Toronto trades Terrence Ross, James Johnson, and or Lucas Noguera and a TE with their remaining cap room.

Toronto receives Tristan Thompson and future draft picks, assets, or stashed players that will not effect the cap which Ujiri loves collecting.

Cleveland trades Brendan Haywards 10-mil  ccontract which is expiring, Tristan Thompson, and JR Smith sign and trade. If Smith refuses it maybe tough to make the cap room but they can find a way.

    Cleveland receives Joe Johnson

    Nets trade Joe Johnson

Nets receive Terrence Ross, James Johnson, Lucas Nogueira and JR Smith

I see some trade along those lines to benefit each side and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if it happens. Makes perfect sense all across the board.

Toronto needs a PF just invested 23-mil per year in players who can help replace Ross. Thompson reuniting with longtime teammate would be a huge boost for both and great media ploy.

Cleveland gains another great talent to put around James replaces Smith who opted out and does not have to invested 40- mil over 4-years like the Raptors likely will. They are already paying Varejao likely the same amount Thompson will make to do the same job.

Brooklyn unloads Johnsons contract replaces him with an NBA vet JR Smith that can immediately help them win with Young and Lopez being resigned and Terrence Ross who still has good potential and is a rare true serviceable wing.

GM Lebron James would not accept this offer. He likes Tristan and wants him around on his team.

Guess I’m a Raps homer I thought it was a pretty fair trade.

Nets need some value in return which Haywood and Andy don’t give but luxary tax freedom. That’s not too encouraging for Young or Lopez.

Cavs get a 24-Mil expering contract the year the cap goes up another huge chunk and get amazing financial flexibility next year to shape their lineup and build a dynasty. At that point Thompson would be an afterthought.

Thompson is not going anywhere and why would Cleveland take on a mid 30’s player and get rid of a young athletic rebounder

Why wouldn’t the Raptors try to trade for Tristan Thompson The Raptors acquire another hometown kid, and someone that played with Joseph in Texas University. I think the Raptors would trade their 1st Round Draft Pick, Terrence Ross and their TE for Thompson than Cleveland could trade the TE to Brooklyn for Joe Johnson.

^^^Maybe the Cavs don’t wanna trade Tristan Thompson for a wing they don’t need, a non-lottery pick, and Joe Johnson for 24 million a year

i like cavs getting ross somehow, maybe a sign and trade for smith, but i don’t see double T getting moved…at least not until before the deadline at which point it could be either him or Love that is available then.

If denver wants to unload lawson and farried. heres an idea:

    lawson to cleveland

haywoods expiring and faried to brooklyn

    johnsons expiring to denver

Due to Cleveland being under the cap and choosing to invoke the Cap Room rule, Cleveland could not go over the cap by more than $100,000 of post-trade Team Salary, which did happen here. Due to Brooklyn being under the cap and choosing to invoke the Cap Room rule, Brooklyn could not go over the cap by more than $100,000 of post-trade Team Salary, which did happen here. Due to Denver being under the cap and choosing to invoke the Cap Room rule, Denver could not go over the cap by more than $100,000 of post-trade Team Salary, which did happen here. Also, Denver met the requirements of the Hard Cap rules of staying under the Tax Threshold plus $4M for adjusted post-trade Team Salary. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
