Stop_basketball_nonsenseParticipantSo much talk has been going on regarding the warrior’s recent championship. Some has been in the media and even on this site before Doc Rivers opened his mouth.
To be honest, the warriors did just play whom ever was put in front of them, & I in record as always believing the Clippers have no deserving resume to warrant such a shot at the warriors. I am against all who have believed the clippers were ever a true championship contender in the Chris Paul, Blake & deandre era in either the del negro or rivers coaching years. Cp3 has been their sole complete player, besides matt Barnes in the sense that both can score & defense & that’s laughae considering Barnes is an ageing role player. Every time they have the chance to showcase whether or not they can beat the elite teams they fall short!
Now to be honest again, their have been talks on this site that the warriors are an all-time great team, which is extremely hilarious to me. They did win the championship, but let leave it at that because they did get a lot of help.
@ Rockets, they won 4-1, but Beverley was hurt & yes he is a role playee but after seeing the physicality that delly played curry with in a series, I am inclined to think that if Beverley, with his pitbull defense had played the warrior’s guards would have had to work a lot harder, & curry wouldn’t have had it so easy
@Grizzlies, notably the warriors metaphorical crytonite, were without a doubt unhealthy. Mike Conley 2nd team all defense missed a game & played wearing a mask the remaining games of the series, & I have to think his vision wasnt 100% considering his eye injury. Tony Allen 1st team defense missed a game & I’m not sure he was a100% either, so they lost 4-2 with 2 games lost without their all nba defensive guards, makes think what if they had played those 2 games could have been wins.
@Cavaliers, so no love or Irving. Let’s be honest the cavsloomed like they would take game 1 with a healthy Irving, i mean they did beat the bulls with that roster 4-2. Whether or not you believe in the bulls makes no difference, the cavs still seemed to have an edge with Irving. They couldn’t stop lebrin & with the help of movgoz, Thompson, & com the cavs still pulled off 2 games! I mean how did it seem possible that an all- time great team allowed Such an injury riddled team to pull off 2 wins. I will tell you what’s wrong with this title its told without truth. When we look back on this road to the championship over so many injury riddled teams, regardless the warriors will always be a champion all-time on the lists of champions, but please leave the word, great, out of their story, for yes they did beat whoever was in front of them, which wasn’t their fault, but greats get that title because they beat the other teams at their best, which is something, the 2015 warriors just simply did not do, & I hardly believe they could.

halfdecayedParticipantTheir run was so overrated let’s be honest.. Had they faced the spurs or the clippers or an healthy cavs team their chance of winning it all is small.. btw howard was injured too lol.. and we all will realize this if every team is healthy this season.

PulseGlazerParticipant67 wins. One of the most dominant regular seasons ever statistically. You play who’s in front of you. They dominated the year and deserved to win. The end.

adumParticipantAgreed, they had no control over their opponents.
But every Champion gets lucky it just so happened that the Warriors got lucky 3/4 series.

VRod305ParticipantCavs wouldn’t have won anyway. Kyrie Irving is garbage. They were better in the playoffs without him and he clearly didn’t want to play with whatever fake injury he sat out those two games with. Had Gasol played, they would have lost that series. Golden State deserved to win. End of story. You can only beat who is on the schedule. I think they will have trouble with the Spurs like everyone else. I see the Heat giving the Cavs a lot of trouble and (if healthy) beating them.

VRod305ParticipantI also don’t understand what LeBron is doing. He clearly should have traded Irving and Love, resigned Thompson, found a real point guard and not gave away that draft pick. I’m interested to see how this season plays out.

llperezThey got an easier path then normal due to injuries and as a fan who wants to see teams compete at full strength, that was disappointing. With that said I do believe they were the best team in the nba and would have won the whole thing regardless. So I don’t see it as a tainted ring at all. They are a hell of team and I don’t need to see them vs everyone at full strength to appreciate how good they were.

trelos6ParticipantSpurs may have knocked them off, Clips too, and hey, IF Conley was healthy, and Dwight, and Beverly.
But ultimately, THEY WEREN’T. Winning an NBA Championship is about playing an 82 game season and winning enough games to make the playoffs. Enough games to ensure you get a high seed for home court advantage. Then you need to win 16 games. It doesn’t matter how many you lose (so long as it’s no more than 12).
A team that wins 4-3 4-3 4-3 4-3 are just as deserved NBA champion as a team that wins 4-0 4-0 4-0 4-0.
We look back on the Lakers three peat as some glory years of dominance. In 2000, Blazers took Lakers to 7 (and it was close), and Sacramento in round 1 was best of 5 only.
In 2001, they pretty much steamrolled everyone. But in 2002, they had a tough series v Kings, which went to 7 and anything could have happened.
So we have a glorified 3 peat and it could’ve been 1 from 3.
Another look is the mighty Celtics. They dominated the regular season but in the 2008 playoffs, Atlanta took them to 7, Cleveland took them to 7, Detroit and Lakers to 6. All of those series were a toss up. But, the CELTICS were able to beat who was placed in front of them.
What the WARRIORS did was remarkable. They had a 67 win season and then knocked out 4 straight teams to win the chip.

