“Stacey is getting (expletive) d just like the last time he was here,” Leslye Augmon wrote on her Twitter account, @RebelPride32. “Todd Simon really? ?????? I am done #RebelFamily NOT
Leslye Augmon later deleted the tweet, posting, “Yes I had to delete the tweet. I am ride or die for my husband like he was for this University. Nuff Said.”
“In response to a supporter, Leslye also pledged her continued support for the program, replying, “I will continue to support #My Rebel Sons I have been silent a long time.”
I think UNLV probably would have fired Rice sooner but didn’t want to risk losing Zimmerman. I’m pretty sure Augmon was confident that he was next in line and I started to think the same.
Simon could turn out to be a great college coach and maybe he was always who the program had in mind to take over…he just came a year early. It’s just a weird coincidence that it was the ex coach of Findlay Prep (named after one of UNLVs biggest boosters) instead of giving Augmon a try out even for a few months.

IlladelphParticipantAugmon’s wife is the problem. Seems like the consensus opinion of her is that she is a loud-mouth jerk, and her twitter rants are evidence of that. If I were the UNLV athletic director I would keep her as far away from the program as possible. She probably cost her husband the head coaching job.

Sure she shouldn’t be out there going off on the program, but she’s far from the only coaches wife, booster, etc that has ran their mouth off when things didn’t go their way. Also pretty sure this happened after Augmon did not get the job.

I don’t think I want to live in a world where UNLV runs a clean, transparent program.

ph90702As a UNLV fan, I can explain. Todd Simon got the interim job because of his connection to Cliff Findlay, who is an influential booster. Personally, I think it’s the right hire. He has a very calm demeanor, but he’s not a robot like Dave Rice either.
