The Warriors depth is really starting to show in these playoffs. I thought the Warriors owner was being a little cocky when he said this but they are really in a position to sustain injuries and cap flexibility for the foreseeable future. They have a big summer ahead of them, that will determine their next 5 years. One wrong move can cost them a lot.

Do you think they sign Harrison Barnes at his asking price? To me he is most expendable member of the core group.

Shaun Livingston is doing an excellent job filling in for Curry. I know the Warriors are rumored to be interested in Kevin Durant but do they sacrifice their depth to get him? injuries can happen at any time, These playoffs are a great case study for having depth. Having to let go of any combination of Livingston, Bogut, Iguodala, Barnes, or Ezeli will leave their margin for injury very slim if one of the top 4 went down. Thoughts on this topic???

I’ll say one thing, you absolutely have to keep Ezeli is Tristan Thompson getting the max from ur rival..He’s more rounded. Shaun Livingston And Iggy are X Factors/glue guys must keep probably the best 6 man combo for a long time ..To Me Bogut And Barnes are Expendable. Bogut being injury prone (thinking long term) I don’t like the idea of Durant going to the Warriors sounds bad though lol

Bogut is the only player the Warriors have on their roster that resembles rim-protection.He is probably one of their older players so his best days are behind him but that is just something I would consider.

Ezeli has missed half the season so I don’t think he is essential personnel. Maurice Speights has been looking great as of late and has been eating into Ezeli minutes.

When your back up has made 12 career 3’s filling in for the greatest shooter ever and you break the record for team 3s in a playoff game

Interesting post. I have been thinking about this for the last couple of days.

They will have to give up: Barnes, Bogut or Elzili, and Igoudala or Livingston, B. rush and barbosa (minimum) to sign Durant. (in freeagency).

If pressured this could be done in a sign and trade (if Durant announces he will only play for GS. Atleast: Barnes, Ezili, Livingston will have to be traded. There is a good chance that Thompson may have to be as well if it was a trade.

Don’t neg,, this is just what i’ve read.

But to have a lineup of: Ezili, Green, Durant, Igoudala, and Curry; (with a similar bench).

where you trade a package highlighted by barnes, and thompson for Durant could be potentially devastating.

Why would you trade when he’s a free agent?

Right.  sign and trade if that’s your only choice. Obviosuly it’s ideal to just sign him outright, and not have to trade, but he may force the issue for the extra year that only the thunder can give him. Ideally, if they just sign him, then they would just HAVE TO lose: barnes, one of the bigs, and Livingston, and maybe Barbosa which if you consider Durant is well worth it.

I think if they sign and trade they can get his birds rights, which means they wont have a problem to sign him over the cap in the future when Curry get’s expensive. Could be wrong tho..

Andre Iguodala was an olympian and one of the 12 players that was best fitted to win a gold medal. Steph goes out and they plug Iggy in. This is has natural spot as the third or fourth guy on a great team. Imagine if LeBron got hurt how quick the Cavs would be out. They would be swept. Curry’s out and they win by 33. I wouldn’t be shocked if Curry doesn’t play at all the next series. Why play him?

They will keep Bogut because hes prepared to take whatever the Dubs can afford to pay him.

Hes not geeedy and puts the team first. Hes been smart with his money and doesnt waste it on flashy things.

I think Bogut will stay. He is that veteran guy who will take a cut and sacrifice for winning.

Barnes on the other hand might go for the money. If his asking price is too much, the Warriors should let him walk. They are a team built around unselfishness, and if he doesn’t want to take a little less money to be on a great team, then he can leave.

Also, GS is going to be in that realm where good, veteran players are going to take a pay cut to play with them in hopes they get a ring. Kinda like Miami with the big 3 when Battier, Ray Allen and others went over to play with them for cheap.
