With the 31st pick and first pick of the second round, the San Antonio Spurs select… Arvydas Sabonis!!!
With the 32nd pick of the Ultimate NBA Re-Draft, the Los Angeles Lakers select… Rick Barry out of Miami!!!

Due to the picks being different and position matters, I will no longer be showing results. Also, I have made this google doc that shows each teams rosters so far as well as the draft so far. Please let me know if for some reason you can’t open the document, and I will fix it. But you should be able to open it.

    https://docs.google.com/document/d/1casHMxXTupoimdrA_bSoZPW5djfv2F4eGr0-xofuEDc/edit?usp=sharing

Once again… Thanks to all those who are participating. Also, we are picking these off of durability not based off of their primes which was not clear to some people. Anyways, let’s get some more votes!!! Tell your friends and family to make nbadraft.net accounts so they can vote, anything!!!

The Celtics/Suns are now on the clock…

Wait just kidding…I read it’s off durability…I’ll change celtics choice to Russel Westbrook…with him and Dwade running in transition no one can stop their athleticism (except on those nights when their jumpshost are broken)

Elvin Hayes has to get picked here. He played 16 seasons and never missed more than 2-games I’m that span and a 20 10 plus guy. Underrated.

Cetlics: Oscar, look at the guy, he was Bird before Bird. Not much d, but an amazing shooter and scorer.

Suns:  E. Hayes (agree with my fellow Canadian)

Glad to see everyone getting passionate about justifying their picks!!! 🙂 for me this one is pretty simple. Both wade and Baylor give you similar choices – do you address the 3p shooting need early, or pair them with big men? For me, right now there’s better bigger men left on the board. So for the celtics, and dwayne wade, I go Bob Pettit.

for the Suns (sorry to make this confusing) I go Pettit if available, or if not, George Mikan.

Oh – and just peeked at the Google doc -can you include draft order on it somewhere? And also- not sure about assigning these guys positions just yet – I’ll probably be basing my picks on playing Lebrun James at the 4, and Moses Malone at the 5…

If you go down far enough, the draft order is on there, it is just a couple pages down. Glad to see people looking at it tho…

And wow-we desperately need some more players – currently there’s two guys winning with 2 votes each.

just a thought-if the numbers don’t pick up, maybe we could do a second round of voting each time somehow – so for instance, I see two celtics votes for Pettit, two for Schmidt, and two for Elvin Hayes -maybe people should have a chance to switch their votes onto one of these to push them ahead? Otherwise, if numbers stay low, we’ll have the same problem every round.

Chris Paul to the Celts to pair with Wade, Reggie Miller to pair with Elgin Baylor on the Suns. It’s interesting to hear people try and compare people across eras, I think Elvin Hayes is being tremendously overrated (45.2 fg%, three seasons of 10+ win shares in a diluted era), as is Pete Maravich (no seasons of 10 win shares). Bob Pettit is probably underrated, but it’s hard to envision a 6’9 200lb white power forward dominating any of today’s players.

      —————————————————————————————————————————

He was a shade over 6-8 barefoot and weighed about 245 lbs in his prime, not really any different than Kevin Love (although Jerry Lucas’ game was more similar to Love with his outside shooting, terrific rebounding and outlet passing).

      Celtics – Bob Petitt

Suns – Jason Kidd, a fantastic passer and to get the ball to Baylor. I was tempted to go for Nash but I feel like his defense would be real liability going against the other top PGs in history.
