SkalAndJamalParticipantWhat team do you think your favorite college players can thrive in? (Try to pick one team for one player)
Here’s mine:
Kris Dunn – Milwaukee Bucks. Great two-way player, Kidd would be a great mentor for this triple-double threat. He could really get this Milwaukee offense rolling once he gets adjusted to the NBA. MCW is
good but I don’t think he’ll be on the move again. Off topic would like to see MCW in New York.Skal Labissiere – Boston Celtics. I’m a huge Lakers
fan but I really think him and Stevens could have something like Tim and Pop. With a very strongperimeter defense and bench scoring that Boston has, having Skal be the franchise player for Boston would be great for the NBA.James Webb – San Antonio Spurs. I saw Matt Bonner come to the rescue in a series against the Thunder, Webb at worst can be where Bonner is in the rotation! Webb also got a lot of Danny Green in his game despite being a 4, and Danny really was about to bust out of the league if he
didnt go to the Spurs.other players:
Jamal Murray – 76ers
Dwayne Bacon – Pelicans
Ty Wallace – Pacers
Jaylen Brown – Bulls
Gary Payton II – Thunder

he_gets_bucketsParticipantKyle Wiltjer – Spurs
They have a knack for maximising guys skills and minimising their weaknesses, and I think Wiltjer would thrive in their system

ChewyParticipantdozens ofpeople who would thrive in the Spurs system. And I absolutely agree with all of you who say that. Every basketball player would be better off being drafted by the Spurs.
My question is, with all the money that can be made from having a successful basketball team, why are the Spurs the anomoly? Why arn’t more teams ran with the same organization and class that the Spurs are run with? Why isn’t the Spurs model copied more often by other teams?

kazamParticipantI think we have seen more teams trying to copy the "Spursian" model of team first attiudes and front office aptitude. The Warriors and Steve Kerr understood that by having an incredibly well rounded staff they would each make up for one anothers short comings.
I think it is important to note also the ability of the organization to help players see the bigger picture of what may be ahead of them. I’m thinking of Cory Joseph in particular, requesting to be sent down to the D-League in order to become a better player rather than viewing it as a demotion. Teams that are able to get players to ‘buy in’ always seem to be the most succesful.

SkalAndJamalParticipantCause it works for one organization doesnt mean it would work for everyone.

Magic JordanParticipantBen Simmons – This is a no brainer, the best prospect to enter the league in a few years would be great on the Lakers
Skal – This one is a little bit tougher but I would have to say I would love to see him on the Lakers
Jaylen Brown – This one is also challenging but after much deliberation I believe he would be great on the Lakers.
Point being I want one of my favorite college players to end up on my favorite team. This would mean the Lakers get lucky in the lottery.

SkalAndJamalParticipantThose wouldn’t necessarily be good spots for Skal or Ben cause LA is investing a lot in Julius Randle.

kazamParticipantDiallo- Raptors- They need a high motor highly efficient rebounder and that is Diallo. He could slide right into a clearly defined role while being given time to develop offensively.
Kris Dunn- Pacers. George Hill is a solid player, but he isnt a point guard. Dunn is and his size could certainly warrant playing the two together.
Henry Ellenson- Wizards. Ellenson would be an intriguing fit with the Wizards as a floor spacer and rebounder.
Jamal Murray-Pacers, Wolves, Bucks, Heat. Murray is an intriguing prospect and certainly has some real talent. With the Wolves being interested in moving Rubio, Murray could become a real target. Heat arent content with Chalmers and if Murray is available would be hard to pass up. After a year in the L he could make Dragic expendable.

Memphis MadnessParticipantI want my favorite guys to go to anywhere but Brooklyn. That team is terrible. I feel bad for Lionel Hollins.
I want the Grizzlies to draft well. I was hoping Sabonis would fall. I doubt it. Maybe Grayson Allen if he comes out. I like that guy. I haven’t seen much of Devin Robinson. That’s David Robinson’s kid right? He is a 6’8 small forward — something the Grizzlies need. I would like to see us get him… or, you know, the Spurs. I mean, I think they HAVE TO draft that guy if he is on the board. That would mean that the great Spurs MEGA DYNASTY would be on its second generation which would be pretty wild.
Now that I think about it, Sabonis might be a great fit on Portland. They have some depth there though with Myers Leonard, Vonleh, Mason Plumlee, and Ed Davis.
Ben Simmons and Skal: Either the Lakers or Knicks.
Ben Simmons could help bring back Showtime. Skal might do the same things Porzingas does, so I don’t have a best fit for him, yet.
Fit wise, I think it would be Minny for Ben Simmons. Rubio, Lavine, Wiggins, Simmons, and Towns sounds like a GREAT small ball lineup. Of course, one of those guys has to be able to hit a shot… but that looks like a great lineup. I imagine that you just sign a bunch of cheap shooters to put around those guys.
That’s the young team I would rather see: Ben Simmons with the run and gun T Wolves.
Best fit for Skal? If you can play him at the 5 then the Lakers would work. Pick and rolls with Skal and Jordan Clarkson, plus a floor spreading guy in DeAngelo Russell.
I almost forgot about Denver. This site projects Skal going to Denver. If they want to move Faried, then Nurkic, Skal, Mudiay, and Will Barton (plus Gallo) would be a decent young core. I think Skal would be a good fit in Denver.
I don’t really follow the other blue chip freshman.

rich.homie.mitchParticipantYogi Ferrell, 6’0 kid with a lot of heart and great work ethic. I could see him really thrive under the Spurs organization.
