot and it really comes down to each players fit from a personality standpoint because there is alot of players with unharnessed talent.

    I would go in Tiers.

Tier 1- Valentine and Beasley. Valentine for more passing and rebounding, Beasley for more defence and athletisism.

    Tier 2-Richardson, Bembry and McCaw.

Beasley is one of my favorite prospects in this draft. I like him the best of the bunch and think he could go late lotto.

Beasley is a very steady player with good all around skills and athleticsm, he’s like Anthony Parker/Cuttino Mobley type, if healthy should go 10-16 range… Richardson is player with great size for his position and is good athlete, basic skills and not assertive enough, reminds Tony Snell… McCaw has great instincts defensively, improving shotting and has some smoothness with the ball, at best could be maybe Larry Hughes/poor man Doug Christy type… Bembry and Valentine should be in separate discussion cause they more projected as offensive players and less 3 and d guys like the others…

I think the fact that Valentine does so many things well on the court helps him go first, then Beasley for his scoring talent.

After that it’s guys with some major flaws, but still plenty to like. I personally like the potential of McCaw most of the 3, but kinda think he’ll be picked last of them. I’m not a big Malachi fan but I think he goes before Bembry or McCaw. The size and raw skills are definitely there. But he needs to get better at shooting, show he can play defense, and most importantly be smarter with three ball.

Its a crapshoot with these guys. Valentine’s biggest flaw is his below average athleticism for his position, but can he become an all-star despite his athletic limitations? Beasley isn’t a great ball-handler right now and that will limit his overall scoring ability, and he needs to improve as a defender. McCaw needs to fill out his frame and get stronger and keep developing his all around game. Bembry needs to develop his jumper. Richardson probably is the most raw out of all of these guys and needs to work on making his jumper more consistent and we don’t know how he will play man to man defense since he played zone all year.

I would definitely rank Richardson last because his skills are not fully refined yet and he’s not a great athlete, but he is a gamer and there is something to be said about that. When the bright lights come on he shows up.

I would rank Valentine above him because Valentine has a beautiful shot, can dribble and pass, and understands how to play defense (He is just physically limited). I think Valentine’s physical limitations will make it tougher for him to play good enough NBA defense to become an all-star.

I would rank McCaw, Bembry, and Beasley as the top tier long term, and all of these guys to me are a crapshoot. If Bembry learns to shoot (which I’m not sure he’ll ever be a good jump shooter), he’ll be the best of this group. If McCaw gets stronger and refines his ball-handling a little, he’ll be the best of this group. If Beasley improves his ball-handling and gets better on defense, he’ll be the best. All 3 of these guys have all-star potential but also have potential to be a fringe rotation player.

Why do people compare Valentine to Draymond? Honestly, is it literally just because they went to Michigan State? Beyond that, I don’t see how people bring him up when talking about Valentine.

Valentine is a combo guard who is going to have to make up for his lack of physical skills with savvy where Green is super long, super strong and has a gritty personality that allows him to thrive.

I guess it depends on what you want from these five wings. If you want the "3 and D" guys, I’d assume Richardson, Beasley and McCaw could eventually fill those roles.

Beasley has the shooting but needs to improve his defense. Richardson has the frame but needs to improve his shooting and defense. McCaw has the shooting and defense but needs to put on weight.

Valentine and Bembry both could be guys that give scoring punch to a second unit or emerge as valuable glue guys in a starting five but neither is going to be drafted super high to develop into those roles.
