drk3351ParticipantHey guys, I made a video breakdown taking a look at Saric’s game and how he’ll fit in the NBA. I ussually don’t post my videos here unless their draft related but I figured some of you would enjoy this one with not much going on. Thanks for watching.

markfitz14ParticipantWow his play was way below what I was expecting to see. To me he looks slow with a bit of stiffness. The shot looks decent and will prbly set him in that role player role. It may even take him a bit to get to a point where he contributes. I wouldn’t bank much hopes judging by that video.

NBAjunkie81Participantvideos of young 1st round picks… I like what Phila did when they took Saric – (Just to refresh memories & please correct me if I misinformed) I read that Hinkie wanted Saric in 2013 but Saric withdrew from the Draft & Phila took MCW w/ their pick at #11 in that 2013 Draft… In 2014, after Embiid fell to them & they took him with their #3 overall pick, Phila had an extra 1st round pick from the Hornets for the Jrue Holiday for Nerlens Noel deal… that pick turned into the #10 overall pick in the 2014 Draft which was Widely believed to be only a 3 player Draft (Parker, Wiggins & Embiid)… Many people believed that the Sixers had their eye on Stauskus at #10 but the Kings took Stauskus with the #8 pick… Phila, knowing Orlando wanted Elfin Payton & picking at #12 floated a rumor that an MCW trade was in the Wind & they were going to draft Payton w/ that #10 pick… Phila than offered Orlando a pick swap #10 for #12 if Orlando was willing to return the 2017 First round pick that former coach Doug Collins included in the 2012 Andrew Bynum trade…. So that is the background on this pick… Phila essentially recieved Nerlens Noel, Dario Saric & their 2017 First round draft pick was returned so all in all it was a good hall…
Saric is not someone I see posting up in Phila – ever… He’s a solid defender, has good size at 6’10” (though not good wing span), he’s coachable, good rebounder, 50% FG% & he should be a good fit on a young team with a great deal of size where I would imagine they expect him to play the "Point 4"… I like Saric on a young team where he can contribute in a number of ways… He is def Not a star but he gives a team flexibility… He can run the offense when you want to give your starting PG a blow, b/c Phila has Enormous size & length on the Blocks w/ Noel, Okafor & Embiid – Stauskus will get wide open looks… Similar to what Stauskus will see… When a team has legit talent at Center, it really opens up the floor for other players… Phila at this point is collecting Draft picks & talent, it’s going to be a few years before we see how all this fits together so whether Saric grows into a role or they trade him his skill set & size will enable him to contribute on an NBA team in a number of ways…
Phila took a lot of flack for essentially drafting two guys who did not play in 2014 & trading MCW but it’s important to remember that Because of that they totally lucked out & landed Okafor & that Lakers Lottery pick – if espn announced that Phila would end up with that package right after the 2014 Draft, it would have been considered quite a coup de grace… Still, Phila is a Long way from putting a viable team on the floor so we’ll see where this all goes
Thanks again for posting, it;s great to see these guys so early in their development… (sorry about the long post)

BEARDED-DRAGONParticipanti still think that orlando got hosed on that deal. i like payton, especially his hard nosed defense and hope his all-out attitude rubs off on the other players, but… he cant shoot. hezonja helps, but they need a couple more shooters to put around him or hes gonna have a tough time. i believe the sixers pick was lottery protected, at least at first but maybe im wrong, but still the pick the sixers got back has to be included when evaluating saric, because he was part of a good deal for them. based on the video he doesnt look to be as developed as i thought he might be, though i admittingly have never watched much tape on him.

MopgrassParticipantI wouldn’t knock a video breakdown because those are thoughtful. However, can we avoid a new Dario Saric post every few days?

sitlbitoParticipant"how can we avoid a new Dario Saric post every few days". Ignoring it and not clicking on it works pretty well in that case.
