Just my opinion but if you’re going to do an ultimate/all-time redraft, I feel like it’d be appropriate to base this on all-time winning percentage instead of the win-loss record this season.

That being said, I’m taking Magic Johnson with the 2nd pick as well.

     Ok… I like that idea better… Ok… so

The LA Clippers selected Michael Jordan and the Minnesota Timberwolves are now on the clock…

So those saying they are picking Johnson… he’s for the Timberwolves.

Give me shaq.  He isn’t the popular pick. But he was the most dominate player I’ve ever seen. In my opinion.  he would also be very easy to build around. No disrespect to Kareem wilt the dream. And the general. much as I like magic.  Shaq can also make players around him better. I’m guessing it’s the system u would perfer. For the record I grew up disliking shaq

I ll take LeBrons body of work over 13 years and the promise of perhaps another 7 more productive years. If he can avoid the injuries that plagued Kobe the last 3 years, Lebron will retire as perhaps the leading scorer in NBA history. ( currently 13 th but 45 points from 11 th and 11,700 ish behind Lew Alcindor/KAJ). I would find this to be an amazing accomplishment as his game was more well rounded and he is far from the scorer of Jordan, Kobe, or even Durant yet his longevity and durabuility would place him ahead of all time greats.

I also think Shaquille was the most unstoppable for a period of time. I’d pick him and try to talk him out of being supremely lazy as he got older so that he dominates for much longer than he did.

I’m a Celtics fan, so this is killing me. I considered Jabbar, however there are so many great big men (Wilt, Shaq, Akeem, etc) but only one point guard like Magic. I might have even taken him over MJ.

I would take Magic as he is the top quality at his position. It’ll be easier to grab a nice big man later on.

I’d take Tim Duncan. Not because I believe he is the second best player of all-time, but because you know what a model of consistency you are getting to lead your franchise for 2 decades. Plus he has virtually no ego, will adapt to any role you want him to play, and is one of the best teammates of all-time by any measure. It would be difficult for me to think of anyone I would rather build a team around.

if he had the personel jordan had around him there would be alot more votes at 1 imo.

Lebron talent wise and to build around. Since this is a redraft you have to consider this is from scratch roster wise. Uber athlete thats one man fastbreak, willing passer, high IQ.

History shows it is easier to build around a big man. Who better than Shaq. This is not about legacy or all time ranking but simply about who somone would want to start a team with. Shaq is a good defensive center and the most unstoppable thing to have ever played the game. Double team every time he touched the ball not to mention is also a attractive catch for any team. Plus with todays 3 point shooting and floor spacing, his impact would be that much greater.

I’m impartial to newer players because our study of the game and how muscle is built is astronomically better. Today, Magic Johnson is probably a point forward like Draymon Green while Wilt Chamberlain is probably Dwight Howard with actual post moves (wow), but less vertical. Kareem can handle any era: the sky hook is forever unstoppable. Larry Bird would be launching way more 3’s. It’s all so different.

I am a BIG Larry Bird fan and I would take him over anyone. BUT truth is Magic should be picked above Larry Legend and even Jordan for the simple reason that he has the biggest Margin over the next best at his position compared to others and their respective positions. Examples Shaq/Wilt/Kareem/Hakeem at center. Bird/Lebron at SF, Jordan/Kobe at SG. Duncan/KG or Barkley/K Malone at PF. compared to Magic and who? Isiah or Stockton? Again all great players, but Magic has the biggest edge.

damn I hated to write this.

Hakeem. Offensive and defensive anchor. Most skiled offensively out of all big men and no character issues.