OhCanada-ParticipantThis topic frustrates me. 16 teams make the Playoffs and 1 team wins the Championship. They were that team and luck has nothing to do with it. I bet if you asked any of their opponents if they got lucky they would laugh at you. They won. They worked hard. This is a special team and they are easily the favourites this year.
You’ve gotta change your perception of what happened. What actually happened is through hard work and perseverance opportunities presented themselves which they capitalized on. Had they not worked hard and stayed focused on their goal they would not have won. But they did.
I’m sure they had their own crop of nagging injuries or times of doubt/reasons to quit but they didn’t. They are champions and they proved they are a legit force.

OaktownWarriorsParticipantLast season, the Warriors posted the 4th best record ever in NBA history. So why would them winning the title be considered "lucky"? Remember this…as the NBA Champion Golden State Warriors attempt to defwnd their title this season. The Clippers will try AGAIN, to make it out of the 2nd round and try not to BLOW A 3-1 lead!!! Golden State Warriors 2015 NBA Champions, with 2015 MNA MVP Curry! if you dont like the truth, change the truth! Clipper fans are cry babies!

sheltwon3ParticipantThey is a lot of hard work and also luck in winning a Championship. I am a Lakers fan but those Spurs Lakers series were decided by a lot of clutch shots and the winner of that series tended to win it all.

sitlbitoParticipantI love what Draymond Green said about "good organisations". He basically said San Antonio and OKC didn’t whine about anything and got back to work instead of saying the Warriors were lucky. And he’s right that’s the difference between a classy organisation(OKC,Spurs) and a not so classy(Clippers). By the way, nobody talks about the Warriors facing the Grizzlies who,to me,were a tougher matchup than the Clippers for the Warriors. So they can’t be lucky about not facing the Clippers, who knows if they were better than the Grizzlies? We’ll never know. The Warriors had the best score differential since the 96 Bulls by the way….

halfdecayedParticipantokc and spurs don’t whine because they know they’ll be there next year and beat them in the playoffs for sure if healthy.. like honestly had Durant been heallthy is there anyway the warriors could had contained Westbrook? no way, Curry’s defense being so overrated, people forget how bad he is defensively because he has the luxury to gamble with Bogut and Green backing him, but Ibaka and Durant would have stretched the floor and openned the lane up for Westbrook and well.. you know Curry would have gotten his ass whooped in that series, just please.

ncballerThis comment honestly has made me somehow lose more respect for the Clippers organization. A news flash to Coach Rivers:
-The Warriors owned you all in the regular season 3-1.
-Your series against Houston was a huge chokefest and it looks like you all peed on your legs in that series, due to the mentally fragile state of your players and Coach supposedly.
Clips wonder why everyone hates them, its comments like that and the fact that they flop their way through basketball games and somehow wonder why no one can bring themselves to respect them.
Neg away.

Memphis MadnessParticipantWhen a 67 win team wins the title it’s not a fluke.
It would be a fluke if they DIDN’T win the title. I think a Celtics team won 68 games one season and didn’t win the title but I think Hondo was hurt. Other than that, I think teams that win 67 or more games in the regular season has gone on to win the title.
For teams in the modern era, the Warriors had the third highest total productivity score behind only the ’87 Lakers and the ’86 Celtics.
I just evaluated teams by looking at Team Points plus Rebounds plus Assists plus Steals plus Blocks minus Turnovers.
Just behind the 2015 Warriors are the ’92 Bulls, the ’87 Celtics, and then the ’83 Sixers.
However, I would call it a fluke if the Warriors have another top notch season like this one. Only the Larry Bird Celtics teams have 2 teams in the top 5 and only one of those teams won the title.
And, usually 67 win (plus) teams are one-offs. Only the ’96 Bulls team that won 72 games was followed up by a team that won 67 or more games (69 wins in ’97).

NBAjunkie81Participant#1 in Offense w/ 110+ ppg, only allowed 99 ppg – very consistent, fun to watch…. They were the best team in the NBA from start to finish & w/ his Reg season MVP & Leadership during a Championship run Curry established himself as a Legit "Super" Star
,,, I am not a Golden State fan but they won 83 games between reg season & playoffs & they didn’t luck into anything, Memphis & Cleveland pushed them, the Warriors made adjustment & slammed them… In Any sport, staying healthy & getting a break here or there is part of a championship run but you have to be prepared to take advantage of that opportunity & they were….
