Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantI know its early but i get the feeling this is going to be an interesting season. Not sure there is a really dominant team out there.

CU.LIONSParticipant“UCLA loses to Monmouth, beats kentucky ”
I think wins and losses like this is always good for college BB. Unpredictability is what makes CBB great IMO

JordanC20ParticipantKentucky beats Duke and loses to UCLA…Kentucky is going to have to work on rebounding…Dakari Johnson would have been a big help this year if he stayed.

Memphis MadnessParticipantThis begs the question: how GOOD is Monmouth?

CU.LIONSParticipantWell Monmouth just lost to Canisius. Like I was saying, it’s college BB. Another reason why I stopped making bets a long time ago.

jwall1ParticipantAs a UCLA student who was at the game, here were my impressions.
First, I came in with the mindset that I was there to watch Kentucky’s future lottery picks (Skal and Jamal) and that UCLA would get blown out.
Skal was very unimpressive. He was very soft and for the most part a non factor for UK. I see him slipping quite a bit if he does not grow more as a player and put forth better efforts…
Although he struggled with his shot , Jamal Murray clearly looked like the best player on Kentucky’s team. He took good shots offensively (just wasn’t his night) and defensively the effort was there. I really like his game and in watching him live it is clear he will be a great NBA talent.
As a Bruin I loved the effort our team put forth, and if we brought this kind of effort to every game we would be a much better team.
And lastly, it was great to see coach Cal’s constant rants at the refs live.

BleedingBlueParticipantThis is slightly off topic but Monmouth has beaten UCLA AND Notre Dame this season so far. They lost to USC but avenged their loss a few days ago. Besides that, their only loss is a 3-point one to a solid Dayton team. Does anyone else think this could warrant an at-large bid if for some reason they don’t win the MAAC?

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantIt’s a long season but those are certainly impressive wins to have on your resume. If they finish their non-conference slate strong and finish at or near the top of their conference they would have a compelling case for an at large bid.

PrecociousNeophyteParticipantThey still have a game against Georgetown on their schedule. If they can win that game and not lose more then maybe one or two games the rest of the season they will have a shot at an at-large. Any other loss the rest of the season besides against G-town would be considered a bad loss.

Robb_CParticipantManhattan could give Monmouth a run for their money, The MAAC as whole is looking very good…

SubZeroParticipantSkal has been super disappointing so far. Hopefully he’ll turn it around, but right now he looks crazy soft. Like I don’t know how you’d be fine in the NBA and avoid contact as much as he does. He’s looking more like Channing Frye than Chris Bosh to me. Jamal Murray’s been our only big name Freshman to meet expectations so far (I’ve also liked what I’ve seen from Charles Matthews, and defensively from Isaiah Briscoe)
