Guards and coaches, Sacramento goes through them like Walter Payton went through defensive lines.

Where does McLemore go?  Cavs, with Koufos, has been mentioned.

Will he become a big star like Thomas, or end up out of the league, temporarily maybe, like Jimmer soon?

You just know the Kings will now use another lotto pick on a shooting guard.  Buddy or Jaylen, watch out, the Kings will ruin you too.

Yes, the Kings are a mess… Absolute disfunctional team, aswell as in basketball decisions and player development.
But I won’t go as far to say they ruined Fredette, Stauskas, McLemore and Thomas.

Maybe I won’t get many fans in this site, because those were very popular prospects (except IT), but:
Fredette and Stauskas was slightly overrated prospects with no real upside (especially Fredette), something became evident in Year 1 – In my opinion no team can ruin a player’s career in only one year, not even the Kings. They got rid of both and they both struggled thereafter…
Thomas won the starting spot in Sacramento in all of his three seasons and played well there, now he’s an All Star, so he isn’t ruined. He did exactly the same thing with the Kings, but only few saw the rose in the chaos.
You may can say Sacto ruined McLemore, who in common sense had potential, though I was never enamored with him, in my eyes he’s like Derrick Williams, overrated top draft prospect always waiting to materialize his "potential", which never came.

There’s a good chance the Kings will select a SG, and there’s also a good chance they will ruin him, but these 4 guys you mentoined aren’t good examples, they would have gone mainly the same way with a different franchise.

I’d take McLemore for Doug McDermott or even Mirotic right now. Sorry Bulls fans.

Mirotic is not being traded. You can’t get fair value for him. He is so good, but no team will offer up better starters for him. They would offer garbage trades like McLemore even tho Mirotic is better and has more potential. The only possible trade would have to include some lottery picks and even then I wouldn’t do it.

Include thomas robinson and you have all the kings top 10 picks since cousins was drafted outside of cauley stein. Not a single average NBA starter in that group and only mclemore is left. He deserves to be upset and angry. Then throw in a bunch of coaches and players coming and going every year. As good as he is, I am surprised he hasn’t tried to force a trade. If he went to any team with decent players, a solid coach and front office and a chance to win, his reputation and endorsements would go way up.

I happen to live in Sacramento, watch several Kings game and can tell you that Willie Cauley Stein is going to be a very good player for the Kings. Has potential to be one of the best defenders in the league, has room to grow offensively and has been doing just that. Kings actually did well drafting him, I don’t say that often……

As a twolves fan, they blew a bunch of picks before and after kevin love and now he is gone. The kings needed to hit on someone, it might be too late to contend with cousins, since they don’t really have anyone around his age and no free agent is lining up to go there. The timberwolves got stuck being capped out and in a place where free agents don’t go. They got lucky and got wiggins and tanked for a year and got towns.

It makes sense for the kings to trade cousins and try to reset with young players. They could get a lot for him especially since he has 2 years left. That nets pick plus two more celtics picks and maybe olynik would work and the kings could trade rudy gay and possibly get a late lottery pick as well. Then they could tank for another year and get another top 5 pick. That way at least they could have a chance at contending for a championship. I am happy the twolves traded love and tanked for 2 years after because now they at least have a chance to contend for a championship in a few years.

include tyerke evans and hassan whiteside, they gave up these players for nothing. but to answer Ben mac is a good young player, he doesnt take wild shots and plays solid d. 3 and d guys are the wave if he goes to a team like the bulls look out.

He doesn’t play solid D though.  He’s a bad defender, which makes him just a 3 player, and a very specfic 3 point shooter too.  He doesn’t shoot well on the move, doesn’t shoot well off the bounce.  He’s basically an athletic catch and shoot 3 pt specialist with poor ball skills, very little floor game, low IQ and bad defense.  Who knows whether its his fault or their fault he hasn’t developed, but he hasn’t.

As for the Kings’ recent picks.  I don’t necessarily think they’ve ruined them.  I just think they’ve been terrible at drafting recently.  Fredette and Stauskas were both bad picks.  McLemore wasn’t as bad of a pick but there was some risk there bc of his poor ball skills low IQ, both traits that historically don’t improve significantly.

Frist off Stauskas and Jimmer were awful picks. I told my buddies that back when the Kings drafted them. Because right now neither one plays for the Kings, and they still suck! I’m finding out that right now front offices, coaching staffs like the Kings, Lakers, Clippers don’t develop their players very well. As good as Boogie is right now, I think on another team, they would develop him even more. The Clippers never keep there draft picks to develop them and I’m not too sure what’s going on with the Lakers young guys? I feel that McLemore could be a solid pro. I bet once McLemore gets traded, next season you will see him improve his game.

Agreed, I think Ben gets it going somewhere if he gets traded.  Kind of surprised that he didn’t start playing better when Rondo came.  I expected Ben to blossom this year with a great pass first pg.  However, it has to be hard to get your looks and confidence up playing next to Rudy Gay and DeMarcus Cousins.  Hope Ben gets relocated and shows the NBA what he can do.
