Who are the bottom 5 teams this year (in order)?

Free agency is winding down, the draft is over, and we’re starting to see what all the rosters will be like. Who do you think the bottom five teams are going to be? Frankly, a lot of the bad teams look a lot better and only the Sixers are definite bottom 5 to me.
Below are some possibilities (in no order).
Nuggets? Won 36% last year. Added Mudiay. Are they trading Lawson and Faried?
Pistons? Won 39% last year. Lost Monroe, gained Stanley Johnson, and get a full year of Jackson.
Lakers? Won 26% last year. Lost Hill, added Hibbert, Russell, and maybe more Kobe minutes.
TWolves? Won 20% last year. Added Towns and maybe a healthy Rubio and Pekovic.
Magic? Won 31% last year. Added Hezonja.
Blazers? Won 62% last year. Lost Aldridge, Afflalo, and Batum. Added Plumlee, Vonleh, G.Henderson, and E.Davis.
Knicks? Won 21% last year. Lost Hardaway, added Afflalo, R.Lopez, J.Grant, D.Williams, and Porzingas.
76ers? Won 22% last year. Added Okafor and Stauskus.

Sixers are in the driving seat for the Simmons Sweepstakes.
The next few are toughies.
I’m going with Blazers. Plenty of young talent, but they are RAW.
Following them, Wolves. They are improving, but Wiggins, Towns and LaVine will get plenty of minutes and growing pains will be plenty.
4th in and losing their draft pick to the Sixers, are the Lakers. Kobe, Hibbert buy enough wins to outlast teh Wolves.
Finally, Brooklyn Nets come in at 5. No Williams, Lopez has his contract and might hit the snooze button.

The Celtics may have 4 lottery picks. Their own, a very high pick from Nets, the Mavs top 7 protected pick, The Suns top 12 protected pick.
So imagine the lottery looking like this.
1.Sixers 2.Celtics (via Nets) 3.Blazers 4.Sixers (via Lakers) 5. Wolves
6.Magic 7.Nuggets 8.Pacers 9.Pistons 10.Raptors (via Knicks)

  Miami would have to have a multitude of key injuries like OKC had this past year to miss the playoffs. If Chris Bosh didn’t miss so much time because of blood clots they would’ve been in the playoffs this past season. They’ll have Goran Dragic and Hassan Whiteside all year. They also added Justise Winslow, Amare Stoudemire, and Gerald Green via free agency. If they stay mostly healthy with their new depth they’ll be a playoff team.

I can see Dallas really stinking up the joint. Wesley Matthews may not fully recover from injuries. Deron Williams is capable of having a big night or two, but he seems a lot older than 31. This is year 18 for Dirk. Zaza is not much of a replacement for Tyson Chandler (I won’t say DeAndre Jordan).
All things considered, they have some very accomplished players, but there is potential for a total disaster here with a couple injuries to older players. They also have no quality depth whatsoever. I don’t think they’ll be bad enough to come away with Ben Simmons, but a bottom-5 finish would not surprise me.

The pistons, nets and hornets could all be in the mix as well. If the mavs get off to an extremely slow start before Parsons and Matthews are ready, they might just tank to keep their draft pick. A lot of this will depend on injuries.

  Despite the 76ers tanking they haven’t had the worst record in the NBA either of the last two years. Perhaps they’ll have the worst record this year, but I imagine Jahlil Okafor will carry them to more wins than last year.

    Although I am not as high on Okafor long term as a lot of people (I rank him as the sixth best player in this year’s draft), I think he will be the rookie that has the greatest immidiate impact. My guess is he gets them to approximately 25 wins.

My top 5 worst
1. Sixers
Okafor is a nice, a very nice addition, but I don’t expect him to be able to lead them out of the lottery. I expect them to be the team with the most ping pong balls next offseason.
2. Nuggets
I expect them to blow everything up and start over. Mudiay will be good, but not good enough to get the team out of the top 3 in lottery selections. Lawson and Faried are gone and they will just start over.
3. Lakers
They have too many guards and not really a legit big man. The guards ,imo, are going to not have great chemistry together. I know SL doesn’t matter, but we all saw how Russell and Clarkson work. If they can fix that problem then they will be better. If Hibbert can revive his career in LA, which I think is possible but not likely, then the Lakers will be better. There are too many if’s for this team and in the end I expect them to be the 3rd worse
4. Timberwolves
They will be down here for one more year. The year after I expect them to become a playoff team. Towns, Wiggins, and Lavine will get time to develop together and I think they will crack a 4 – 6 seed next year. This team will be pretty scary in a few years.
5. Mavs
People may not like this, but look at their starting 5.
PG: D-Will??? SG: Justin Anderson??? SF: Richard Jefferson until Parsons is better. PF: Nowitzki who is just getting older C: Zaza Pachulia.
Lots of question marks, and even if that was the starting lineup is that playoff material? I don’t think so… Is it high lottery material yes.
That’s just my opinions though

  When you say the Lakers don’t have a legitimate big man do you mean they don’t have a legit center or not a legit center and power forward? Despite a rough season last year Hibbert averaged 10.6 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 1.1 apg, and 1.6 bpg. That’s nothing stellar certainly, but it’s solid especially for an off year. The Lakers also have the unproven yet promising second year player Julius Randle.
  I feel bad for the Timberwolves because if they were in the East and they were healthy they’d be in true competition for a playoff spot this year. Unfortunately being in the West it will be a huge struggle to make the playoffs even next year unless one of their key guys turns into a superstar in the off season.
  Your bottom five seem pretty likely to me.

Philly is the worst as of now. Their perimeter is terrible.
Portland should be at or near the bottom of the West next year.
Denver and Brooklyn are down there if they successfully shed some of their core guys (D.Will/J.Johnson and Lawson/Faried etc) and start the rebuilding process.
Minnesota won’t be at the bottom, but they’re still incredibly young, and might shed vets like Pek/K.Mart to open up even more minutes for their young guys. They’ll still probably be in the bottom-6 or so.
After that, I think the Lakers will still be down there (but Philly gets their pick, no?). Knicks won’t make the playoffs, but they should be a tad better.
Sacramento is Sacramento. 28-34 wins based off of talent alone but just a mess otherwise.
