This is obviously a theroetical question as:

1)Kobe is retiring with the Lakers

and 2) Kobe would noe be content being a role player (such as Duncan, Garnett, Pierce, ect.)

If 1 and 2 were not true, which contender (this is assuming Kobe would except limited shots/ and control of the offense) would Kobe fit best on, in a 15-25 (max) minute a night situation where maybe he starts and closes out games, or maybe as a sixth man with alot of support??

spurs? thunder? cavs? clippers? grizzlies (would make a contender i believe)…..  (don’t see warriors as much)

If kobe was to join another team at this stage of his career i could see hime joining the clippers as that’s just the sort of thing that would happen to the lakers these days. However i just can’t see Kobe being a role player and taking limited shots just doesn’t hav that sort of mentality.

Kobe Bryant is a legend?  If you don’t respect him as a basketball player, maybe you should pick a different sport to watch.  Inefficient or not, his legacy will be remembered far beyond just his final season.  Keep it real, Kobe.  The game is going to lose something truly special whenever you are gone.

Not sure if they’re a contender but maybe the wizards playing the role that Pierce played last season. Maybe he could provide some scoring punch off the bench for the grizzlies. Really he wouldn’t be a good fit on any team though at this stage of his career.

Not sure Kobe could be a role player. Iverson was a great player and xould not do it and I think Kobe has a similar mindset that would stop him being a role player. That is no disrespect to either player though because it is that mindset that made them league greats and dominant forces.

That being said, the only team that has the record of transforming players to that extent is the Spurs.

Of course it’s not going to happen but I think out of the contenders the Bulls would be cool.
Got a good rapport with Gasol and obviously the MJ connection would be hype.
Takes some pressure off Rose and Butler scoring wise.

Bulls would be a great fit. I’m scared the Bulls can’t win unless Jimmy plays 37+ minutes every night!

I know he wouldn;t accept being a role player, if he did, he proabbly could still play a few more years, but he would nevcer do it…. just wondering… i always liked the idea of either the spurs or cavs.. i think he could be a great fit as a closer in cleveland, where he doesn’t have to do much else..

To be honest if he went to Memphis he prob wouldn’t even have to be a role player, he would probably be the #1 scoring option and with the rest of that team around him they might actually become contenders again.

I agree, with the half court slow it down pace, and strong D, I think Kobe could trhrive, and average 20-22 ppg even..

I think it would be definitely interesting to see him in OKC (I honestly don’t think have "it" this year).

If he could possibly play the role that Fisher did (3 & D, leadership etc) for those few years he would do it much better.

Would be interesting to see how he meshes with Russ as well as Kobe said himself they are similar players.

I can see Kobe doing well with OKC.  He is no longer an elite first option, BUT I think he can be a 3rd option IF the two guys ahead of him are VASTLY better than he is.

If he went to OKC, then there is no doubt who the top 2 guys are.

Kobe would be GREAT at spacing the floor.  They can run some offense through him, taking some pressure off Russ and KD.

Or, what happens, is Kobe plays a lot with the second unit as their go-to scoring option.
