gabriel_akvaParticipantZach: it’s not Isaiah Thomas (current Celtics player). It’s Isiah Thomas (Detroit legend).
Time for some bigs now:
Heat take Dolph Schayes!
Sixers take Dave Debusschere.

canadabasketballisrisingParticipanta big is needed. I guess most people don’t know about W. Bellamy- averaged 20 and close to 14.
Neil Johnson 19 and 11.

yukoziParticipantDidn’t know Bellamy was that dominant. landofbasketball.com is a great reference for comparison, thanks for whomever posted that.
Ill go- Bellamy and then N. Johnson- both are double machines, and a true big at 7 feet is more rare than a pf like amare or blake right now.

SubZeroParticipantAs a Johnston, I feel compelled to clarify that it’s Neil JohnsTon, not Johnson. There’s no pain like that of a Johnston being mistaken for a Johnson.
Also, *Isiah Thomas. I don’t think anyone would get confused enough to think that the Celtics’ Isaiah got drafted already, but just for accuracy.
Heat – Walt Bellamy
Sixers – Pau Gasol

dmo21ParticipantMiami: Dwight Howard (Even if you hate him, he was really good. Plus that would be a pretty athletic team).
Philadelphia: Pau Gasol

and Dwight as defensive anchor with two volume scorers

ah well, I haven’t missed a round yet – so for the Heat – Paul George – and for the Sixers – Penny Hardaway

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantWow, everybody is riding the Walt Bellamy train. I suppose that’s the problem with relying on basketball reference too much. Walt’s a HOFer no doubt and put up some very good stats for a few years but he had plenty of detracters in his own era; he was often criticized for not playing motivated all the time, taking plays off and playing down to his competiton. There’s a reason he only made the HOF 18 years after he retired.
The guy only made 4 All-Star teams. All at the start of his career and during those four years his team never finished even close to .500. His first two years in the league were his most dominant and he was putting up those great numbers for Chicago teams that went 18-62 and 25-55. In today’s game, I have no doubt that many of the posters who voted for him would criticize him for putting up "empty stats" on a loser.
IMO he wasn’t really any better than someone like Cousins is right now. I probably would take him somewhere in the next round, I’m just surprised so many are riding him now.
Well both teams need bigs and could use defensive anchors. Heat take Dwight Howard to give them a rim protector. 76ers take Dennis Rodman to give them extra boards for shot happy AI and Reggie Miller.

WrecklessParticipantHow the hell did Stephon Marbury get picked so early? No love for my man Mark Price?
I have the Heat picking Dwight Howard. The 76ers take Paul George.
