Boston would be a good one for him… Another one that I’d say is the Pelicans. He can work with Anthony Davis a lot and become a better shooter with him. He used to not have a jump shot and maybe Davis can help him with that. He would also benefit from not being the "star" of the team, just to keep him humble and in check. There’s also not as much to do in New Orleans as there is in LA. So he won’t be "starstruck" I guess is the word you would say… Davis can help keep him in line, and they would have the potential to be the scariest front court duo the NBA has had in a while.

Timberwolves. They may not be a playoff team now but there so young and talented when the core hits there prime they will be an upper echelon playoff team. Towns, Wiggins, Lavine, Rubio. Insert Simmons at the 4 and a good coach and this team isplayoff ready to go for the next 10 years.

That would be a weird team that could be like the warriors but weirder. As a twolves fan that would be great. He could run the offense. Lavine is a 40% 3P shooter. Towns will be a three point shooter in a year or 2 same with wiggins. Both of those guys can are great in the post as well. Simmons can pretty much play anywhere on the court as well, especially if he gets a mid range jumper. Then shabazz and gogui off the bench, both are versetile. They could even trade rubio for a 3 and D point guard/combo guard and let simmons run the offense.

The Wolves actually seem like the worst fit for him. Simmons wants the ball in his hands, and with Wiggins, Towns and Lavine there, he’s not getting it. Simmons also is a good fit if he plays the pseudo-PG role while the PG on paper spots up on threes ala Harden and Beverly. With Rubio and Simmons, spacing will be a nightmare.

Yeah, they would probably trade rubio if they added simmons. The twolves either need a playmaking replacement for rubio, if rubio adds an average or above average 3 pointer, he is a good fit, or a three and D player ideally a SF/PF. They have more than enough scoring in wiggins, towns and lavine, I think they could all be 20 ppg scorers in the league.

A perfect team for him would be Phoenix with Booker. They then could trade Bled and have Simmons Knight and Booker as their cornerstones

I think it’s ideal for him, fans, and the NBA as a whole for him to be a Laker. The most electrifying player in the draft could restore that magic feeling back into this franchise. Would make up the nucleus with Randle, Clarkson, Russell, etc. We as fans would get to see just how well his cerebral game translates once there’s some real talent around him.

Boston is the best choice in terms for immediate success but I think LA is where he could take the team over and prove that he’s in fact a budding superstar.

Plus he gets to stay in that purple and gold.

They’d either have to trade Randle or Simmons would have to learn to shoot and play the 3. Simmons is pretty far away from that and I don’t think they’d get the value that Randle is worth in a trade. I think his value will go up by the 2017 draft, but trading him today won’t pull in the Nerlens Noel type they need.

Damn how many transcendent talents are the Lakers going to pass on because of Julius Randle.

Randle seems like a fringe starter at best on a contender….

Although when I look around the league at contenders, their starting PFs are much, much better than Randle. (Aldridge, Love, Green, Griffin, Ibaka).

Therefore hes probably a quality backup if the Lakers are serious about building something.

…hes totally dispensable if the best player available is at his position in my opinion.

I don’t understand why they can’t play together.  They can switch everything on D.  Both are excellent Rebounder’s and if you can keep guys in front of you at most positions a "rim protector" becomes less relevant.

If you are operating under the assumption that neither Randle or Simmons because average shooters than yeah it would make sense to trade Randle.  I am not of that belief.  I think they will both turn into at least decent mid range shooters.  Randle is a tireless worker,  his shot will improve as do 90% of NBA players in their early 20s.

I am definitely in the minority in thinking that they can play together.  To take it one step further I think Nance, Randle and Simmons could all share the court at the same time.  It’s inevitable that Nance adds the corner 3.  Would all 3 of them playing together equate to success next year?  Doubtful.  But it’s not about next year for the Lakers.  It’s can they play together in 2 or 3 years assuming even minimal player development and the answer is absolutely yes.

But obviously if you get Simmons and have to move one it’s Randle.  Anybody who argues otherwise must have a direct relation to Randle.

And there would be no rush either.

They could  give it a chance and wait 3 years if they had to.

Lakers need Simmons to bring some showtime back to LA.

Unfair to compare Randle not being as good as Aldridge, Love Griffin, Green when he was pretty much a rookie this season and is 21 years old. He has lots of potential and needs time to develop, who knew Draymond coming out of Michigan State would become an All Star?

New Orleans and LA are the two best fits. Simmons and Davis would take the league by storm.

    Suns by a mile…

Not a single PF under contract, two 7’1 C, no true PG, devin booker, anonymous SF.

Freedom, pace, westcoast,  lose…..perfect  team for HIM.

Stat stuffer like griffin in LAC before CP3.

As mentioned above, Simmons next to KAT with Wiggins on the wing and LaVine at the 2. Perfect set roster for the next 10

As a Suns fan, I’d obviously say he’d be a good fit there but looking at their roster he could slip in at 3 or 4, would have guys to space the floor for him.

NOP would be great to see him team up with the Brow, they resign Ryan Anderson to help spread the floor.

Lakers don’t pass on him because of Randle, they play around each other or Randle plays some C in a smallball line up.

Denver have some decent supporting players so he could play 3 or 4 for them easily.
