valentineI almost started a thread earlier today, worrying about the Nets being sneaky not terrible.
You look at their starting lineup and it’s actually pretty decent, with RHJ really stepping up as a rookie as a defensive stopper/glue guy like Winslow.
Celtics play Nets twice this weekend, and I don’t think it’s going to be easy.
Even a top 5 pick isn’t a lock at this point. Nets are not too bad, like the East in general.

he_gets_bucketsParticipantThey’re 2-9, lost to Atlanta by 14 last time they played, let one of the most anemic offences in the league in Memphis score 100+ on them and are 29th in Offensive rating and 25th in defensive rating. They’re flat out terrible, and one win against a team that was missing its starting backcourt in Jeff Teague and Kent Bazemore and had to give 20 minutes to both Shelvin Mack and Justin Holiday means nothing. Oh and lets not forget they lost to the freaking LAKERS, which by itself is a measure of complete and utter ineptitude

FrankStalloneThey’re 2-2 in their last 4 games, with one OT loss and the other by 2 points.
Rondae Hollis-Jefferson is now a starter and it’s showing.

mgreener_34ParticipantThe problem with the Nets is they are one Jarret Jack, Brook Lopez, Thadeus Young injury from going on a 20 games lossing streak. Jarret Jack is having the best year of his career so far, averaging about 15-7-5, and has been the key player for them up until this point. The team will go how he goes, and nights when he is going against opposing guards who can limit his effectiveness, the Nets are most likely going to lose. Makes sense that the only two teams they have beaten were a Hawks team with no Teague, and a Houston team with the worse defensive backcourt in the entire NBA…
