The New Orleans Hornets have selected Anthony Davis!

     Results

    Anthony Davis: 12

    Austin Rivers: 1

    Jeremy Lamb: 1

The Charlotte Bobcats are now on the clock.

     I would go….

    1. Andre Drummond – He have he second highest potential in this draft and the Bobcats needed a Center
    2. Bradley Beal – Point guard wasn’t a need and they really needed shooing
    3. Damien Lillard – If they didn’t need a point guard, but no other is a better third option.

I’m going Beal, don’t think Kemba and Lillard or Al and Andre could co-exist. Beal compliments Batum, Walker, and Al pretty damn well.

Are we picking based off of the rosters these teams have now (and assume they make the same moves to get to that point) or basing the pick on what the roster was at the time of the draft?

Base it off of whatever you want. If you want to go by now or by 3 years ago, go ahead. I’m just doing this because I’m bored. I myself, am basing this off of 2012 rosters but you can do whatever you want with it.

I’ll go with Beal to help spread the floor for Kemba and Al.  Replacing MKG with Beal allows Batum to play the 3 with Beal at shooting guard.

Knowing what we know now, I think you would have to take lillard. Maybe trade walker or play him as an instant offense guy off the bench. I don’t think you pass on the chance to get a pg of lillard caliber.

However, to be completely honest, at the time I would’ve probably gone with Thomas Robinson.

Knowing how MJ drafts we could have a revision draft and he would still f*ck it up.

If the Hornets have nobody on that team, then Drummond, but if they have their current roster, Lillard…Beal is a joke right? Not 1 GM in the NBA would pick him over Lillard or Drummond to start a franchise

At the time they needed a big man, since Biyombo didn’t do what they wanted. I go with Drummond here.

Lillard. Dude doesn’t play much defense, but is one of the best offensive PGs in the league and is super clutch. He is an upgrade over Kemba, which allows them to trade him. I can’t see how Big Al and Drummond coexist in the same frontcourt.

I’m basing my answer off their roster at the time of the draft (as that makes the most sense to me). So I’m going with Drummond as they have pretty much nobody on their team other than Kemba, so you go with the young, athletic big man with tons of potential.

Beal. Seeing the Hornets today its clear they needed shooting over the past few years in a bad way. They were always committed to Kemba so it seems natural to put shooters around him since that’s his greatest weakness.

Kawhi and Draymond are also good options in hindsight yet its nuclear how both players would have developed away from a 1st class organization like the Spurs or Warriors. Also neither player was dubbed a good shooter at the time of the draft.

Lilliard makes no sense at all as they just committed to Kemba with a lotto pick.

Waiters could be a decent option yet I feel at the time Cleveland reached on a high upside guy and he probably should’ve gone late lotto.

Based on their roster then I’d take Drummond. They wouldn’t need to go for Jefferson and would have a real franchise building block.

If I knew they were getting Jefferson I’d take Barnes, he’d have been a perfect fit for Charlotte being a UNC guy and having shooting range to spread the floor and the potential to be a very good offensive player.

Potential centerpiece.  Almost chose Lillard, though, as I am not sure I love Kemba as a starting PG.

Lillard, I don’t think that this is THAT close other than drummond, and Beal being a distant third.

Drummond, and I can’t believe I’m the first person to mention the UConn connection between the two! Having two players who played in the same enviroment, and know the same personal would be huge considering PG and C are two important positions to have.

Bobcats were 30th in offense and 30th in defense, so they could go any direction. I think going with defense first would be key, and Drummond just provides that, and some. Having an elite rebounder doesn’t hurt, as CHA was in the bottom 5 in rebounding, and it would have given them more flexability because they wouldn’t have to sign Big Al.

Beal would be my next choice

but remember he was coming of a lacklustre year at UConn atleast vs the expectations. I don’t mind barnes here. Kemba can be his Kendall Marshall and get Barnes shots. that’s a good start. I guess it would be the same thing with Beal but I like Barnes size better
